7 Day lockout on account management ?
Rubi-Ka Lounge (General) « Anarchy Online 5/22/11 11:33:18 PM
Yep it's definitly over the top. The same thing happened with me when trying to merge one of my accounts with my master account. First they said it was 24 hours and then after three days of waiting the story changed to 7 days. I've confirmed I have access now but ive really lost my interest in resubbing to AO. And yes, they said there is nothing they can do about it in my case as well. Nothing they *want* to do about is likely more accurate. |

EQ1 Time Locked Progression Server - Launch Feb 15th
Hogcaller Inn (General) « Everquest 2/02/11 12:45:08 PM
This is soo very tempting. I miss the old EQ, I miss the thrill and the dread of death. I don't miss the melee animations but I don't have to play a SK this time... |

I hear you and don't disagree but the focus was more on froob doc's, yours isn't a froob. Leveling a froob doc solo would be a nightmare IMO. No perks, no research, no symbs, crap selection for weapons and froob endgame wouldn't be even a shadow of that of a full account. |

Yeah he could roll a Keeper if he wasn't on a froob account. All the points about perks wouldn't apply either unless he converted. MA's are awesome DPS as a froob account or full paid one.
Edit: Here is a link to a guide on the official forums for MA's. |

If your starting over with little or no funding I would say go Martial Artist. Their fist damage scales with skill so there are no weapons that you need to buy. This allows you to mostly focus your income on implants and other gear. Since Rubi-Ka mobs are typically low AC mobs the MA can easy dish out great damage (fist have a low min damage that really sticks out when fighting high AC mobs in SL). Adventures are great but are very weapon dependent to either pistols or 1hand edged weapons to do any damage. So there is a greater requirement in the way of credits and availability to keep weapons up to date. This can be a source of frustration especially if you're a froob since you can't look up weapons on the GMS. Stay away from Doc. Period. I have one and they level slower then frozen snot. At high levels they are very tough and can live through incredible damage (esp Doc with the SL expansion) but getting a doc to do decent, much less good, DPS is very, very hard. A doc, especially a froob one, is very group dependent for leveling but that's what it was designed for. If you really want to go Doc, there are quiet a few treads in the official doc forum on different builds many of them on Doc MA's. Pet classes are great for solo'rs since you can implant to get "Red" con pets. But then you hit the cap somewhere between 120's and 150's when you're able to use the highest pet(s) available and there is no where to go since you're on your last pet. At that point you would focus on building up your toon to make up the difference in damage, buffs and trimmers (engi only) to squeeze out that last bit of damage. "Red"-con pets are great for sending into a room of mobs while you stand outside waiting to loot. I hope this helps. |

Very tempting. I've been watching AO from the shadows waiting for the new engine but I do have a couple of free accounts. I won't pay for the game as it is now but free is different. Never really considered playing the F2P vanilla AO. I'm so spoiled I don't know if I could play it without the expansions. The weapons, the gear, all the buffs but your project is interesting to me and honestly I would have preferred if they had never brought out the SL expansion. Bah, I noticed now that your a clam. I can play neutral but never a clam - OMNI FTW! -H |

For me, I use a 1-time CC generated off my PayPal account. Yes, it's a pain but I know ahead of time that I prolly won't be playing long. Another option is to generate a PayPal CC that is a multi-use but you still can close out the card and it will block any future attempts to charge it. Kind of back-end-way of forcing your hand. |

Anarchy Online: Legacy of Xan Interview
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 2/15/09 4:05:36 PM
The base game "Anarchy online" is free (incl Notum Wars booster). If you upgade to an expansion then it has either a $5 or $15 monthly fee. |

I'd love a classice server with the option of new models personally but I need to remember this is SOE not Verant.
I think id rather bore my eyes out with a sppon then give them another dime after how they screw up one game after another. |

This is the game i've been waiting for! Formerly i was a quint-boxer in WoW (PvP server) but playing WAR has killed my interested in WoW altogether. This is the type of PvP i've been looking for and despite how much I wanted to deny that end game wasn't about PvP (for me) it infact is. I thought I was a PvE type but infact I'm not and enjoy nothing more then running down PC's. Public quests are a nice change too! |

I've come full circle back to AO, there's nothing else like it. |

Thanks again all for the helpful information. I've started a new account(for the free month) and purchased RoK for it. Maybe I will see some of you online. |

Sounds like good advice. I think the only thing I would do is transfer any money I had from my other toons. But maybe that would take away from the return experience... hmn. There is something to be said about the satisfaction of starting from scratch and making a success of it. My old accounts are just the pure original game, no expansion packs. I used to be quick about buyings the exp packs for EQ but found I almost never used the new content. The biggest draw to come back would be to play a Sarnak. I need to see something new vs Freeport all over again. Do they really look as detailed as the appear on this page? http://www.everquest2.com/allraces.vm |

The trial is still downloading... In the meantime... thru some finageling I discovered my toons are still on Oasis. I used to dual box an Inq with my SK but I am thinking the reason I got burned out is due to the level of work I made out of the game. Anyone here play on Oasis? Is Oasis still going strong or is there a better place to start over?

TongP0: What class are you playing? To all: Any opinions on current state of classes is welcome. I typically play mail and plate classes but any info is helpful. |

Thank you very much Nadia and DarthHoob. Your replies were very informative. I am really considering purchasing the RoK expansion and starting from scratch and roll a Sarnak. |

I played EQ2 when it first released and came back a over year ago for about a month and left again. I've read through multiple threads including the "List of changes since release" thread but I still feel I don't have a good idea about the current state of the game. So if anyone would be so kind as to give me any additional information it would be welcomed. 1) LU40 " Level 20-70 experience gain rate has been smoothed to be more beneficial, and pre-70 quests now pay out more experience!" More is great but I am wondering how much more? Do quests give 2x more exp then before? 3x or just like 10% more? I know it's hard to give a gauge on how quickly someone could level compared to the way the game was even a year ago but thats the kind of info I am looking for. 2) I used to play a Shadow Knight, how is that class now? Are they more like the true hybrids they were in EQ or are they still more like a fighter type with a slightly different slant on the specials (when compared to other fighter types)? 3) Questing, I've seen information on the game being increasing solo friendly for questing is this primarily for the new expansion pack or is this for all content 10-80? Thank you all |
