Ubisoft has posted the latest patch notes for The Crew. Of particular note is the addition of a new PvP mode in the form of a ten-player elimination race. • A Solid Frame to Tune

Ubisoft's The Crew was always going to either be A.) a resounding dud or B.) a pleasantly fun racing experience. And depending upon who you ask, I'm pretty sure that's the range of answers you'll get. The Crew's worth picking up if you're fan of arcade racers and love open and online worlds. Read on for our full review.

  • Review In Progress

Ubisoft's The Crew might be a good overall indication of what we can expect from MMOs in the next several years. How you look at that statement could be a good or a bad thing. I spent the better part of last night and this morning delving into the live service of Ivory Tower's racing MMO. Though I don't think we'll need the usual 4-5 weeks to come to a conclusion about The Crew's performance, because there are only so many different things you can do behind the confines of a car.

  • 'Don't Believe Everything You Read' says Ubi

Ubisoft has an interesting new post on The Crew blog today that lets players know that reviewers will be able to start posting their thoughts as early as the game goes live in December. That announcement comes with the caveat that those reviewers may be basing their thoughts on early versions or beta versions of the game and that writers may not have seen The Crew in its optimal light.

Ubisoft has sent out a tweet that the console beta test for The Crew will resume on November 6th. Both XBox One and PlayStation 4 owners are invited to sign up on the game's official site.

  • Delayed to December 2nd

Ubisoft has announced that The Crew will be delayed to December, about three weeks later than earlier anticipated. The delay is needed, according to Ubi, to give the console beta more time on both PlayStation 4 and XBox One.

  • PAX 2014: Hands on

Games like Mario Kart, which remained mostly about just getting out there on super fun tracks, and games that took on a more realistic approach and went the way of tons of DLC and unlockables. I've mostly found myself playing Mario Kart as my racer of choice, but when Ubisoft unveiled The Crew, I met the announcement with interest. An MMORPG and racing game? In one? How would that work?

  • An Online Version of Cannonball Run

Want to race? How about we take some missions from a massive underground circuit of street racers. Or maybe we just drive cross country? Even better, lets get our Crew together and enter into a massive multiplayer online version of the Cannonball Run. All of those elements make The Crew a premiere racing game, that is happily very much an MMORPG. We were very surprised by the game and while all of us here play MMOs, not all of us are racing fans, but we are now.

  • Closed Beta and Launch Announced!

During E3 in Los Angeles, Ubisoft's racing MMO The Crew got itself a launch date and a closed beta date. Read on for when!

  • A True Racing MMORPG

We only had a brief fifteen minute demo and interview with the dev team (both going on at once) to get a feel for the driving and general overview of The Crew. There are 3rd person and first person driver's seat views, and there's a good chance that Oculus Rift and Sony's own VR will be supported down the line. Racing games, along with FPS titles, are ideal for that kind of headgear, in my eyes. This is one to watch, folks.
