Wurm Online is a sandbox MMORPG developed by Rolf Jansson and Markus "Notch" Persson and published by Code Club AB. The game is very player driven, and features an open, skill-based advancement system rather than classes, leveling, or quests. Wurm Online also features crafting, terraforming, mounts, ship and building construction, cooking, PvP, and much more.
The Wurm Online team has sent word that the Linux version of the game is now available via the Steam gaming platform. In addition, Wurm Online is doing very well since its Steam launch and trends in the top 25 downloaded titles and is sporting an impressive 82% approval rating by Steam reviewers.
Wurm Unlimited has been released on Steam with a number of neat features including the ability for players to host their own servers as an MMO or as a single-player world; creation of items; custom or in-game maps and much, much more.
The Wurm Online team has announced an exciting new adventure for players with the game's arrival on Steam on October 21st. Not only will a localized PC version be available, but so will the ability for players to host persistent servers.
Wurm Online players on the Elevation server will want to head into the game as soon as possible to grab land on the freshly reset and expanded map. After several issues with Elevation, the community voted for reset and today marks the beginning of the new with all land up for grabs.
Survival MMO Wurm Online this week added a new 8x8 kilometer Challenge mode. Each Challenge will last one month, with prizes given to winners at the end of each cycle. Characters within this speical server begin with all the skills they need to build the best in battlefield offense and defense.
The Wurm Online team is inviting any and all comers to take part in a server test event this Thursday, April 10th. During the event, players will face off against 50,000 monsters and is designed to give developers of how many players can be stuffed onto the server at the same time.
Wurm Online underwent a significant update earlier in the day but, later, servers were brought down after what developers are calling a "significant DDoS" attack.
The next update to Wurm Online will be deployed on February 18th. The team has confirmed the feature changes and additions and made a lengthy post on the WO forums. The crafting interface has been overhauled, an invite command has been added and new emotes have been added, among other things.
Wurm Online has been patched with the Summer Update that brings the game to v1.1. According to information we've received, the patch brings new game features, improvements of existing features and overhauls of some, including the sorcery and mystical systems.
