The populations are so bad (when I last checked).. I never saw another person.. rvr seemed like there was still too much land... is there any talk of merging servers?.. I would love to see a steady 4000+ server.

They allready Clusterd the servers this New Patch made it so for every server on the Cluster there is only 1 Zone for SI and Classic Zones so you will see alot more people the days of a 4000 Person server are long gone.... its a High pop when a Cluster gets to 2k people.

never fear I is here!

Yeah it seemed like 600-1300 is the average population at a given time.. its really sad that DAOC has that kind of audience.. the game was amazing... and still is in a lot of ways.

I think ill be heading back to daoc this summer as well.. Time to plvl a scout to 39 for molvik to test the new archery overhaul woot

P.S. i never see the lassic server drop below 1800 people in a day, and really classic servers are the only good ones. Its at 2200 people at this very second

SAdly the ToA-servers are lowpopulated, but the classic servers are packed every night!

So if you come back, you might want to roll new chars there. The battlegrounds usually have atleast 10 from each realm, sometimes alot more. Remember that you can gain 5 bubs of exp just by taking the Central keep once every level.

The expbunuses in the pvp-zones are 200% so exping on mobs in the BGs are pretty nice to :)

I just joined the daoc US servers, playing on gareth. Having come from the EU servers, the Gareth server is literally packed and im having no trouble finding people to group and talk with.

I'll add some more info here.

Thid, Molvik, Leirvik and Cathal Valley are always populated, usually over 15 mids there. Don't know about the other realms though. Sometimes even Braemar and Wilton have decent amount of players.

Only good ones?  Most of the daoc population would disagree.  Add up all the people on toa servers one night, then add up classic, classic usually has 1/3 or less of the population.  Both rulesets have their pros and cons.  If you can get in with a good set of people, any server will be fun.

I feel the same way... Hardly a day goes by when I don't think about playing again. I think I might poke around in it this summer as well.

I definately have thought about coming back. I played for a long time last year and got a Mid Healer up to 50 on Gareth, it had a decent population back then before all the classic servers were merged. I hear now that all classic servers are merged the population is a little better, is this true? If so I might definately have to consider coming back. I used to have a blast.

Where''s the Troll repellent when you need it?

Yeah, not a day goes by that I play another MMo hoping to fill the hole that DAOC has left in me. It was my first MMo and my favorite. I played 2 weeks after launch and stopped shortly before Catacombs. Running on Guinivere (which on average had highest pop of 4k at peak) and RvR'ing with 100 mates zergging. I keep falling back to DAOC, but when I come back I'm just not satisifed like I used to be. If i could go back in time and enjoy DAOC in its glory days I would. <Cry>

I'm enjoying my time on Gareth.   The server populations seem to have been fairly stable this summer, with Gareth-Ector-Lamorak cluster the most popular.  (much to the annoyance of TOA "loyalists")

I played about a month or 2 ago and lvl'd a savage to 50 and had an awesome time doing it.  I dont know why i quit because right now it sounds like fun.  The RvR was great when i got in groups and ran around killing, especially in the Laby reminded me of ole DF.  its 15$ and honestly if you want to go back do it, get in a decent guild and meet some new people and have a blast.  I was so glad i did and when i get a steady cash flow coming back in i plan on reactivating till WAR.

They should combine all ToA servers into ONE ToA server and keep ONE Classic server, ONE pvp server, and ONE coop server, giving all ToA players the option to transfer their characters to the CLASSIC server (of course, losing their ToA stuff.)

If the game only had TWO servers, a population of 4000 would be easy, and the game would feel alive again. Of course, you'd still have the PvP and COOP servers, so it would technically not be TWO, but FOUR servers, but those don't really count...
