If I remember correctly WOW at beginning didn't have much raiding. They had few raid encounters and one raid dungeon right? They added more raid zones later. Also WOW PVP at beginning sucked. They added that later too. WAR does have PVE end game for groups. WAR has 3 dungeons that comes available after you take over a city i think. So like most games I expect they will add more PVE and RVR content in updates in months following the release. |

A mix of RVR and PVE is my prefered style. Luckilly the main end game of city sieging has both. |

Originally posted by Keeper2000 Great question. It failed for many reasons but the main, imo, was becasue Mythic started to walk the WoW path, instead of the WAR path. DAoC was fully RvR oriented at first, like WAR. But then they started adding content. And the content wasnt RvR one... was PvE one. Suddenly, people had to raid for hours and hours to get MLs, Artis, better gear. Then they added more PvE content: crafting. So people templated themselves (making gear more and more important). All this is the WoW path: PvE path. They learned from their mistakes, it seems. I hope the future content they add keep improving RvR more than PvE. I hope they dont follow the WoW's path (a terrible game, raidfest, grindfest, gear oriented and without real PvP).
Your wrong. Alot people quit DAOC well before they added alot PVE content because of lack of PVE content. Artifacts were added in third expnasions and alot people had already quit before then. Facts is majority of players like PVE as much or better than RVR. People tend get tired of doing same think over and over no matter how fun RVR is people want good PVE to fall back on for change of pace. Reason DAOC isn't doing great is the PVE aspect of the game wasn't that great to begin with and basically once a game loses a great many players its hard to get those players toc ome back and harder to get new players cause the hype is on other games. You better hope the put as much focus on PVE as they on RVR in future major updates because alot players want good PVE to do along with RVR to keep players interested. WAR is suppose be a mix of RVR and PVE and its a good idea to have alot to do in both types of gameplay cause doing just one all the time tends to get boring fast.

Part of the main end game is city sieging. Each city has 3 PVE dungeons you get access to once you take over. Thats part of end game. Also I think the king is PVE too? So War does have PVE for end game but not as much at launch. I expect WAR will get major PVE content updates too later. First expansion will hopefully offer alot PVE updates too. JUst at launch the focus was getting PVP or RVR down but PVE is there. |

3Just go to you local store when it releases in stores and check. I'm sure some people would probally have cancelled and downgraded to the SE. Alot people got CE to just get into beta before SE could too. Its a chance there might be one available but its not positive

So grouping together PVP and RVR isn't really wrong when RVR is a type of PVP just with distinct sides. |

I don't even see why WOW fanboys seem to be so worried about other games, Its not like WOW has a problem with subscribers. WOW is PVE game. PVP in WOW is such a small portion of the game. Combat may be different in WAR and WOW but base game is totally different. Talking about slow combat why don't you WOW fans talk about slow pathetic pace of WOWs main end game of Raiding. I suppose WOW people can't take slower combat but can take Raiding THE Same Zones over and Over for chance at a Piece of loot for weeks and months to get gear just to move to the next tier and raid it over and over just as long to move to next zone and repeat. The fact is majority of people play MMOs for PVE and loot. Hence as repetive as WOW raiding system is people do it cause getting loot is fun. WAR is PVP based game and not as much PVE and that is why its won't kill any game since majority of MMO fanbase like PVE and like loot. Its not the combat of WAR its plain and simple not enough PVE and loot that people don't like the most. I played DAOC ofr 3 years in row at launch and saw the player base drop fast because players went back to PVE based games with more loot. DAOC first expansion was PVE mainly but it came too late. No matter how fun RVR people like good PVE to fall back on and if WAR don't deliver on PVE front people will go back to PVE based games. Face it PVE is just as important as RVR to keep players playing. Some people are hardcore PVPers but most people prefer both PVE and PVP. |

Only if WAR has some good PVE content updates too. Majority of MMOers while liking to PVP some loves PVE even more. I love RVR personally but I love PVE too. DAOC lost alot of customers in its first few months of release cause PVE was lacking and only people who liked RVR stayed and gave the game a chance and Mythic did alot PVE content later in the games life but was too late . Hope WAR has enough PVE end game to keep players playing until major content updates come out and so on. RVRing all the time just doesn't work for most people need mix in some good PVE to keep it fun. Lets face it more players whyo play an RVR game the funner it is and heres hoping Mythic can keep most players playing for a while. |

That gives people a week of open beta to try it some and then early access will be 3ish days to try it for real. Open beta will still be part of testing just not for bugs mainly but stress test on servers. for those people really interested in WAR they will get into open beta for a week no matter hwta cause those people will most likely have already preordered. |

Do a file check. If using Utorrent stop the download and right click and click force re-check. Not sure if that will help or not. |

All CE people are guaranteed a spot in open beta and from sounds of it will start with a preview weekend for CE people i guess. Its less than 5 week till release so I don't expect CE people who got in clkosed beta will have long to play before open begins. My guess is they are maybe using CE people to test the new servers they are putting up first maybe.

I sure they will be running more than one open beta server. There were 60k CE and plus now standard editions get in too thats alot of people. I sure they will wipe the servers once open beta is over to use them as game servers for launch. |

Another stupid post, If you want play WAR or any other MMO over WOW play them. Why worry about a game you don't want to play. Be a fan of WAR but why bash other games or talk about other games on the WAR forums. I plan on playing WAR and could care less about how WOW is doing or any other MMO for that fact. Shouldn't matter when WOW dies to anyone who don't like WOW or anyopne who finds another MMO in the future play what is fun to you and worry about that game.

WAR is in the final phase of beta before open beta aka the guild phase. Since the guild phase started they have sent out invites 3 or 4 more times. Almost everything is in the game already that suppose to make launch. Mythic is starting to send out invites more frequently. I think open beta will start early to mid august and mid to late september release. From everything that we heard the game is mostly already complete and everything is mostly in beta that suppose be in launch if nothing major is broke. |
