World of Warcraft: What to Do With your Shaman
News Discussion « General Discussion 8/12/09 8:40:36 PM
I'm pretty sure when the guy says this is for new players that this info would be good for new players, how about READING before opening your traps. Also these guys never put everything in one post, which irritates me but as usual it's quite obvious he'll put more down later.
Irritating yes, but geeze you all need to stop freaking out over stupid stuff. Or just go back to playing wow and flashing your epeens at your epic knowledge. |

The game is great, well besides the fact it's the only game I can go take a shit while on auto-pilot and come back and still not be at my destination.
The biggest problem is, all the players that have been around years longer will always, ALWAYS be at more of advantage than you. Even if you bought a metric shit ton of ISK from a farmer because the way skills work you'll always be at a disadvantage. There will never be a way for you to compete unless you run across someone who's totally incompetent.
You MUST join a corp, bow to their wishes, and hope like hell you ain't just there to keep a chair warm for someone else.
I will say however that the community on a whole is by far the best I've ever seen. The game is flawless in functional design (bugginess, lag and shit like that doesn't exit) and their tech support is by far the best ever. |

56 hours later, got it.
I wonder if that says something about the game......... |

I've tried to sign up for the free trial. But I'm not recieving my acctivation codes. I've put in my email several times and hit "resend" several times, also tried contacting support but I always get a message saying they're currently not available.
I was thinking maybe it has somethign to do with the fact I'm using a yahoo email account. There was one other game years ago that you had to use a pop3 email account or some such non-sense, not one of the third party types like yahoo, gmail etc. Is that the case?
I still can't convince myself to spend 2 bucks just to give the game a try. |

Can you run it? <--clicky |

First your game won't run. Once you've purchased and activated TBC on your account not having it installed will make your game not work. Second whether you own the expansion or not all the changes made by the expansion STILL effect your game. Third most of the people that I know that want to go back to "old school" whatever want this because of the changes to most of the raids. Changes that are still in effect even if you don't own the TBC expansion. See the above. (raid changes aren't my reasons, and this obviously doesn't apply to everyone that might want a roll back of sorts) Fourth ****put something extremely rude here and apply it to yourself**** |

I'd go for that. It will never happen though. |

You CAN take a pc game back to a store. There have been about 6 threads on this single topic several times in the last few months here on MMORPG. It has been proven with out a shadow of a doubt that you CAN take pc games back to the store and get full cash refunds. Some of these means may be dis-honest at times, but it is possible to do so. If the guy says he took his game back, he more than likely did. You can't prove he didn't so do not call him a liar.
Here's the facts, technically no pc software is supposed to be retrunable. Every time someone takes software back to a store and is able to return it, the store is breaking the law. Some stores, like my local Gamestop, will NOT take software back, under any circumstances unless it is to exchange it for a like item. Which is odd because there's another gamestop down the road that takes returns like Wal-Mart. Which brings me to another point, the Wal-Mart closest to me won't take software returns of any kind, regardless of whether it's for like items and if you bitch about it they'll have security escort you out. While another Wal-Mart a little further away will take anything back, even a pair of shoes that's 6 months old, smells like warmed over tuna as long as you give them even a retarded excuse.
Technically, software is NOT returnable once opened (also depending on wording, even if its not opened its not returnable) unless exchanged for a like item.
So folks that insist that it's not returnable may live in an area where their retailers actually obey the law. |

If WAR does to trial accounts that WoW and CoX has done that won't do the gold sellers any good. They'll be so crippled they'll never make enough gold to sell.
If they have to continuosly buy a new account every time they get banned, that is directly cutting into their profits, no profits, then leave to find another game. 49.99$ every ban, awesome. (at least for the first 6 months then the game will hit 19.99, at least thats how things usualy work around here) Get fucking ban happy is all I gotta say. It WILL stop the gold selling.
Blizzard's massive blow was to "peonsforhire" and it didn't help because they won't go after any of the rest of them. The thing about fighting a "war" against anything is you have to keep fighting it till you actually beat them so far down into the dirt they can't get back up, or won't get back up. Blizzard sued, won, then sat their fat asses back down and stopped doing jack shit against the rest of them. |

WarBummer Online - What happened to RPGs?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 9/19/08 10:57:32 PM
I'd have to agree with the OP.
I want more than mindless pvp, which means WAR is out. /sigh, yes I know it's not pvp it's RVR and beatin' the snot actually means something when it really doesn't cause all it is, is a BG with different textures. I don't really like pvp much, but I dislike it even more when it's pointless.
Nothing currently out has anything to offer anyone that wants any sort of depth, or for lack of a better term, character construction that makes me feel like I've actually accomplished something with my character. The few games out that did make me feel that way got castrated (NGE'd), or cancelled because EA doesn't like competition so they buy the developer, and kill off their projects.
