I thought that I would mention that some investors are trying to clean up the mess.   Will they be successful....???  I doubt it.  BUT, there are some good people trying.  

I highly doubt the craigslist post was of any validity.   Put your self in the shoes of a group of investors trying to fix the problems...they would not post on Craigslist.

Is a big fake! Yeah, the environments look good with some tweaking. But the rest of it was all scripted. It wasn’t real! It’s not the game you’ll never get to play.     Are their blinders that thick on the SWG forums that they dont see this?

SOE was famous for releasing videos of games that were just as phony.   
 

????  I guess you have not really seen the game.  Those are the environments that I have seen.  No, this is not actual game play.  I think everyone can see that it is not actual game play -- so why state the obvious.  There is no deception here.  There is no game display or user interface running trying to pretend otherwise.  But, it does represent the environments and graphics I have seen personally.  So, yes, the game environments are represented here.

What if tomorrow a movie star investor puts 50 million more into the game?   Is it still not legit?   What if they reprogram it from zero? What if God programs it himself?  You make some pretty big statements.  I do think success is a steep hill for CME.  Regardless of the failure of CME, can't you attempt a small amount of consideration to the other side?   You make statements that are really not totally, absolutely true.   Perhaps a miracle could happen(?)  Ok, maybe not, but.......hey, why not hope?  I like a lot of your thoughts....but, through the other side a bone a little more often.   You sound like a FanOri of the Anit-FanOri.

Hey Orthotdh, welcome back buddy. Any update on the Gary Whiting ousting you mentioned? You've failed to answer questions about the timeframe, etc. in the other thread. Instead of trying to plant happy future MMO feelings, how about you update us on what's really going on.

My take is that Gary Whiting, Tim Jensen, Rod N., and even Dan Elggering had plenty of opportunities to correct their problems. However, they kept making bad decision after decision -- right down to the first time they were running out of money. What did they do? They spent all that money in Leipzig. Still, they know the well is running dry, they don't cut their cash draining companies (mass illusions, hand cranked and even superstition studios). I'm guessing just those two mistakes cost 6 months of development dollars.  

And for the hell of it, why not consider how when they are out of money, they make an investment in that racing team in february 2009.  That was when the borrowed money from Nedra and they thought MMOGULS was going to save the company?    Oh, another brainchild decision.

Bottom line, too many people out to make a quick buck were left in charge, and nobody did anything about it.

I'm getting the feeling you are not an investor, but a impostor – a bipolar impostor. One moment you want Gary castrated and the next you want everyone singing “kumbaya” around a campfire. 
 
 

Hello.  I never left.  I don't think that I am bipolar.  My feelings have not changed.  I have lost more money than one very vocal poster on here.  He talks like the end of the world has happened--no, just a bad investment.  The sun will rise tomorrow.  You read as if you might be an investor too.  I can't add a lot as I don't know that much.  (I'm a small fish.)   The truth is often a hard thing to find.  The context in which decisions are made in life is even harder to find.  

I've lost some money, but life will go on....one requirement for the original investment is that you are a qualified investor and can afford to loose the money.  Many people here seem more angry than I am.   It seems clear that many poor decisions have been made by 'management.'  

I know that there is a process taking place by many investors trying to correct some problems;  this is all I have to say.  I enjoy reading the comments.  The power of free information and community is amazing.  I love it.  The insights here have been very helpful.

Oh, well...earlier I tried to explain that any new money would not be controlled by Whiting.  This is one of the reasons new funding is difficult. 

If the game is poorly programmed or bad, it would seem natural to be hard to correct regardless of the money available.  So, I'm very interested in any objecting, concrete opinion regarding the quality of the game.  If beta and alpha was extremely poor compared to others....not good.  Is it possible that they only allowed very limited exposure to the game at the time?  I've seen a lot of the game that has not been seen or used in videos or beta...but, I don't know what I am seeing.  Why did they not include these areas in beta.  Is this normal?   I think part of the reason beta was so limited was $. 

So, I'm not sure how to evaluate the quality of the game/programming.  Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the help.  I don't want to invest anymore into a terribly programmed game.  

 

A few questions for you Orhotdh: 

1. Have you been asked to invest additional funds?   (hopefully you wouldnt be so stupid to help fund Gary's divorce)
2. Have you been in the CME offices (recently) and seen the game run?   (Dan was doing his job telling you the game was great as he had a family to support.  Welcome to the reality of the situation.)
3. Have you asked CME how many 3D engine programmers they have left?    (answer zero, but they got interns!)
4. Have you ever seen a screen shot released (recently) with all the wonderful effects of the engine turned on?  (I just keep seeeing poop released)
5. Have you ever seen a screen shot or video with multiple players in it, that looked good?  (I would die to see this myself)

1.   Of course.   ??...the check is not written to Gary.  Why would you be against helping Gary's poor wife get a divorce?  It sounds like it would be good for her.  You would be amazed at how STUPID that I can be.  My best work is when I'm STUPID.  Generally, I don't know anything more than being STUPID.  If only all the brilliant people in the world would share their brilliance--mostly, they sit on the side and throw stones at people. 
 

2.  Yes.  I've played it too.  Dan no longer works for CME.  His family is just fine.  Funny thing...he is not sitting on the side throwing stones....

4. 5.  I've seen and played the game.  It has better graphics than anything I see in other games out there.  Why do the release the poor graphics....I don't know...marketing(?)  Later, maybe they will spring how good the game is on all of us.   I don't know if the game is as fun as others....but I had fun playing it.   I don't think they are all idiots.

 Update:  Currently many investors are working on removing Gary Whiting from any 'decision making position' relative to CME.   They do not trust him and want him out.  Until this is completed new investments to complete the game have been very difficult.  Stay tuned.   His power may be gone soon.  I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong location....I'm an angry  investor...not a computer pro.   I'll keep you posted.  

Again.....so.  They are broke.....done.  We will wait and soon learn that both MMOGULS and CME are broke.  Why keep rehashing that the company is not loaded with money?   Gary Whiting is doing TERRIBLE THINGS.....so.  Perhaps he will go to jail.   Next.    

Sounds to me like he is trying to save a poor company.  I don't think this is the first in the world.  Lawsuits are definitly not unique in America.   

I don't understand why some people are sooooo excited about Gary Whiting's business deals.  I've heard he did realestate too!!     wow.  If you are not forced into being a part of a multi level deal to play stargate worlds...so what(?)  Maybe he also sells Marijuana  on the side!!!!  So???  If the MLM deal effects game play...then Stargate Worlds will fail leading to Gary having multiple failed companies.  SWEETTT!!!    

So, get over it.    (Maybe....he is also the guy in Africa that is emailing everyone needing back account information too?? )
