Action Point exploiters have had their characters deleted. Oh and chip buyers too. Pull up a chair and enjoy the show. forums.fallenearth.com/fallenearth/showthread.php And for those without forum access I quote the official word in the originating post of that thread. The title of the thread is "Sploits Squashed". "Greetings Wastelanders, Today we have acted on our previous promises to crack down on AP exploiters and chip purchasers. Excess currency and irreparable characters have been removed from the system. This will help restore balance to some of the areas where exploited characters were dominating the landscape. The Code of Conduct can be reviewed through the updater or online at http://www.fallenearth.com/codeofconduct. We will continue to monitor the health of the game and take action to ensure the overall stability and health of our playerbase. Thank you for your support and see you in game! Best, |

Icarus dont fuck around when it comes to RMT and they are fighting it in a right way too, without shooting themselves in the foot (losing too many subs because of it). For example as a first warrning if you bought or sold chips you get 2 weeks ban. It' s not a perma ban which costs them a sub but they are giving you the option to keep your account and play fair after those two weeks if you choose to. And now with the exploiters, char goes poof haha, much better then perma ban if you ask me. Very smart and effective approach from Icarus on this issue, other companies should pay attension, watch and learn how you run a MMO properly and how you battle RMT in particular. Small indy starting company is schooling the big boys in MMO industry, anything from fast bug fixes to perfect customer service to listening to their comunity and working with them to improve the game with zero ego involved and now a war on RMT, very enjoyable for me to watch this.

There's only been one post on the official forums and that by someone who says they only had a level 8 character. Along with the character deletion he's got a 3 day ban. So the in-game fireworks won't start for a couple of days. |

For some reason, it is always the smaller companies that come up with the good ideas, or really, many new ideas at all. Just look at FE's progression system. Please support games that deliver a new and innovative experience. Eve, Ryzom, Ultima Online, Fallen Earth, Asheron's Call, Darkfall, Wurm and, other similar games deliver immersive Worlds, not Maps with mini-games or killing with no story. Even if you do not like the games themselves, support and appreciate the effort of developers to try something new. |

This action I approve of. Anyone complaining against it in my estimate has probably had their account deleted. Being a small company and fighting for every subscription they get I'm fairly confident they checked and double checked their data before taking action. So, if you've been banned or deleted, you've earned it and will get no sympathy from me. Asheron's Call. The one open world, classless progression, live team content oriented game that ALL game sites and developers show little respect for as a template to pattern future MMOs after.

Ive been banned, i just noticed a mail. I didnt know, but apperently i have been AP exploiting. I dont know which char they have deleted, they told me not in the mail. Hmm its weird they delete char and ban account in 3 days? I didnt even know i have been exploiting, so i dont understand why they solve this issue like this? |

Bravo FE! Gold purchasers should be dragged into the street and shot, and their parents castrated to ensure no prolongation of the genes. But a two week ban works too... |

It's probably because of repeatable AP missions. All missions that give a bonus AP as a reward are one time deal only. Some of them were bugged I guess and the NPC would offer it again and again. It should be obvious to even a newbie that this should not happen and it should be reported as a bug. I've done all AP missions in S1 and I never encountered a repeatable AP mission so i dont know what triggers it exactly, some trick or exploit or whatever.

I did a repeatable AP quest once in linewood. After completing it I went through a second mission arc.. when I was headed back I saw the quest giver had another quest for me, I went through the quest line again and sure enough he gave me another AP for it. At that point its where I stopped, I could've probably went through it a few more times but decided not to continue doing it as I figured it would probably be rolled back anyways (it was during a weekend the server had been down and missions had to be redone a few times due to rollbacks)
Anyways, don't really think its everybodys fault that there were repeatable AP missions... but at least they're taking care of the ones that knew it was an exploit and kept going with it. |

This is great PR for the company vs one like NCSoft which has done next to nothing to stop theirs. |

You knew exactly what you were doing. You didn't think something was wrong when you kept turning in the same AP quests over and over to gain bonus AP? When AP is literally the lifeblood of your character in terms of progression? They also had a warning about this on the forums that was very, very clear. Ignorance is no excuse. |

This was one of the reasons I took a break from Aion, I couldn't stand the SPAM as soon as you logged on. To me, it makes the game feel cheap and vulnerable to hacks. Fallen Earth / Lords of War |
