The Firefall summer milestone is shaping up to include some significant changes to the game. The Dreadnaught class will see a major overhaul as part of the summer milestone and today Red 5 Studios are offering gamers a sneak peek video at just what that overhaul will entail.
We've included the video for you below, but if you can't watch it just yet, the short end of it is that Red 5 is giving the Dreadnaught a clearer role in battle as a tanky fighter who wins his fights via attrition rather than outright damage.
On the weapon side of things, the Dreadnaught's minigun has been tweaked to be less effective at long range while becoming a devastating force up close. Of course, if you decide to deploy yourself into turret mode, this disadvantage is eliminated and you're even given a wider firing arc to boot!
Ability-wise, the Dreadnaught will receive two new abilities: the tentatively named, "Teleport Shot", which will telport the player to the target it hits after three seconds and "Gravity Field", a deployable field that will redirect projectiles fired through it.
Finally, the Dreadnaught has been slowed down such that it is now the slowest class in the game. This was done to make closing the gap part of the skill of playing the class.
