Celebrity Investor Continues to acquire FUNCOM stocks

Great, another random guy from Oslo, Norway giving out false positive information about Age of Conan. You have a source for this? I thought so.. This celebrity investor estimated Age of Conan has about 70k subs and I for one believe her much more than some random guys on a MMO forum. She is smart and probably has plenty of good sources to back up her theory. I think it's safe to say that Age of Conan has 70-100k subs at the moment. It's not that bad for a niche game. Question is, can they get back all those players who left after launch?
Great, another random guy from Stockholm, Sweden misinderstanding talk about stocks for subscriber numbers. I was talking about the S T O C K. It was down below 2,50 nok at all time low and is now closing in on 4 nok. |

The itemization still reminds me of a F2P Korean game The AH system, mail system and oter social features still have a long way to go to meet modern MMO standards. they have made improvements that I will grant, but it still has a long long way to go before I would recommend it to any of my friends
Well, noone but FC knows how many new recipies they added, you can easily gather from the forums that it has to be more than 10 times half a dozen.. And probably a lot more then that, since most wont be posted in the forum anyway. The recipies are not in one area of the crafting system as it is both weapons, armour and resource recipies. There is lot to be said about Anarchy Online, but one thing that game has is a very complicated and intricate crafting system with allmost endless possibilities. That makes me confident we will get a lot of improvements in that aspect in AoC too, when the crafting/itemization/gem revamp comes up in patch 5. But I agree with you that if you are a major crafter and want to spend most of your time crafting in AoC, then I would suggest you wait it out until the crafting system revamp is in place. |

Both the itemization and crafting is not the same as at launch. There is still work to be done, for sure, but there has been some major improvements in theese fields. Anyone can have a look at the patch notes to see this for themselves. Saying that noone wants crafted items is at best untrue. The new cultural/city armours are selling very well and are very sought after. They have added greater variety in looks on characters too. And last but not least; alchemy has had a great boost since launch, and there is a market for both foods and potions now. If you just resubbed for a month, I'm amazed you did not notice these changes.. |

Excuse me guys, but is it possible that atleast one tread on theese boards can be a discussion about something ELSE then X-fire numbers? |

I really can't see the problem about it being a quest grinder either. If you don't want to run quests you are free to grind any mob you want. You have both options. For a game that is not quest driven, you only have one of the options. It is a known fact that those that don't want to quest grind or are on their 7th alt, just go to DM camps in Khesh to grind mobs to max lvl. What I would like to see though, is small xp rewards for crafting. It does not have to be much, but enough to give very crafting oriented people an option to level through resourcing and crafting. |

In addition, the new lvl 80 solo and lvl 80 group dungeon was opened on testlive this weekend, so in a couple of weeks there will be even more. |

Everyone is coming back to Age of Conan!!!
General Discussion « Age of Conan 1/17/09 10:44:07 AM
No doubt, a lot of people are returning to the game, and the acticity on the newly merged EU PVE and PVP servers last night was just insane. I had to use "crouch" to get out of the trading post in Old Tarantia due to the heavy crowding! My only concern is that they merged to many of the servers into one, as many of the returnees that has been playing for some time would want to join their former guild, or further develop their allready lvl 50-80 chars. With the huge amount of players that are on, I really cant belive login ques are far away.. |

That poll at the AoC forums is perhaps interesting, but it really has no statistical merit. First, and most obvious, there are to few respondents as of now. Secondly and much more important is the problem that since both forums and X fire is social tools, you get an extremely skewed pool of respondents. My hypothesis is that X-fire users will use forums much more actively than the ones that don't use X-fire, thereby making X-fire users overrepresentated in the study. |

1. The travel agents can bring you to more locations now than earlier, so you can go directly from the main hub to every play zone in that civilization directly if you are at high enough level to go there. You can also travel via all resource areas directly to your guild city. In addition you have the Path of Azura that takes you directly to a bound spot of your choosing, and you can also get an item which once a day can bring you to your homeland main hub. 2. They added around 50+ quests and another huge zone Ymir's pass to the lvl 55-65 area, effectively closing the levelling gap that used to be there. You can pretty much level from 1-75 now without any grind, atleast if you spend some time doing the resource and crafting quests. 3. Performance issues and CTD's was fixed for the huge majority several months ago. |

When's FunCom firing up the FRESHSTART servers?
General Discussion « Age of Conan 1/14/09 4:49:37 PM
They have allready fired up the US fresh start servers. Does anyone her actually read the AoC forum? |
|
|
Happy to hear that everything worked out nicely! I noticed from a picture posted in the US forums that the server names for the fresh start servers are allready in the server select screen. Are they opened allready? |
|
|
Don't forget that the reduction to 18 servers is temporary and that Funcom plans to open fresh start servers after the mergers are done. Details as how many and which ruleset these will have has not been provided yet though. |
|
|
The ones in bold are the servers that will be left after mergers are completed, 18 servers in total. When that is done, they will open new servers for both PvP and PVE to give the opportunity of a fresh start. |

Same game..different name..getting old..

If you want mech pvp combat, Anarchy Online got that in the last expansion. |
|
|
If you left due to performance issues there is a very good chance those have been fixed. |

I do not play on Aquilonia myself, but it is generally regarded as one of the servers with best population, so you are lucky with that one. |
|
|
All I know is that my main server has twice the population these days than it had one month ago. I see more and more people coming back every day. It is no secret AoC sold a heck of a lot of boxes in 2008, and that the game is making progress in strides forward. This is being noticed. Edit: And no; it's not one of the servers put up as recommended for newcomers |
