Most of them quit because the core of the game was boring to them. They just didn't like the game. Those kind of fundamental flaws cannot be fixed with a patch or two. You need to delete everything and start again. Sure FC has made many improvements. There are less bugs now and some new content has been added but AoC is still basically the same game we had in launch. In time FC might get some of those 90% back but I'm sure most of them will never return. There are new MMO's being released every month and people have moved on.
What is your point in ridiculing his subjective opinion about the current state of the game? Is that not what this topic was all about in the first place? He is having fun, and gives his advice that is worth getting back to this game. Your contribution is to claim a "fact" that 90% left and then since you know them all, give reasons for their departure. |

This is perfectly understandable as they staffed for 600k customers at launch. With the numbers now being a third of that someone have to go, and by doing this FC shows that they are intent on keeping the costs down. So for the game this is good news. ' For the people loosing their jobs; I'm sorry for them as these are hard times. For the ones laughing about it on these forums; well I guess you know yourselves how I feel about people like you. |

You can find the trainers for tradeskills in one of the 3 resource zones (Poitain, Lacheis plains, and Purple Lotus Swamp). You cannot start practicing these until lvl 40 though. |

If players themselves have to go delete file folders in order to "fix" AoC properly, then "paying to beta" comes to mind. That does not sound like good game coding. Unless, unless unless.. AoC is a damn good game "unless" you... "insert here". Make the game work like so many other games. Stop blaming Windows, or Ventrilo or whatever and start doing their game code right. Since other games does not have those issues, why should AoC?
The game runs absolutely without a glitch for me now, and noone in my guild has any serious problems that I know of. Before the last patch there were some latency spikes, but the last patch fixed those too for me. I'm not saying that noone has any problems, but you give the impression that the game code is in beta state, and I say that it is not so. I find AoC a damn good game by it's core, but which has been through a bumpy ride, and that it can only improve from here. A lot of the improvement is coming along nicely, and I look forward to the future years i will spend in this game. |

AoC is far from dead, but before the servers are merged, you should do some research into which are the more populated servers if you plan to start now. |

Poll: What game do you plan on playing in December

I will be playing Age of Conan. |

With server merges probably coming up in a matter of a few weeks I guess it wont matter that much which server you choose. But for now Fury is considered the most active PVP-server. For PVE-servers it is more of a close race between Crom, Dagon and Ymir. I play on Ymir myself and it is decently populated and has a very good community. Edit: Nothing at all (I better read before I post =) |

If you want an MMO with high class graphics, realistic playfields and a high lvl of character customization then I would suggest Age of Conan. I would take some time to pick a server though as both the community and population is highly variable across the servers. |

New content is new content no matter the level. I'm really looking forward to this one and have an alt in just the right range for it. |
