Fallen Earth News - Now Available on Steam

Posted by Michael Bitton on Sep 22, 2009  | 6 comments in our forums

Fallen Earth is now available for purchase on Steam and players who opt to purchase the game from the service will get a special in-game Steam shirt item.

Details on the special item below:

Get the exclusive Steam T-Shirt
The Steam t-shirt is available to all players who pre-order off of Steam, and has its own special model with the Steam logo emblazoned on the front. While it is worn, the player gains a +5 bonus to the Scavenging, Nature and Geology skills, allowing for easier harvesting of critical components and a higher chance to get rare components from the same harvesting nodes. It also grants a +10 bonus to the Social skill, enabling the character to get minor discounts from merchants.

Grab the game on Steam here.

I'll be curious to see the honest (i.e not the shills) reviews on this. I got into the beta in late development (like just a few weeks before they ended it) and was totally not impressed. The whole FPS aspect was incredibly stilted and clunky and the world felt dead, but not dead in a good post-apoc way but dead as in not having any ambiance at all.

Agree completely. But for me the worst thing is that one must press tab (ok, can be redefined) to switch from running/walking mode to hit/shoot mode ... then back .... which is - imo - just terrible idea. I would have nothing against tab for more precision .... but this way caused only that i have used maybe 3 to 4 hours of free gameplay for 30 days.

Actually for rifle is not so problematic as is for mele as mobs does not stay in place. As I have fingers on keys 1-5 mean i must switch to wasd (which i never liked and enjoed a lot when finnaly was possible to move characters with both mouse buttons pressed which are also much more effective and precise) then back to 1-5 ... then back ....

Maybe just me but this is main reason (plus what Longswd said) that i stopped to play and I'm gone for good. I have been playing even Tabula Rasa for more time. Fortunately there are many great games outside and I will not miss a lot. But I'm sorry as I liked Fallout 3 and this was sounding as good MMO version.

The graphics and animations in this game are so bad you get angry when you see it for the first time. You feel seriously cheated and you would very much like your money back.

Its not just "bad", its... complete fail...

Great idea, great setting, and great sandbox features... and then have utterly crap graphics and animations.... In the name of God, WHY?!? Why kill the game even before it gets a chance?

Morons.
