Mortal Online Closest thing to a Skyrim MMO?
General Discussion « Mortal Online 12/04/11 8:13:57 PM
Biggest difference between MO and skyrim:
Im waiting for MO to become completely fixed and worked cuz the fighting system need a lot of work, but i can see the potential. Bug is mostly the problem and im aware of that. As for skyrim, i have no hope for that game. They released it at his best, but i heard it was easy and i hate pausing during my gameplay. Seem like i will have to pause none stop in skyrim. I got more to say, but il stop cuz you probably know where im getting at if you're not a skyrim fanboy. |

Originally posted by drakes821 In that case, what you can do, is start now and becoming a destroyer. +40% damage bonus in melee and +20% on archery against players with their staff equipped, but you wont be able to cast elemental magic. Biggest downside is the fact that you wont be able to buff yourself up and farming wont be easy unless you fight mobs who use staves. Basic stuff you can get 1st to be ready as a destroyer: 75 GS mastery. Wont take long, specially if you join a clan with secret knowledge. Otherwise, you are still good with mastery unlocked anyway. 100 archery and sharshooter. The fastest DPS skils to raise in game. If your aim is good, you can become viable once you max this out. 60 lesser magic to unlock all the transfer spells: HP, Mana, Stamina. Witch Brew: The best self heal. You must get 75 Witch craft to unlock it. Begone: Best skill to escape or catching up on foot. 80 Greater Magic.
As for stats: 100 quickness is a must. Not 99. 100. Huge difference for melee archery attack speed. As for the rest, try to unlock passive skills, but dont meditate wisdom yet. Once you done; in order, max out... VIT, STR, INT, wisdom. As for DEX, its the worst stat to raise since it doesnt add much for archery damage, so raise it when you done with everything else. |

You can try the trial to get a feel for it, but that is far from enough to see why DF is the best mmorpg. If you start now, you will never become mini maxed. In DF, in order to have fun on the pvp aspect, you must alteast become mini maxed like me or you will end up playing with a zerg who usually win only cuz of number advantage and thats not fun since you cant do much to affect the outcome. 2.0: Its still not clear if there will be a wipe or not, but the grind wont be bad as 1.0 anyway. So wipe or not, you should wait. A lot of spells and skills are getting removed, revamp and no one will be able to be good as hybrids since the gear you will wear will decide your playstyle. Same for items. most of them are getting removed so there's simply no point in not having a wipe. You can still join 1.0 if you want, but if i were you, i would wait for an other XP bonus event to get a good start.

why doesnt Darkfall satisfy the crowd that want a Elder Scroll MMO?
General Discussion « Darkfall 12/04/11 7:44:19 AM
Darkfall and skyrim are not the same. I cant think of 1 thing that is similar with both of these games. If only skyrim had a risk like when you die, you lose all your gear and you then have to retrieve them, but if you die twice, it disapears for ever, then i would approve. If skyrim ever becomes an mmo, it should be done like diablo, but with a risk to lose you're gear. It should be that way. Bring out what you are willing to recraft or rebuy.
Games of this generation, you have the feeling that you will never die. I just hate that cuz at the end, its not a challenge and i rather check a youtube walktrought in that case. Save and load pretty much ruined it for me, but its there. I cant just ignore it. |

As a self proclaimed vet, i would like to see a 4x all the time untill 2.0 so i can not only become a self problaimed, but a real vet to not only shit on other vets 1on1 wise, but to also win some 2 vs 1 encounters against badies. On a serious note: They have to introduce the 4x xp gain all the time cuz the new comers or those who missed the weekend are pretty much lost. Everytime i go out to pvp, can be during the morning, prime time or what ever, the only ones i encounter are the maxed vets. Big names BTW, not some randoms. I am a mini maxer. Nowadays, most fun clan to hang with are the ones who recruit vets and today, there are very few mixed clan that are willing to go out and pvp everydays. |

This is a niche game, not for everyone. We do not need all of you and NA1 is healthy. kthxbye. |

Originally posted by marinrider It means that i can win against vets 1on1 wise now. So i am self proclaimed vet. You never heard of the x4 progression bonus weekend event? You dont even need 100 on everything anyway, you just need 75 and its not much. Thats for real BTW. I dueled one of the best player in DF in my clan and i won. He had siege gears while i had cheap decent gears. I stacked up to 4 debuffs on him, i didint missed much and i kept parrying all the time and countering. |

Originally posted by headen I never said i hated the game. I am now a vet since the last weekend event. DF is the best mmorpg. |

European or not, join NA1 no matter what. Most EU veterans are transfering to NA1 cuz they know how much more active it is there. A whole clan from EU known as Z5 are already on NA1 and they are already having much more fun with everydays pvp. EU was always empty so they got tired of it fast. Join NA1. Thats it. Its not a bait thread or anything, its just what you should do. Yes, DF is indeed an FPS game. Doesnt mean that you wont be good cuz you got high ping. Ive seen good players from EU winning against some of the vets in my clans. Got me thinking that their ping are not that bad afterall. Most of them range from 120 to 200 pings. |

Originally posted by DarthRaiden DF is the 1st game doing it and its nothing like other mmorpg's. If wow had instant gratification (and i tried a wow instant server) btw, there would be absulutely nothing to do since the end game of wow is not even pvp only unlike DF that is a conquest type of game. Beside, farming is not even over in DF. I still need to farm for gold and rare to sell just to make bunch of gear bags ready to lose and ready to get replaced. In wow, once you got your gears, you will never change or replace them. You will only repair them. So you do not need to generalize since DF is like no other. |

I am not only pvp viable, i can now stomp on veterans who played the game for 2 years! Sorry for those who missed this weekend. After 1 cast of the spell name comehilther for example, i got it at level 40 starting at 1 right away. After few other cast, i got it to 75. I could max out my character offensive skills over 75 in a day after few hours, not all day. If you still dont know yet, any skill in darkfall at lvl 75 is good as a skill at level 99 so the grind ends at 75 basically. |

Full Loot PvP: What's the appeal?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/04/11 9:29:50 AM
Originally posted by worldalpha How many time you think it takes to get a good set of armor in a full loot game? None of them are rare. You can buy everything in these games and they are cheap enough to keep up. Also, most full loot game are not heavily gear base. The best armor are slightly better then the common ones in these games, so you never lose much when you die. Lastly, dont be a lone wolf in a sandbox if you dont want to work too hard on your own just to lose everything after. These games are mostly about team work in all aspect. |

Full Loot PvP: What's the appeal?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/03/11 5:38:45 PM
Originally posted by AzurePrower If you are not strong enough, you usually join a noob friendly clan so other noobs or protectors can cover your back. As a newb in a full loot game like DF, i joined a zerg clan and we used to win most of the time. Now, i have an average character and im good. I lose more then i win because i feel strong enough to play with a small clan. Thats how it is. You measure your level and you place yourself into a situation where you think you will get the most fun. I usually still have fun if i barely win or lose instead of zerg insta win. Some have fun by simply having 100% chance to win at any encounter. Most of these games are sandbox, so you can chose if you either want it hard or easy. Your character level got nothing to do with that, its all politic.
At the end, its also your opinion. I wount play contra one without the cheat cuz i dont want to die 3 time and reset all over again. While for an old player, its the opposite. |

Originally posted by DarthRaiden Our loyal players? Lol, if they were loyal, they would follow to rules from A to Z. Everyone exploit that damn game just to become a beast character. In other words, to catch up with the vets since newb's and average dont even pvp enough. |

EVE game designer says he'd play DF if he had time
General Discussion « Darkfall 10/21/11 1:38:05 AM
PCG: So, Star Wars: The Old Republic’s about to use Force Subscription Fee on PC gamers the world over, and – after all the money EA pumped into it – I imagine it actually is EA’s only hope. Meanwhile, WoW and Rift are built on a similar combat and quest formula. As someone who runs such an atypical MMO, is it disheartening to see the biggest kids on the block continue to rehash the same old ideas? Is the MMO genre in dire need of some creativity? |
