Vid? It's alright... :)
Probably that was the most you could squeeze out of this generic product. Somehow the game feels like RaiderZ, only that game is more fun (and that's why the RaiderZ "My First hour" had more fun in it too. "I'm taking a quest from a trout" :) )
Btw, wasn't ArchLord the game BenX played in the movie? Strange, didn't look this generic back then, true, that was the first one, not Archlord 2.
Very entertaining video.... as for the game.... it was alright I guess.
@Mitara I would say I'm definitely not better than anyone else at MMORPG. I can do a video just fine, but I couldn't write an article if my life depended on it.
As for who I am, that's a mystery! (I'm just a self-proclaimed comedian who has been playing MMORPG's since the days of MUDs - mystery solved)
I am sorry, only two hours? Its like these people in their twenties who became a celebrity two years ago on a reality TV show and decided to write a book about their life.
Great job on these videos man!
But yeah, not a game I'd play.
@Scot - I can see why people say that, especially about MMOs, which are meant to be played for months. Naturally endgame is going to be the developers major focus because that's where their core players are going to be spending the majority of their time.
BUT (and this is a MAJOR BUT)
If the beginning of your game lacks any personality or originality and does not entertain, that is simply bad design.
This is why it's called a "First Impressions" video :-) Sometimes Developers need to realize that the first few hours of their game are perhaps MORE important than what there is to do at endgame. If you can enthrall a player at the beginning, maybe they'll stick around for the endgame. If you can't, you're going to lose more people at the beginning than you'll ever keep around.
another great video by TheHiveLeader!
really enjoyed it.
lol @DMKano, exactly my thoughts.
I was looking forward to this game but i personally found it too clunky. I love the class versatiliy although theres only 4 class archetypes. So besides that and the good looking cinematics, i was disappointed.
I will try it again when they add the Moon Elf race and hope that by that time the game is more polished.
what i hate the most is that that game isn't as hectic as the cinematics showed us .. is a plain simple tab targetting game..
"I feel like I should be going to church more" - The Hiveleader
Nothing to see here.
"If you're tired of doing the same thing you've been doing in mmos for years, you probably won't get there"
Devs need to start realizing this. People want progression, not a grind to be able to simply play the game.
I played the first incarnation of this game. It was not alright. Supposedly, the main language is English. But, you are hard pressed to find anything but Spanish speakers (so good luck on getting help from players if you don't speak Spanish). There were so many little bugs, with movement and graphical glitches. And, while it had a lot of little cool features. It was confused by a messy and inconsistent UI. It also had a world with everything spaced unreasonably far apart. Paced by distance you must cover imo, is the worst way to go about gating content.
I wasn't really looking forward to the sequel. But, they sure did take their sweet time to end up producing something so average. However, I suppose for those that played the first one (and are still active players). It must come off as massively improved upon. Which I guess for them is great. They get a better version of a game they like.
This game shouldnt even be called Archlord.
Webzen (who have closed 11 out of 18 games) just build a generic mmo and named it after one of their more popular mmos.
Archlord 1 had full open pvp.
Archlord 2 has no open pvp, infact everything in Archlord 2 is instanced based.
The pvp in Archlord 2 is basically wait until the evening and do 3 battles over 3 hours (usually over in 15 mins)
The added a faction system where Archlord 1 never had a faction. And the factions only have 1 playable race....
Infact the only things in Archlord 1 that are relevent to Archlord 1 is the name of the game and the possibility to become Archlord (if they ever add it)
Its plint to see that Webzen just use the Archlord name to try and draw in and keep old Archlord players. Sadly everyone who is lvl cap has nothign to do for 90% of the day
While Archlord 2 might be a good game for new players who have no played many games.
Its a pretty terribly game for all the old Archlord players.
And it sure as hell is not a brutal pvp game. Its a no pvp game unless you actually want to pvp. And then you have to wait hours to pvp and its over in 10 mins.
