We hit ten Q&As with the folks at EverQuest II

Akil Hooper, the Design Supervisor for EverQuest II: Echoes of Faydwer answers a couple questions and shows off some new screenshot as we continue our Q&A series.

MMORPG.com: What’s your favorite low level dungeon in the Echoes of Faydwer? What makes it special?
Akil Hooper:

I’d have to say Crushbone Keep is personal favorite low level dungeon in Echoes of Faydwer. The zone has a great layout, and can support quite a few groups. The zone looks great and is well laid out, with obvious targets for your group, and lots of nice places to get good gear for a lower level player. Crushbone was also one of the zones I had the fondest memories of from my EQ 1 days, and its great to see the zone revitalized with EQ II’s flair.

MMORPG.com: Will adornment as the name imply… also have a graphic? Like the jewel you place in your diadem to give you +INT or the spike you place on your club for +DMG?
Akil Hooper:

The current implementation of adornments won’t have any associated graphics. As the system evolves and grows its something that we would like to add, but appearances aren’t going to change for the initial release.

MMORPG.com: What are you most excited about in Echoes of Faydwer?
Akil Hooper:

I’m not sure if I can pick just one. Its exciting to see all of my old stomping grounds revised and revisited, having the opportunity to play in some of my favorite areas again. However I’d have to say I’m most excited about cloaks. The addition of a new, visible slot is pretty huge for us, and the different customization options available are going to make cloaks a lot of fun.

MMORPG.com: How big is Faydark compared to the mainland of Antonica/TS/Nek/Commonlands?
Akil Hooper:

In terms of acreage, Faydwer is more than half the size of the original EQII world that we launched with. Our goal is to make the layouts much more interesting to adventure in, with plenty of places to explore and discover – and we're not talking about empty, wide-open spaces here!

MMORPG.com: How much of the new content is built for the new race and how much is for the level 70's?
Akil Hooper:

Around half of the content in the expansion is relevant to a person who is at the higher end of EQII. This counts some zones that will mostly be blue and green at level 70, as well as some that may be orange to a level 70 player. The other half of the content is spread throughout the lower level ranges. In Echoes of Faydwer, new content for levels 1 through 50 takes into account the large amounts of content that already exists in the world for those level ranges. While you will be able to play on Faydwer from level 1 all the way to 70, we expect that most players will continue to visit the old world, as well as the Adventure Packs.
