Hi Everyone,

I'd like MMORPG.com to pay more attention to other games than the ones we are really used to hear about all the time. The MMORPG world is huge and we seem to see a limited amount of news and important stuff about lots of "not so known" but great games.

What do you think about this?

I can't belive that MMORPG.com didn't post this news!

They've posted a press release in the forums and I hoped I found it here... so, I'll post it myself

THERE'S A LOT OF AWESOME STUFF TO COME!!!

NGD Studios Celebrates Regnum Online’s Birthday with New Features and More Ximerin!

Happy Birthday Regnum Online!

NGD Studios celebrates Regnum Online’s second anniversary. In just 2 years Regnum Online has grown from a solid independent MMORPG to one of the top Free To Play Realm vs Realm MMORPGs available on Windows and Linux platforms. Thanks to continuous development based on user feedback, the NGD Studios team launched the Invasions expansion in Q4 2008 with great reception by the community. Now, NGD Studios is proud to announce Regnum Online’s second major development expansion with many new features and in particular the introduction of “Dueling”, allowing players to enhance their Player vs. Player experience by challenging other players to one on one confrontation.

Starting on Friday, May 22nd players will experience the launch of the new release as a special anniversary event which will include new premium rewards, exciting new adventures in the war zone and the greatly anticipated “Duels” feature. As a “thank you” to our community and all new comers, for a limited time, for any purchase of Ximerin between Friday 22nd and Friday 29th we will give the buyer +25% extra Ximerin for the purchase.

Join the party “in game” with the developers on Sunday, May 24th at 9 PM GMT.

Regnum Online Technology update

NGD Studios has dedicated an internal team to developing a new MMO game engine, codenamed NG3D2.0. The new engine, featuring our proprietary technology for the demands of next generation MMOs, has already been tested in NGD’s “The Tower” technology demo showcased at the EVA08 (Argentina’s Video game Expo) and presented at GDC 2009.

NG3D2.0 means the Regnum Online community can expect another major release for Regnum Online in Q4 2009, as NGD is already hard at work to implement this next generation technology to push Regnum Online to the next level.

The following improvements are expected for upcoming releases:

· Dynamic volumetric shadows
· Enhanced lighting and modeling
· High definition characters
· Enhanced post process effects
· Big Performance Improvements (over 50% faster!)
· Increase in the drawing distance of scenery

I feel I need to post in this thread again. A few weeks ago, I posted about the many problems of Regnum, in particular the lack of balance between classes, in the huge overpowering of the hunter class. However, NGD released a major update in December that fixed almost all of my  complaints. They did a wonderful job, and restored balance between the classes again. I have three characters from different classes, and I now enjoy playing all of them. They all have strengths as well as weaknesses. Great job NGD!

When you see Valorius' posts, you will understand his tantrum, because he only has only one character, a hunter. His class was previously grossly overpowered, which I'm sure he enjoyed, and now he's unhappy because the game balance has taken away his class's extreme advantages and made it an equal with others. I notice that his first post coincides with the release of the update that fixed the game.

Anyway, great job NGD! They listened to their players, and made the game interesting and fun again. Also they added a feature called Invasion that gives the game more of a purpose.

Yes, this last update shows how Regnum is staging to become what it always had to be. Balance is being taken care of and the some hints of 2009 roadmap seem too good to be true

Well, they answered to a lot of our requests in this update... I hope that they keep on doing so :)

Regnum Online is a great game. I dont know any other free mmorpg game, which has an competetive RvR-system.

RvR in RegnumOnline is really a lot of fun. The latest new update made it even considerably better with adding invasions and improving the spell and class balance a bit.

I dont agree on the point that there are much lags in the game. I have only a few lags if there are many people nearby.

If someone gets many legs there is mostly any problem in their software- or hardware environment or bad internet connection.

yes, teenagers with a lot of spyware on their pcs tend to be the ones with lag...

regnum is a great game, I've reached lvl 50 now and Invasions made me have the best fun I had in years in an mmorpg!

i love this game! even if it has some problems and not so great graphics, the community is great and the game is getting better and better!

This update lets premium players spend real money for EPIC items(armor and weapons), something that NGD swore it would NEVER allow (for game balance/play to be affected by premium items)

This update is an unmitigated disaster.

The items that you obtain by the giftbox can be obtained by loot too... I think that this isn't so good, but it is fair........

i've seen this in other games too, you're being too harsh

Nothing is more fun than getting a small group of people together and tracking through the war zone enemies to fight. Combine that with clever ambushes done out of camouflage, and you have a recipe for good times.

Yes!

I am level 46 now and those situations are really exciting! Hunters are a hard deal for Conjurers (but I'm almost never alone) but I learned how to manage them (Sanctuary FTW!).

I've been stalked by many hunters while levelling, and the best part is the revenge attack

Hey!

Great summary! The difference is that I chose Alsius

What would be nice to add is that you don't have to max out your character to enjoy the wars... I currently am a lvl 39 Conjurer (max level is 50) and I enjoy a lot curing... if you want to forget about life problems, make a Conjurer, you wont stop acting in war!

Other thing that I would like to add is that even though graphics are not "astonishing" they bring a lot of realism and tidyness in big wars... in some games I played when a lot of players gathered around you would not understand a thing!

That's all for now... xD

Well, at last a well put review of the points of this game!

I'm trying all F2P around there, so with your descriptions I guess it's worth the try

See you soon with my own review!

i would suggest to not play this game. Why?  It is a complete waste of time, and eventually becomes a 24/7 grind fest.  Take from first hand experience, I played when it was in CB and OB, and got to the level 65 before quiting.  The quests are extremely dull and repititive, there so called "community", is nothing but a group of friends who control the forums and game play.  To make matters worst, the game is constant facing problems with development and the release of cash shop items.   In order to become "godly" in this game having +9 gear is REQUIrED, otherwise killing goes super slow. Its much pretty a total grind fest game after you hit your early level 40's and from there on you have to grind constantly on same mobs in order to level up. Quests and Kingdom quests can only help so much.
To sum it all up, if your looking to kill some time, then try Fiesta with some friends, it'll be a fun experience, Anything after level 40, and your just wasting time when you could be doing other things. Sparkcash is a waste of money, I having spent 50 on enhancing items (biggest waste of money ever). Your more likely to spend the money on sparkcash and buy a pay 2 play game instead. I don't recommend this game, becasue having gotten to level 65, I've seen what the game does to people; gets them addicted, 24/7 grinding straight without sleep, etc, I suggest trying another game instead of this.

I played a lot too, till level 48 and I have to completely agree with PU_TANG_PIE. No game that requires grinding all the time is fun. Maybe I chose the wrong game for me, that could be a reason... others may find this gameplay attractive, but not me. I like to have something to do when I don't want to continue grinding, and not those silly adventures or crafting to be a salesman... well, gotta go to another game.

Anyways, feel free to try it, people who like cute and itembased games may like it
