Kataklysm Fan Q&A
Fallen Earth devs and Nuclear Blast Records have partnered to bring players the opportunity to submit questions to the Kataklysm heavy metal band. The band will be stopping by the studios to check out the game and answer fan questions. Questions can be posted in writing or via video on the Fallen Earth Facebook page.

Fallen Earth Partners Up with Nuclear Blast Records!
The announcement came on Thursday that the team at Fallen Earth has partnered with Nuclear Blast Records, the world's largest independent heavy-metal record label, in a bid to incorporate some of the label's popular tracks into the game.

Patch v1.8 Coming to PTS
Icarus Studios has announced that the v1.8 patch will be applied to the Public Test Server next week. The new patch brings a lot of anticipated changes and features improvements to the game including updates to skills and munitions, new territory, economic improvements, social channels, and new music in the underground bunker bar.

Lovesick Zombie Killin' Fest
The Fallen Earth team has announced that Gamer Girls Radio will be hosting a "lovesick zombie killin' fest" starting tonight, Friday, February 11th. Players are invited to tag along with Gamer Girls' hostesses and join in on the Valentine's Day fun. The team also has a couple other cool events planned.

February State of the Game
Icarus Studios Senior Game Designer Marie "Aro Sei" Croall has posted the latest Fallen Earth 'state of the game' letter that features a look back at recent accomplishments as well as a look forward to what the future holds. The PTS will be updated soon and will give players a first look at skill and mutation changes, Scavenger Bosses, a large content area on the way to Sector 4 and several economy changes.

My Bloody Valentine Event Coming
Fallen Earth players have an in-game event to look forward to as Valentine's Day approaches. Called "My Bloody Valentine", players have the opportunity to earn The Heartbreaker and "a new Holiday Crafting recipe that will enable you to rip out your little clone heart."

Partnering with Alienware
Fallen Earth devs have partnered with Alienware to bring players a great opportunity for an exclusive in-game weapon simply for registering for the Alienware Arena site. Registration is free and for so doing, players will receive the Xenofire weapon that levels with them. These weapons and game keys will be given away on a first-come-first-served basis beginning Monday, January 24th.

New Inventory Coming Soon
Icarus Studios and the Fallen Earth development team have announced that new items will be added to both the in-game store and at in-game merchants. Players will be able to purchase additional character slots as well as expanded slots for pets and mounts.

January State of the Game
Marie Croall, Senior Game Designer for Fallen Earth has posted the January State of the Game letter on the official forums. The letter takes player questions into account and goes into great detail about the upcoming Sector 4 Alpha County that is set to debut sometime in early 2011.

Boneclaw Reborn
After today's Fallen Earth servers update to v1.7.4, all of the new terrain improvements will be live. One of the areas that Icarus Studio devs targeted as "insanely ugly" is the starter area, Boneclaw. Game Updated & Goodies Too
As of this writing, Fallen Earth servers are down to update to v1.7.4 which includes new terrain models, bug fixes, and enhancements. In addition, the Icarus Studios team has announced that they are throwing in some nifty presents for all good little Wastelanders.

New Patch to Deploy Wednesday
Fallen Earth devs have announced that the 1.7.4 patch will be deployed on all servers on Wednesday, December 15th. Among other things, the new patch brings online the terrain enhancement and a new cockroach pet.

Holiday Apocalypse Challenge Announced
Icarus Studios and the Fallen Earth development team have announced the Holiday Apocalypse Challenge where players can win prizes as diverse as iPhone and a custom Fallen Earth PC rig. Between now and January 7, 2011, all players have to do is log in for a chance to win any one of several prizes. Each day that a player logs in increases the chance of winning.

Holiday Social Announced
Icarus Studios and the Fallen Earth team are inviting players to a holiday social event on Saturday, December 18th at 2 p.m. EST. Players attending will score a Yuletide beanie and will have the opportunity for a Secret Santa-type event to give needy players some much needed equipment.

Quarantine of Monkeytown
Fallen Earth devs have provided MMORPG.com readers with some brand new screenshots and a developer diary about the destruction of Monkeytown. Disease had run rampant through Monkeytown and the only way to avoid greater contamination was to burn the town to the ground. Check out the Quarantine of Monkeytown and a pair of screens.
