Asheron's Call 2 : Fallen Kings News - New "Legions" Lore

Posted by Craig McGregor on May 04, 2005  | 0 comments in our forums

Turbine has unveiled a new lore section dedicated to the "Kallikan" - a new creature that will be featured in the expansion.  A snippet from their page below:

The Kallikan are an interesting case. Because of a superficial resemblance, we have named them after the mischievous trickster figures from Isparian Sho mythology. However, as far as we can tell, the creatures are not actually from Ispar. It has been surmised that they were yet another population of alien creatures swept into Auberean by the recent instabilities within portalspace.

Kallikan are malicious creatures, who seem to feel the need to bite and chew everything in sight – including people! Their overdeveloped jaws and teeth are able to snap through steel. Some of us who have studied their physiology have ventured the theory that they are a burrowing race. The only problem with this theory is that we have yet to find any evidence of significant Kallikan tunnels. They have only ever been found above ground. There is no evidence of long-term settlements above ground, however, so it is highly likely that we have simply not found their tunnels.

Kallikan have been found in three of the five regions of Knorr: the Wilds, the Gardens, and the Ramparts. Scouts and explorers have been dispatched throughout the new lands to discover what they can of these bizarre creatures.
