This is a really exciting time for Eve players and I think it would be fantastic if MMOrpg.com got up to speed and delivered more info.

I've anxiously been awaiting more news on Dust 514.  I'm currently at work and don't have the time to watch these long videos.  Can someone please give me a quick synapses of the new information?

I don't appreciate a company trying to force me to buy a stupid console to get me to play their game.

So first of all you feel compelled to buy the game and then you blame CCP for making you compelled to buy the game and then you accuse them of not giving you enough options in order for you to buy the game.... thats all well and good but never generalize a statement to "ALL" because that's just silly. I'm an Eve player, I own a console and I don't think its a bad move, I don't think I'm being left out, maybe because it doesn't affect me, maybe because I don't have any interest in FPSs, maybe because its only planetary DOMINION i'm looking forward to or maybe its because I know I have control over those DUST mercs and I can nuke them. At the end of the day, never generalize it never makes a good argument unless you have proof.

What a colossally foolish comment.

You don't have to buy a Console. You don't have to play Dust 514. No one is forcing you to do anything, much less buy a console or play their new game. It may surprise you, but a great number of us actually DO own consoles.

If you don't like CCP, then quit. They aren't obligated to do things your way simply because you don't have a console

In reality, Dust 514 seems to be less about appealing to the current player base, and more about expanding the player base and getting people who do enjoy FPS games into the Eve universe. Though I am sure many who do play Eve and have a console are happy to see this aswell, whether they chose to buy it or not.

 I know myself I prefer to play FPS games on PC, I like my kybd/mouse and feel FPS games are usually faster paced on PC than console.

I'm really interested in Dust 514. I hope it gets onto PS3.... It'd be a shame if it ended up as an exclusive title for only one system. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping it gets versions on the 360, PS3 and the Wii for maximum exposure.

I have a feeling that making the game on a console forces pretty much everyone equal grounds or at least close to it.

On PC, a player with a G15 keyboard + macro mouse can really outplay others. That is less of the case on a console where everyone has a gamepad. You can also block Keyboard and mouse on a PS3 or 360.

Since it's all the same console, then performance is essentially the same for everyone. On PC, you'll have folks trying to play this game on a single core kit with 512 rams pitted against a 4 gig ram, crossfire cards and 6 core cpu.

I much prefer FPS shooters on a PC but I can quickly see why they are taking the console route.
