Furcadia: Tried it, uninstalled it on the first day.
General Discussion « Furcadia 3/25/09 11:10:37 PM
As said in the other Furcadia reviews here, this game isn't worth a shot unless you like to chat all day or you love furry animals. The only pluses are it's truly a free-to-play game aimed at children, and no lag at all.
Graphics: 3/10. It's terrible. It's worse than the old RuneScape. Enough said.
Fun: 5/10. It's better if you start off with friends, for it is like a chatroom with tiny drops of 'dream' rooms. You get lost a lot. There's not even a minimap to help you.
Sound: 2/10. Terrible sound everywhere.
Community: 10/10 Everyone is nice here. There's even this helper, which name I forgot, for newbies. You can even apply to be a helper. Another plus. But then again, not too many people play Furcadia.
Role-Playing: 3/10 You just walk around. Terrible game.
Performance/Lag: 10/10. No lag, probably because of lack of features.
Value: 4/10 I personally hate it.
Service: 9/10 The service is overall great because of the helpers.
Overall, I think it stinks. But if you're into a game to chat and create dream rooms, this game is for you. 3/10 rating. |

Dream of Mirror Online: A Good Game?
General Discussion « Dream of Mirror Online 3/25/09 9:52:12 PM
I've remembered AeriaGames had this in their game list. What do you think? Tell me everything, the pros, the cons. I'm an 'everything goes' online gamer, but prefers MMORPGs more than any game genre. Graphics good? Is it a grind? Does it play on Windows XP? K, stuff like that you need to answer. |

Looks like my old review is outdated, and I'll get more into depth into this one. I came across this game out of random. RuneScape was my first MMO I've played, but MapleStory revealed my true potenial as a gamer. After playing for what, 3-5 years, here I am today, looking for a decent MMO to get on, like what MS have done to me for a few years.
Let's start with the Cash Shop. I still think using real money on a NX you really want is pretty waste of 'precious' money. Just to make yourself look good? It's going to expire. Now for some categories and ratings with it.
First Impression: (Graphics, Organization, Easy-To-Memorize Keys) The graphics are wonderful. Though the graphics may lag you, depending on the setting you put in. The organization is magnificent. The keys are easily changed to your preferences. There's no doubt. 10/10 for this category.
Fun: Besides being a grind fest, it's rather fun. However, I found it very hard to level after about level 20. Party quests get old, and quest rewards are terrible. All quests help you get experience. Bosses come later, or when you fight that giant slime in Kerning City Party Quest, but the real bosses come in the later levels. 6/10 for this one.
Community: Often times you will find someone who'll call you a noob every now and then. Then comes big chucks of total assholes who show off, often the people who are higher levels than you. Kill stealers (or ksers for short) tend to do their thing, kill steal, thus you share experience or that kser will get the experience. Or people who threaten to bug report or to defame, or to do whatever. I had enough friends to keep me going, however. 3/10 for this one. Thanks to my buddies for keeping three scores up.
Sound: The sound completely fits the mood of the town, or the dungeon. Most of the maps I've trained and grind on had exciting music. 9/10 for this category.
Customer Service: I haven't met one GM, but I reported tons of hackers and it did nothing to the account. I was never replied to. 1/10 for this one.
All in all, 28/50. Makes a 7/10 IMO. |

This game is dead, that's why. The last time I played (which was years ago) there were a ton of gamers. Friendly community, too. |

MapleStory is really a great game. But grinding. You have to find good monsters to hunt for, and it depends on your level and your current job. E.G. Warriors lvls 10-15 are good in the Slime Tree. The boss monsters, even the new ones recently added (there's now a slime boss monster) are really great. Spawning time is unexpected, and it's still great. But still. The grinding. They waste real money just to look good in the Cash Shop. Though the pet system is good, too. All in all, I'd rate it 7/10. Because of the low experience, and you dying (if you're not a Beginner/Perma Beginner) just makes it worse. Better than losing most of your items. *stares at RuneScape* |
