And before you say "There's nothing unbalancing in there!!111!!", while that newbie is scraping through missions and having to run everywhere to get 6 million creds ( while also scraping to buy armor, imps, nanos at the same time ) and then having to run all around hoping to find a low ql yalm, someone can hop on a jetbike in their low 20's and go anywhere they want/need. which means the person who pays in the item mall has quicker access to more of the game than someone who doesn't. |

Sad that you prove my point of opinions. If you want to consider that a item mall, you get it with subscription as a side bonus, but the game is p2p, which within your first month you gain enough PD's to get your freebie flyer. Which besides the average newb can't fly a yalm before 50-60 anyway, and by then they'll know if the game feels right or not. So find something better to be negative towards the game about, although I do see your point, there is no logic to the statement I made with it. |

You obviously forgot that the item shop is open to fr00bs as well. It is not a "bonus" for subscribing. And at 50-60 the average newb still won't have 6 million spare credits on their toon. But $10 in the item shop takes care of that. The item shop therefore provides a necessary ingame item for real money. And please don't try to say a yalm isn't necessary. |

Why are you debating item malls within the context of Anarchy Online (And no I did not forget), and why are you making such a big deal about yalms? I remember back when Yalms were non-obtainable for the average player years ago and we still got by (I couldn't resist sorry). Don't go debating this saying a new player cannot play this game due to a yalm, and I've actually donated plenty of credits to new comer org members to get yalms if they really needed it, but most people I have seen join either like the game or don't, there is no in between. And that's what I'm stating, not whether a yalm is going to change their input simply because they have better transportation. |

Why am I debating item malls within the context of AO? Because you said there isn't one when there is. Pretty simple. |

AO has an Item mall? Shit I didn't even realize and I've been playing AO on and off for years (first as a p2p then a Froob after I sold my account). Playing: EvE, Ryzom |

As much as you seem to be hardcore towards AO and it's "item mall" eyeswideopen. AO is truly considered a P2P game (With free as an option for the original game w/o expacs I know), and you can gain paid points via your subscription OR your direct paid point purchases (Sure go ahead and call that item mall, but it doesn't compare to all other F2P games). I don't consider it a point or a let down to a new player, so again I don't get your point. 6m for a yalm sure that's a lot. 10 bucks for a phasefront also alot (If your really that needing of a yalm and don't have a org before 60), but not a requirement to try the game to see if you like it, which was my original point. Maybe my logic is clouded however, I do have a lot of 220's and been playing since the closed beta, which looking back I'm surprised I didn't quit back then. But I love the game as it is and I'm looking forward to the new engine if it ever comes out. |

I don't give a shit what the OP says. Guys if you never tried this game before and don;t mind Vintage graphics give it a try. You can play it for free for a very long time as the RK content is freaking epic and takes forever to get through the first time playing.
Edit: Recently I logged in with a little level 20 soldier and the freaking RK2 server had like 50-60 guys just chilling in the clan market area. Shit I logged into WAR and I would only see 2-3 guys in the destro city. AO isnt a dead game at all so give it a shot. Playing: EvE, Ryzom |

Well said, and he's right... You lose nothing but time if you're willing to give it a try. And the game is worth it if your willing to look passed the graphics and into the core of the game, which is truly a masterpiece. |

My stickler was you saying it didn't have an item mall when it does. I agree that won't affect someone just wanting to look at the game. Far as that new engine goes, the recent scrapping of the new engine after 2 years of work because the devs realized they have very limited talent just broke the stick that was dangling the carrot. Anyone counting on the "new" engine is wasting their time. |

I was gonna avoid it anyway, saw it along time ago and even now it sounds like a grind.... |

I forget my old account info, I never max'd level... and theres no way I could spend who knows how long to get into the 200s, so unfortunetly this game is a pass for me :( |

leveling is a lot better than it was.
you should try to email support, you can prolly get your account info back. i did. |
|

I got a new toon up to 200 in about a month, and that was playing about 2-3 hours a night max. Leveling is a LOT faster than what it once was as cerebrix posted, and take cerebrix's advice, email support will usually help locate your account. Unless it's banned which a lot were a few years back when exploiting was going through the roof. |

Fast leveling = better leveling ? Not for me better leveling? wtf does that even mean? thats just an argument for the sake of argument. admit it, you dont know why you dont like anarchy online. youre mad about the fact that you dont like it because you want to, and just tried to think of the most disagreeable non statement you could muster to look like you are somehow right.
nice try, but everyone here saw right thru it. |

Don't post when you don't even know what section you're posting in or what game is being discussed. It gives the appearance of a less than optimal education. AO ( NOT AoC ) has as much lag after the ISP change as it did before, more in some cases. It's called crap server and client code. Although the switch from savvis.net was a welcome and needed change, as that is one fucked up ISP.
The poster you're attacking was referring to this part of the original OP - "If you think the new GFX engine will save the day, or even be an asset to the game, I suggest you do a trial on Age of Conan. Lag in Conan is HORRIBLE." So who's the one with a "less than optimal education" exactly? "If one person believes in a being that will take him to a new world when he dies, they label him mad, if many do it they call it religion." |

id like the point out the first character to reach 200 was a clan solder and he soloed the entire thing.
this was pre notum wars when there were TONS of players to team with. explain that mr. its impossible to solo. |

Probably because everyone is in the shadowlands near the end levels, as well as in the new alien zone and that new zone. The game is going downhill quickly. No redo on the engine, the game is all about kiting, in fact kiting is really the only way to level in the game. Prices are outrageous, and the population stinks. Failcom should just let it die, let AoC die and concentrate on secret world. |
