It's neither.

This is an endgame booster pack they are selling for 10$.  Apparently the gfx upgrade is still in the work but i personnally stop believing in it.   You cannot announce a gfx updade and 2 years later still says it's in the work.

Yes you can. Do you know how much there is in-game for them to re-do? A good load!

It certainly is looking better than it ever did great work!

Now they just have to de-focus the guild/group centricity of the entire game along with some local instancing of open world quest npc's to prevent kill stealing (both reasons I and several others left)  which would allow casual players a chance of solo play and I'd be playing it again.

I think the balance of solo versus team/raid content is pretty balanced.  Any profession can go from1 to 220 soloing if they know the game well - not an easy task but is doable. Newbies probably can't solo all the way except on a few professions, and that is as it shoudl be - they should join guilds and learn the game to start.  MMO's are all about teaming and teams/raids/guilds lead for a much easier path thru the game, as they should.

Funcoms' stance has always been that "kill stealing" is not recognized as an offense, which is why it is allowed to happen openly.

The only thing they consider kill stealing is when you kill someone else' pocket boss.

They also refuse, or are unable to ( either through laziness or incompetence ), place open world boss mobs on random spawn timers so they can't be camped and killed like clockwork by the same few people.

The supposed "camp like clockwork mobs that you speak of  spawn randomly since update 17.9. Quite some time now since that went in. You shouldn't spread that false information, especially if you're not a player of this game.  As for other camped mobs like the end-game zone of alien playfield, FC has converted them to instanced.. Pandemonium will soon be instanced too.  That means people can kill it whenever they want.  Just like everything they've been adding recently.

Every one of 'em, huh? Funny, I remember it being only a handful of 'em being changed. And they've been "talking" about instancing Pand for a long, long time. We'll see.

edit: Oh, and I've had my account since beta, and still login ( though not as often since I can't stomach Funcom for very long anymore ). Hope that qualifies well enough for you.

well. u remembered wrong.

about the screenies, yes they are rendered but playing ao on highest settings is just about as good as those screens, it aint that butt ugly IF u can run it on the highest settings since the outdated engine is very heavy on the cpu, my 3 gig dual core is running 50% when im the only player/monster on the screen

Well, then we have different views of the same thing. Because I can run AO with everything on high and no, it doesn't look as good as those screens.  But hey, if you think it does, more power to you.

in some corners of the world it's considered a Metric Butt Ton.
