Bare in mind, the only people you are likely to hear from are those who dislike the game and therefore are willing to get banned for breaking NDA. Those who like it want to stay in and wont post.

So you're going base your opinion about this game from the opinion of someone who doesn't like pie?

Oh No,  I never do.   I will check it out for myself like every other mmo that looks good to me (more than I can count).   This one does.   But I appreciate any information offered.

Actally with all the hype behind Aion that isn't a bad place to open a MMO - they'll actally get the players who WANT to play the MMO first...... not the 'bored' just looking for the 'next big thing' that will force new servers to be open, complain about the content confusing the devs which playerbase is actally 'real' and then get 'bored' again then drop off, then just those drop offs that weren't into the game at all as 'reasons why it's bad'....

Much like whats happened with most MMOs these days. At least building your playerbase up looks better then loosing a playerbase you didn't reallt want

Aion, CO, CitiesXL and now FE. What a good month it will be, although CO is already out of my list of "must play immediately" games as I disagree with an in-game item shop together with $50 retail cost and $15 monthly fees, sounds too much like a new step for greed revenue.

And it seems Aion is the only with balls that will offer an Open Beta for anyone that wants to try the game before spending $50 for a possible disappointment, because after all, choosing a MMO based on opinions and press hype rather than actual gameplay is a big chance of fail.

This. From what I understand of the current state of the game, this is suicide.

Wow...I dunno what they are thinking, I can only assume they have run out of funding and need to push the game out the door, which never goes well. Really a shame, the game has some cool ideas but is no where near ready for a retail launch. Worse to go up against games in a far more polished state with more of a following, spells suicide for FE :(

I agree, its not ready, but like most mmo's, they've run out of money and its either release and continue to add features/polish, or shut it down for lack of further development capital.

Not surprising at all really.

I hope it survives, as its definitely a nod to immersion and complex crafting systems, and the polar opposite of superficial rails games like Aion.

Will go down as a Vanguard (with less initial hype)

That about sums it up. Way too buggy right now. Definitely needs another year, but w/e, it will be a grand fail.

No MMO is ever ready for release, however it is amazing what has been achieved in the pre-launch month of every other recent MMO.

I'm looking forward to a skill- rather than class-based MMO in a non-fantasy setting with an open enough world that I can play a role in. A MMO that isn't just a glorified theme park and isn't heavy on grinding. I want to enjoy this world with other players outside the mainstream.

I want to play something different. That is why I'll be playing Fallen Earth rather than those other games.

yeah.....but some are less ready than others....

...I mean, there's "not ready" like Tabula Rasa, where the game could use some more polish and content...

...and then there's "not ready" like AoC, where half the game is missing or broken, performance is still alpha quality, and generally it just isn't fucking pretty.

Eh, that just lets us know you need a good computer to run it (or that the coding is inefficient)

Maybe they used too many floats instead of integers in their code? Who knows.

Letting us know this during Beta doesn't do much except let potential fans know that they need a good computer.

What I'd be quoting and argueing "NDA" about would be all the people saying it's "buggy as hell" and such.

Apparently you've never read the NDA. You are not allowed to disclose your participation in the beta. The fact that falc0n says, "tried the beta again" violates that NDA. I hope the game developer can find out who he is and ban his beta account. He deserves it.

NDAs are in place for a reason. They are in place to protect competeing companies from expoure to unreleased software just as much as they protect the developer's IP. You can never anticipate the impact even the most insignificant piece of information can have.

If you don't believe me, ask any lawyer who deals with corporate IP.

The NDA is bullshit anyway, it declares you cannot get on VoIP while you're in beta.

Anyway, love the game, cant afford it at release, wish FE the best of luck though.

Corporate Espionage isn't FEs biggest concern at this moment but thanks for playing.

Playing? More like crafting and foraging. I can safely compare this game to the Three Little Pigs. The game is going to be released as a house of straw or sticks, when it should be bricks. Unfortunately, unlike the fable, the wolf is going to win this time.
