Nice to see some new eye candy, it sure has been a while since last time. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the new engine work has dragged out so long over time that the engine itself isn't enough to solve the decreasing population issue. The rebalancing must also be done, as must the old content overhaul (newbie experience, quests like Sheol and Ado etcetera) and the addition of new content for title levels 4-7. So in other words, FC has a lot of work to do and I hope it's not too late. I would love to reactivate my accounts at some point. |

Meh, Funcom has never really been a large company, and with the Dev team for AO being so small, I can understand why the engine has been in development for longer than most players have been able to keep interest in it. They seem to be making some progression with the Engine, albeit very slow. I hope the AoC team intended to work on the engine helps speeds things along. Groovy. |

Yeah really wanna know what's going on with the Engine! And at this point I do not understand Funcom at all - because this is the only thing which keeps People not coming back. I read it everywhere (youtube, here, even in their forum): We need the Engine in order to re-sub this Game. Can't imagine what takes so long...

I was really believing that there's an engine in work. Months ago. I was defending FC with all my efforts. Now we are into Q2. No sign of any engine; everything is "same old same old". I don't wanna waste more energy upon visiting their sites nor the forum here. I do wish AO and FC all the best, even though I feel this is a mockery towards the fans and FC's customers.
BTW; who the **** cares about any "engine" upgrade in Age of Conan?? Jeez, like that game needs a GFX overhaul... |

Heh- the tech team is now working on the engine update for AO- just read it on the AO twitter. I think they will have a good 10 months worth of work to do.
edited: just my guess- the AoC update pretty much went smooth. |

Almost all the engine work is done - they just needed the coders to help polish off some water and sky issues, according to Means some time back. ~\_/~\_O |

Will there EVER be an engine upgrade? I have lost all hope (almost) for this ever happening. |

It's just a tactic to drag it out longer. If they'd had any intentions of a engine update actually hitting live servers it'd been done five years ago. Hell in this length of time we should've had AO2, and a live video feed of whoever dreamed up Shadowlands being beaten with a potato sack full of doorknobs. |

They just need to make AO 2. I mean we need a great sci fi mmo that isnt crappy Star Trek and Star Wars. Im so sick of those 2 franchises. Give me AO 2 and I will be VERY happy. Playing: EVE online and TL2 |

/s I dont think they are doing this, the engin update for people like you, who will probably log on after its implimented and go "wtf other games have better graphics than this" and leave. They got a small team working from canada on this, and i huge project. Unless were trying to rush funcom into releasing a product before its fully ready to be released... Let them take however long they need, games still going to be around, and what they are doing isnt going to change much else than the skins (not modles) and preformance (it will have GPU capabilities)...its more or less for nostalgic purposes ensuring the game will be playable for years to come. |

I am looking forward to the engine update but at this point I think Funcom should move forward with a new Sci Fi game or just remodel all the character models. |

Sadly, it's kinda too late at this point. Have you even tried to play AO lately?? Go ahead.....try to stand there trading shots with a mob for 5 minutes without freaking out from boredom. AO needs more than an engine upgrade. It needs a proper sequel, with a complete combat revamp. |

I would definitely play if the new engine ever goes live, but at this point I have no faith that it ever will. |

I do agree powerbalance is out of line now... Still, new game would likely be worse... |
