If you've tried them both then shouldn't you know which one you prefered? Vanguard has the most chance of being shut down next cause the game is dead and don'y expect much content in the future where as Everquest 2 has a long future ahead of it. I'm suprised the character models in Vanguard didn't put you off already. |

Is there any good MMORPG I haven't tried? If so, please mention!

I'd suggest waiting for SWTOR. |

Yeh but I think you have to come into swtor expecting KOTOR with an online component. If you want a virtua Star Wars Universe to live in like SWG Pre CU then I doubt you'll be happy with what swtor will offer. Though you never know Bioware might pull off massive seamless worlds... I doubt it though. |

What is the most rare item you have received in an MMO?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 8/13/09 12:12:45 PM
For me it would be unlocking Jedi in 2003 and getting my Jetpack, even though the Jetpack had no animation getting on it and you looked like a plank of wood when flying. |

Well, I might be thinking of the CU, because it was a long time ago (relatively speaking), but I definitely remember writing loads of reports on NGE, at least a couple a day.
The NGE went up on test and everyone hated it but SOE still didn't listen and released it anyways. I remember a woman from LA said we don't care what the current players think, we're trying to attract new players. |

Imagine what the game coulda been if they gave these 4 years of development with the Pre CU system instead of NGE :( Coulda been the most unique mmorpg out there with a great name that lots of people still played. Instead it's a running joke of the MMO genre and people are just waiting for it to close. All they've done over these past 4 years with the NGE is fix what it broke and added lack luster content. They like one guy in the art team and they have to reuse all the art currently in the game over and over again cause they just don't have the resources to create much from scratch anymore. If you look at the end game instances and stuff they've put hardly any effort into level design it's mainly just a room with a few mobs still in it and places some furniture thats been in the game 6 years around the place. All the things I hate about the NGE havn't been touched since it was launched so in my eyes the game is hardly any better. Still waiting for a nice looking UI, animations, old targetting system and speed of movemnt/combat slowed down so it doesn't look like everything is on fast forward. |

Will you trust Blizzard again after Wow ?

You know no one complained about Console games being aimed at the casual player, in fact most of you praise the WII for being so dang inovative and getting grandma into the gamer mentality. So why do we hate on MMO's that make it so everyone can play? IT DOES NOT MANY ANY SENSE.
Cause aiming for the casuals has just broken the game and besides I don't like consoles or casual games so it makes no sense for me. If people stopped making games aimed at people like me then I wouldn't be playing games anymore. |

General Discussion « World of Warcraft 8/13/09 7:18:04 AM
The same thing thats happened to WoW has happened to all other mmorpgs and thats the developers make mistakes and take the game the wrong direction which isn't towards gameplay but towards the casuals and the money. |

Are the Play Online ID's different to SE accounts? I wouldn't know my Play Online ID anyways cause it only allows a small amount of characters so I wouldn't of been able to use the user name I always used back then. I'm not even sure what email address I used because I was able to signup with SE with the email address I've had since 1999 so I guess I didn't use that unless Play Online really is different. All I have is my Cd Key and my box.
Frigging I go to the play online website and it allows me to use many more characters.........
So I downloaded the game and installed play online and FF11 to see if I could work it out using the actual program. I dunno if it's windows 7 or whatever but the game doesn't want to run, will install fine but not run. |

Originally posted by Mardy These countries *may* be healthier, but not because of governmental healthcare, but because they have less population. When people need surgeries and operations done, they come here, why? Because they won't have to wait for years to get treatment. That's the point and why people from other countries want us to stay away from socialized healthcare. Sure it's easy for people from other countries to get cold medicine or antibiotics, that's one thing I do think we should move towards. But when it comes to surgeries, and getting these time sensitive operations done, people from other countries are coming here for that.
And please stop using the word "free", nothing is free, everything is paid for by your own tax dollars even in other countries.
As for their economy being good, you really need to look into it before spewing such claims. Look into their GDP, look at their unemployment rate in the past 10 years, check out what people are saying about their economy. People in France are *not* happy with their current economic situation, same with UK. It's true that US is in debt, but that's due to our politicians. We've swapped parties left to right a few times now, and things aren't getting any better. Things won't get better until we swap these politicians OUT and put some people in there that actually care about the people for a change.
Thing is though you pay little extra tax for Free Health care for the whole country. Why should the poor people have to suffer because the rich want it their way? Police is paid for by tax... should we say nope you'll have to pay the police alot of money when you need them instead? Same with the firemen if your house is burning down and you can't afford it? Health Care is more important than any of those and yet it isn't the same. I mean why arn't people complaining about socialism with that? There are certain things that everyone should have a right to and everyone should be treated the same and thats free health care.
I hope Obama takes this move because then all the people crying over it will see 10 years from now how much better the system is and it had no effect on their income. |

Paths to Jedi Other Than Hologrinding
SWG Veteran Refuge « Star Wars Galaxies 8/12/09 4:54:00 PM
The funny thing is the opinions on the forums didn't reflect what I saw in the game. Everyone I talked to in game loved it and just wanted more content and bug fixes. People in the game on the whole didn't care about the profession balance. They just wanted to play the game how they liked and my whole guild loved the challenge of how hard the game was. However you go to the forums and it would seem like the game was the worst thing ever and you wonder why they were even playing. Just full of people complaining about things that only effected them, just wanted changes to make things easier for them. They wanted the easy road and didn't think about the rest of the game and how these little changes would actually have a big impact. Something as little as JTLS allowing you to instant travel from planet to planet had a massive effect on the game and I know people who quit over it. It instantly kills the social aspect of waiting for the Star Ports where everyone met and chatted and dueled eachother. It also makes it so you have to be more careful with things like PVP because you can't instantly travel around. It made the worlds seem that much bigger aswel because you did have to wait to travel. Just these little changes the whiners got that slowly ate away and ruined the game.
I remember a quote from Raph Koster and he said that they could have originally just added content, making sure each profession worked and cutting down the over the top buffs and armour stats. However the changes that have happened now have closed the doors on any hope of that and it's a different game now. I find it weird how he knew what the game needed and other developers hopefully had the common sense to know this aswel. However a few people in charge who hadn't a clue had the power to ruin the game. |

If you want to see how bad this genre has become go play a good single player RPG
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 8/12/09 4:38:28 PM
I don't want Single Player gameplay in my MMO, I want online grouping social gmeplay like SWG. |

The UK has free health care and so does Canada and France and Japan and Australia and most of Europe really. Do we live badly? No all these countries are probably healthier and have better economies than North America. Infact if you look at the countries without free health care alot of them are some of the poorest countries in the world like most countries in Africa. Obama needs to do this for America, I see some of the protesters on the news and they've all been people with low IQ's who just want to jump on the band wagon. |

Paths to Jedi Other Than Hologrinding
SWG Veteran Refuge « Star Wars Galaxies 8/12/09 9:02:48 AM
Well Jedi originally were a Random set of events that would unlock. I remember just playing the game how I wanted to and then one day I unlocked with aload of other people and everyone was on the forums trying to work out how you do it. Raph Koster said it's a system that just lets you play and then something triggers it, wanted it to always be a mystery and to allow you to play the game as you enjoyed it. I got my slot at the end of 2003 but I never ever got further than Padawan by the time the NGE came I was still a Padawan and I think they disabled the whole force rank system anyways. I dunno I just didn't enjoy the class once everyone had them and when the Bounty Hunter system was in I just started hunting Jedi. They kept making it easier and easier for Jedi though which made it less and less fun to play a Bounty Hunter. You just saw Jedi everywhere and it ruined the mystery of the class and by that point they might aswel be a starter profession cause everyone had one. They shoulda kept Jedi like it was at the start and kept Permadeath though I agree with allowing them to have a House and that. But no the whiners got their way and thats just one example of SOE listening to the dumb people on the forums. |
