Fallen Earth players who want to check out the new combat improvements and terrain enhancements will want to log into the public test server starting today. The latest version of Fallen Earth, v1.7.4, will be hitting the PTS after downtime to load the new version. Devs will be posting 'hot spots' on the PTS forums that they would like players to explore and give feedback on.

In addition to the revamped combat, players can also try out the Faction Control Points that are spread throughout the game world. Reported on Sep 23, 2010Fallen Earth Wastelanders now have a way to change their names if and when the time comes. A new 'name change form' has been added to the Fallen Earth store that allows players to remake themselves if suddenly deciding that their names no longer suit them. The ability to change names is, according to the store's PR, only for a limited time and comes in at $15.00 for the pleasure of becoming someone else.

The patch also brings online the first anniversary events to celebrate one year in the Wastelands. Players will also have new clothing dyes with which to play. The soundtrack will be available to purchase on the Fallen Earth site with individual tracks running ninety-nine cents or the entire soundtrack for $13.99.
