Please, Mythic.  Make it where if I come back and have to reinstall I don't have to setup my shortcut bars again!

Why can't these things be stored server side?  It takes forever and again to set those things up.

Probably because if they had to store every player's UI setup on their server, they would run out of database space pretty quicklike? How many games do you know that store it server side? I can't think of one off the top of my head.

I can think of 4 off the top of my head.

Everquest 2
World of Warcraft
Guild Wars
DnD Online

I've had to re-install all of those games and didn't have to go through setting up my shortcut bars again.  I can even log onto my characters from someone else's house in those games and jump right into gameplay!

Then how come I can log onto my account at my brother in laws house and just start playing?  I've done it at my buddies house as well.

The only thing I had to do was turn the shortcut bars on in the settings (a simple check in a checkbox) and the icons were there just like at home.

Why So Serious?

DAoC is also pretty damn old where things like that weren't really a foreseeable issue, not to mention hard drives back in the Day were like mega small compared to what we can buy now.   If you want to have them update it go suggest it to them they're still updating the game on occasion.   You really can't compare an old game to a new game.

Please Refer to Doom Cat with all conspiracies & evil corporation complaints. He'll give you the simple explination of..WE"RE ALL DOOMED!

Yes I can.

They've updated their graphics engine, haven't they?  The also updated their interface since release.  So, why can't I compare?

Always know the prospects
But learn to expect
Nothing

/agree

Having to setup your buttons on each computer you get on is VERY annoying!  This would be a great addition to the game.

It all seems so stupid
It makes me want to give up
But why should I give up
When it all seems so stupid

All the time you spent bitching in this post you could of set your shortcut bars up again.  Save your config files to a usb drive, don't be lazy.

Getting tired of the same game in a different skin :(

have you suggested it to mythic yet? if not y are u bitchin on these forums mythic dev's dont come here lol.

If you have asked them, i found that they usually take ideas players suggest into consideration, or atleast they did back when i played. DAoC is old game and i imagine that they dont have alot of dev's left focusing on DAoC since WAR is coming!

but ya anyway e-mail mythic thats ur best bet to get something added/fixed.

Because the game is still ancient and obviously your the only one crying over it or they'd of started storing that stuff server side.   Suggest it to them instead of crying.  I can't figure out why everyone comes here to cry instead of atleast suggesting in a manner in which the devs will see it.  They don't come here and see your whines there fore they can't address whatever issue you have.

Mythic does look at these forums.  They've said that continuously.  If you read the Herald then you'd know.  They don't keep their own forums and therefore check out the other major gaming forum sites.  They actually used to have a p.r. employee who came here and answered things for a while.  But they still come and look at what people are writing.

Suggestions are not whining.  You people who are so tough with your accusations on forums crack me up sometimes.  I wonder how close you would actually come to saying the disrespectful things you say to people standing right next to you.  I think you'd be quick to really be whining when you're picking up your teeth off the floor.

If you don't like what I write then move on.  It would be a great lesson in humility.  Some of you sound like you need that lesson!

I usually put the QB's to my USB-drive. If I quit the game (which I propably won't do in a while) I'd save the user files to some safe location or sent them to my e-mail because they're small in size. I have about 20 alts and total size of their user files is about 300 kb.

Thanks for the suggestion.  That's actually a good idea.  I never thought of carrying them on a USB drive.

I also appreciate you being so much more decent than the other comments I got.
