I'm hopefully planning to return to Dark Age of Camelot. But i've worried that I won't have a chance against other people in RvR.

I'm planning to move to a classic server, considering the population levels on the clusters.

How much of an disadvantage would I be at compared to other people in RvR, if I returned to this game without knowing anyone on those servers? And having to start over from lvl 1 again?

Depends on what you mean by 'chance'.  If you plan on solo killing then no, you run into a long time player and they will destroy you.  Get yourself a good group to run with regularly and learn to play your class, and you'll be destroying folks in no time.

The Battlegrounds are your best bet, lots of fun to be had in the key ones like Thidranki.

Caster classes are better than melee or stealth in terms of leveling the playing field more quickly.
