full screen works fine i just wanted to try window mode an could nt get back . i would say the chances that theres something wrong with my computer because one game has problems in window mode when everything else is working fine is extremly unlikly . i also just reformatted it because i ve recently moved and changed isp . so decided to have a bit of a spring clean . i also regulary defrag use anti spyware software , clean out my start menu my using the msconfig so theres nothing running in the background i dont want there to be .

everything else is works fine even tried warcraft trial to see how that was running earlier and no problems there . no problems in lord of the rings either

its just warhammer .

This is Bogus.  My resolution is 1600 x 1200 but I play the game in a lower res setting than that adn there are no alignment issues for me.  No professional game programmer would ever program their interface to be so incredibly faulty.  There are dozens of ways to code around this and all of them are elementry school in programming. 

actually this would make sence as to why i had the problem but i agree if it is indeed a fault with the progamming it really is very unproffessional . its something i ve never come across before in any game i ve played . some games even offer  a safe mode start or even allow you to access the settings in a seperate program in the start menu shortcuts . warhammer offers neither of these  . hopefully they ll recifty this in the future but for now this is a very real problem . what i m doing is reinstalling the game because its the easiest solution but its annoying because its something i feel i should nt have to do . lets just say it does nt make me warm to warhammer .

btw you can change back to fullscreen mode if you actually bother to look in the files for Warhammer Online.  Most settings ilke that are held in a set of scripts you can easily change yourself.

actually we pretty much have the same setup apart from the fact i have 3 gigs of ram . i ve already bothered  to look in the warhammer files . i m pretty well versed with pcs so thats the frist thing i did . although i m always willing to learn something new . if you can find the file your talking about i would appreciacte if you can place the information in this forum .

I play in Window mode & have never had any of those problems. 

When I want to access my desktop I just hit the Windows key & the taskbar appears.

I do this quite often to check quest details etc via Google & it has always worked fine for me. 

yeah i d been doing that as well i just decided to try window mode for a change so i could talk to someone one msn while it was in window . i ve never had this problem before with any other mmo and i ve tried pretty much every one of them .

Actually no more so than Warcraft was in its first months . Wow definatly is more slick but it should be its several years old now . There are a few things in Warhammer that need to be sorted out . Such as allowing player to enter balltegrounds (senarios) in the middle of public quest areas . You must ve only played tier 1 and maybe a little of tier 2 . I ve had no porblem finding people to pve quest with or do world pvp with . The problem also it being the first month many people were still sussing out the game and took the fastest leveling option . Thats starting to change a lot now .Give Warhammer 6 months and it ll be every bit a slick as Warcraft is now and be there ready and waiting to snap up all wow players bored with the new content .

IMO it is as good as wow was in its first year . Once theres a free trial i think it will proberbly get 1-2 million subs by the end of its first year .Nowhere near as good as wow but still the strongest competition to date .

As for the wowkiller well thats a few years away i think . It ll only come when we all have a lot faster pcs and can play a game that makes wow look like ultima looks now in comparison .

Till then Warhammer and Warcraft will be the two biggest beasts in the jungle .

the truth is both of these games are good in thier own way .

warcraft offers decent pve and a nice game world .its a game i find i can switch to window mode chat to people on msn when i want to and relax . the battle ground pvp is fun . its a little slow to get into because you ll be questing most of the first month or so depending on how much you play . you ll get into a few instances and maybe get into a good low level guild . it will proberbly take you 3-4 months to get to the more interesting aspects of gameplay like pvp and high level instances .

warhammer offers action packed gameplay really from the first couple of days . its far more in your face than wow so its not really something you can play in window mode or travel around farming herbs for gold etc etc . but it must be played on a server with a good population . warhammer is unlike warcraft in that respect . it heavily relys on pvp . this means if you play on a low server your really going to have a dull experiance .

personally i like both depending on my mood .

warhammers one for people who like to slug it out . essentially its a constant battle  . warcraft is a very well realised virtual world with elements of pvp thrown in *mostly when you feel like it .

they are in fact equals in quality but are games that are at oppersite ends of the spectrum .

try it on another server or if your someone that enjoys pvp try warhammer instead because it makes warcraft look very dull in terms of that style of gameplay . if you like pve stick with wow because wow does to the pve better .

i started war a little later than most i d just moved and my internet was down for the best part of a month . so i came in about 10 days before the  initial influx of people came to the end of thier first month . i started out as a squig herder on a server where the population fell quite sharply . i found by level 14 i was getting very bored and found it dull .

someone i know in game recomened another server and i ve since been playing a rune priest there and i ve found the game transformed . the grind is far less than in warcraft and its action packed at every level . i ve got into 80 man world pvp battles and lots of smaller skimishes when doing public quests ,

if you like pvp this game has far more to offer you than warcraft . what it does nt do is cater for people whos soul interest is pve . thats not to say the pve is nt enjoyable . its no more of a grind fest than warcraft or any other mmo for that matter.

the senarios which are like the battlegrounds are a lot of fun and thes more than the 4 (  or 5 ) that warcraft have to offer . again if you play on a medium - high server you dont find yourself in the same one all the time from tier 2 onwards . in tier one people do seam to favour nordonwatch over the other two .

the one thing i would say is unlike warcraft  , warhammer is reliant on players to make it work well and there does have to be enough of them on a server for you to actually understand the full potential of the game .

the game may still lack a little polish but no more so than warcraft did in its opening months . i ve tried most mmos that have been released in the last few years and this is the best i ve seen since warcraft was released . by no means is it another age of conan , vanguard or tabuala rasa .

above all if you like pvp . this is fun . let the pve crowd have warcraft and repedative instances ,let the serious rpg crowd have lord of the rings and let the scifi crowd have eve online .they are all great games . but if you like strong action packed pvp try warhammer .

Actually when did you ever see a troll say the game is good like i ve done and actually suggest ways of improving population numbers that are at present falling . If anything i want to flame about this game and say how good it is . because i believe it should be successful . But unless some action is taken now its unlikly  it will be . I  give my reasons for that , people coming into the the game now are not getting the experiance they should be at the lower levels and this could easily be put right by getting and influx of new players via a free trial .

Where is the the trolling in that ???? 

If i wanted to troll i would come on here and say . This is the worst game i ve seen in years its bugged to hell etc etc etc ... but its not . In fact its vastly better than all the other mmos i ve  seen released in a number of years . But its starting to fail and unless thats acknowlaged and the correct course of action taken it will not be the success it should be.

Read what is actually said before you react or you make yourself look foolish .

As warhammer enters it second month the problem is becoming very clear . for a pvp orientated game to survive . It needs a decent volume of players . Most european servers are now medium at best . i ve started up a second character and i m finding its not easy to get into a scenario or find players for public quests . There needs to be enough players at these levels to make things interesting or the majority of people wont stay .

So here are three reasons why war needs a free trial

1/ Without it there will be no viable low level world community which will equal war getting a bad name quickly inspite of its potential .

2/People may be interested in war but they dont know if it will run on thier pc well .

3/The majority of people are wary of buying a new product because of all the problems associated with the likes of vanguard .

Personally i think they will drag thier feet and we wont see the thing that could save warhammer untill its far too late .

Once again we ll see stupidity triumph in the mmo gaming industry over common sence and another mmo will be consigned to list of could have beens . Which is a shame because this game gets right more than it gets wrong . Its really down now to them doing the smart thing and doing it quickly .
