MMORPG's Guide to Building a New Gaming Rig

Finding that right combination that is still budget-conscious but pushes for every extra frame can be tough, but I've spelled out an awesome build that balances both power and cost for something that will handle any top quality game or MMO you could toss at it while still ensuring that you won't need to worry about upgrading for a number of years.Posted Apr 8, 2016 by Steven Messner

Hardware Review: Roccat Renga Gaming Headset

Emblazoned, white on black, on the left monitor of Roccat’s new Renga headset are these words: “studio grade sound.” It also appears on the box, but words in a feature list pack less of a punch than bold stenciling on the product itself. A feature list might be forgotten, but you’ll never forget a promise so bold as one you’re reminded of every single day. It takes confidence to make a move like that, and with a $50 price point, more than a little daring.Posted Mar 20, 2016 by Christopher Coke

SteelSeries APEX Gaming Keyboard Review

We recently went hands-on with Steelseries’ Apex Gaming Keyboard. Featuring five zones of active RGB backlighting and 22 macro buttons, the APEX should be the stylish MMO player’s dream. But does it live up to its promise? We tell you what we think in our official review!Posted Dec 22, 2015 by Christopher Coke

The MSI GE72 Apache Pro Laptop

Laptops and desktops are different to review, we have to put them through their paces like we would any machine, and then we must return them to the manufacturer because they cost a lot. I won’t be returning the MSI GE72 Apache Pro, though. I’m keeping this baby, and paying MSI whatever they’re asking. It’s been that pleasurable of a machine to use, and one I’m all too inclined to keep using for the next couple of years.Posted Dec 15, 2015 by William Murphy

SteelSeries Siberia 200 Headset Review

Today I had the pleasure of testing out the SteelSeries Siberia 200 Gaming Headset. After opening the box and getting out the goods, the first PRO right off the bat was the Headset itself. I felt like I was holding a cloud, it’s incredibly light and also aesthetically pleasing ie. It has good looks... In terms of addons and accessories, the headset did come with a mic splitter which is good for travel and allows for 2 people to watch a movie on 1 device with 2 pairs of headphones.Posted Dec 9, 2015 by Ripper X

Steam Link and Controller: The Solution to MMOs from the Couch?

Let's get this out of the way first, if you're considering buying these two pieces of hardware it should be because your setup needs a change. If you're content to play MMORPGs and PC games from your desk, using mouse and keyboard or an Xbox 360 controller, you don't need either of them.Posted Dec 5, 2015 by Christopher Coke

Roccat Nyth MMO Mouse Review

Everyone, at least in MMO gaming circles, knows about the Razer Naga and Logitech G600 these days. Two of the best options for MMO fans, with their multitude of buttons and configurations, it would be doubly hard for a new competitor to enter the MMO Mouse ring and do something to stand out. Well, that’s just what Roccat has done with the new Nyth. Posted Aug 24, 2015 by William Murphy

Razer Deathstalker Chroma Review

Razer announced a new addition to their line of peripherals at Gamescom this month, the Deathstalker Chroma. Roccat Ryos TKL Pro Mechanical Keyboard

Being a PC gamer means rising to the challenge. Whether you casually play MMOs or are a competitive e-sports aficionado, at some point you’ve looked at your hardware and wondered whether it was time to upgrade. Most of us overlook the keyboard, or maybe make our choices based on the lighting options. That’s a problem, as the Roccat Ryos TKL mechanical keyboard so easily proves.Posted Jan 25, 2015 by Christopher Coke

The Alienware Alpha: Our Review

I’ll admit, when I first heard about Alienware’s plans to release a handful of console-sized PCs with a modified version of Steam’s Big Picture (a prelude to their own SteamOS), I was a bit confused. It seemed almost as though Alienware just wanted to be one of the first to put out a Steam Box, before the competition. And maybe that’s the case, because one could simply install Steam OS on the Alpha and be done with it. Posted Dec 20, 2014 by William Murphy

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Review

The NVIDIA GTX 780 and its Ti partners are still incredibly solid cards, and for MMO gamers, even a 600 series will do you well for another year or two with most games. But the NVIDIA GTX 980 Superclocked ACX 2.0 is probably more than enough card for folks looking to upgrade from the 600 series to something that will last them and help usher them into the era of 4K resolution.Posted Oct 14, 2014 by William Murphy

MSI GT72 Dominator Preview: More like GT72 Sominator

While I do most of my online and PC gaming on a desktop, there’s certainly a big part of me that would like to have a top-of-the-line gaming laptop on hand, just because. At least the gaming laptop would cost a tiny fraction of the Sesto Elemento’s $2 million+ price tag, and would allow me to play The Witcher 3 comfortably on my couch.Posted Jul 18, 2014 by Som Pourfarzaneh
