I later regretted rolling a Norn as a Necro as his burly physique didn't seem to fit a caster and I had leveled him as much as possible in a melee build (minion master & dagger main hand) but now with a greatsword and this spec I can get back to that original concept for this necro.

I love the zone scaling of the game. It allows you to get appropriate rewards for your level even when in lower content and encourages higher level players to group with lower level ones.

Anarchy Online will always be my favorite even though I won't play it again until they get it somewhat modernized (which will likely never happen).

I really like the gear anomalies the game has. I don't care for this cookie-cutter gear across the board for classes. For example, the extreme low light targeting scope, the TIM scope, dragon body armor, leveling items like the Agent's Balaclava. the whole fixer store in the middle of junk yard which you needed a min level of breaking and entering to access. Farming bosses in level locked dungeons like TotTW for crafting mats to make twinks or for laddering gear. The concept of implants to raise stats to over equip gear and weapons.

The mission terminal to roll missions for specific loot or in certain areas.

So many cool things that makes AO unique its a real shame they couldn't maintain it correctly.

As much as I love the game's combat the leveling grind with ESO is intolerable. I think GW2 is the best currently out there.

That's fine if they choose to gender and/or race lock classes but that is a big turn off for me. Pity, the game looked interesting.

I love playing the Sylvari myself but what I wouldn't give if we could make them look like the Mordrem. Like norn vs human.

To the OP: I think you meant "traitor" not "trader" when you said "Although I would like Treherne to turn trader.". Yes, I think we all loathe Treherne so that would be satisfying if we were able to prune him from his roots.

As far as I am aware last game that had a challenging AI that attacked on sight, even from afar off, and used tactics was Tabula Rasa but that died some time ago. I haven't seen anything quite like it since but I to would like something that aggressive .

You know I am pretty sure that I can say that you guys are idiot because the games you play and  despite the problems in ESO there are people that love it. So next time someone wants to speak shit, think that there are more players hatting the games you play and think you stupid for playing it, In my opinion every game have something fun in it but to make things great is best to join a guild who are not asshole and have fun  because of the time people think a game suck is because they do not understand a think.

Here's the thing though - I accept that people don't like what I like and get over it. Most people on these forums can't STAND the thought that not everyone can fanboi over what they do. Instead, they whiteknight and deny, deny, deny any problems.

Also, I'm not playing any game or MMO at the moment because most of them are dumbed down mass marketed crap at this point. The few that are decent I don't have time to dedicate to. Oh well.

I accept that you don't like ESO it but I don't agree with you posted because it paints an inaccurate picture as fact. A "few quests" where this can happen as part of a quest chain which is essentially private but you didn't describe it as such but rather depicted it as a massive public quest issue that ruined the game.

The megaserver really killed this game for me.  My husband said it best when he mentioned it felt like he was running around a college campus with a bunch of other people all doing similar things but having nothing in common to talk about. The fact that you can "complete" quests without even doing -anything- due to the public quest system also ruined the experience for me.

It's not the worst MMO I ever tried, but they'd have to change a lot to get me to sub again.

Oh well. Glad some folks are enjoying it I guess.

I'm leveling an alt right now please enlighten me on these quests you can complete for doing nothing. I haven't came axross any of those...

Well, there are.

However, the wording has you confused.

It's not so much that anyone at any time can just show up and the quest automatically completes so much as you showing up just after a large group and because you are in the vicinity you get credit.

One example on the Ebonheart Pact side is that construct that is raised to kill an army. All throughout beta I would show up in time to get credit but never actually swing a sword. I don't remember the finer points but you go through a portal, end up on a beach and if there are a lot of people before you, you get credit.

Basically, any public dungeon that has a boss to kill will also net you the same result. Well, at least at the start of the game.

Having said that, these are just nitpicks as one "could" just accept the credit and move on to any number of things the game offers.

That's sort of the problem with some players; they never see the forest from the trees and go stomping and huffing out of the game if one thing or aspect is not to their liking.

If I lived my life like this I'd never leave my house!

This is all so off base...

First of all the quest hinted at in the Ebonheart Pact is actually part of a chain and is not a "public" quest but the instance of a certain building can be shared with others who have completed the same steps of the chain at the same time as you have.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Legacy_of_the_Ancestors

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Delaying_the_Daggers

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Online:City_Under_Siege - This is the quest where by chance can enter at the end of the ritual, get the next step, and head down the beach to see the completion of the quest story where Balreth (elemental construct created from the body of an Chimer General named Balreth from a past age) wipes out an encampment of Covenant soldiers on the beach. This last portion on the beach is entirely passive for you to focus on the carnage as you are enshrouded with a buff making you invisible, immune, and unable to attack anything.

So since you can only get to this chance small "freebe" in the quest chain by performing all the prior quests steps is that really accurately depicted with this statement: "The fact that you can "complete" quests without even doing -anything- due to the public quest system also ruined the experience for me."

I don't think so but nice try.

Except yeah, it actually did ruin the game for me. Sorry, but your standards are obviously not mine. I don't like running into a public dungeon and seeing "QUEST COMPLETE" or "OBJECTIVE COMPLETE".  It happened several times and to me, that's a turn off. If you like it? Good for you. I don't.

And it still doesn't take away the fact I dislike the megaserver to begin with.

So I don't think so, but nice try.

Your argument lacks facts. Come back with some.

Ranting about something like it happens over and over doesn't make it true. I've been playing the games for several months and maybe 2 times have encountered a freebe but only for this same quest. But I've completed this quest maybe 6 times on different characters.

Shadowrun: Returns

The Champion System will be rolled out in a couple of phases in order to make sure that it works as expected and makes as effective a replacement for Veteran Ranks as they plan it to be. So update 6 will roll the system out by giving players who already have at least one maxed character 30 Champion points to use in the game’s new constellations.

This isn't correct. VR14 is a maxed character but that isn't what ZOS said what would determined if you received the 30 champion points.

Here is their statement: "Also, when phase 3 of the Champion System goes live with Update 6, all accounts that have at least one Veteran Rank character on them will automatically receive 30 Champion Points. These 30 Champion Points, though applied to your account, are distributed in full to each individual character on your account, just as Champion Points you earn are. So, if you have 5 characters, at least one of which is Veteran Rank 1 or higher, all five of those characters will have 30 CP to spend."

VR1 isn't a maxed character, not by a long shot.

Since launch, my first (and still main) was a Bosmer Nightblade stamina build using a bow. Stamina builds as well as Bows have since been buffed a bit to be more competitive with magicka builds but still it was a serious challenge for a long time until you can unlock a lot of your skills and morphs.

Looking back it would had been easier to level with the same race/class but using a different build and then switching later but I was determined to use a stamina build and as a result I am very good at managing the weaknesses of the build. The best aspect of this game is the flexibility but it can also get you lost not knowing which skill is the best to support what you are after so don't be afraid of switching to a cloth magicka build and then to a magika plate build or something else. There are a lot of options to try so if something doesn't work out maybe switch gear or give it more time.

A couple of tips:

  1. When leveling I would enter a new zone and race around on my mount to get all the skyshards to help speed my build completion before I tackle the zone's content.
  2. Use addons to improve your game experience to help reduce frustration so you can focus on playing your character. Some addons I use are: Skyshards, Lost Treasure and Wykkyd's Suite. They will help you with things alike finding all skyshards, lorebooks (for leveling with the Mage's guild), auto repairing your gear when you shop from an NPC and an improve quest tracker. Head to http://www.esoui.com/ for addons. Most other sites aren't updated nearly as often or have been outright abandoned.
  3. Try to keep your gear within 4 levels of your character and try to always have 1 piece of each type of the other armors to level them at the same time. So if your a DK wearing plate, wear 5 plate (heavy) and 1 cloth (light) and 1 leather (medium).
  4. You can put skills on your hotbar to level the skill line even if you can't use them with your current weapon. So say you're using a 2 hander and you're doing fine with 4 usable skills on you hotbar. If you've taken a little time to unlock the first healing spell from the Resto staff you can slot that skill in the 5th slot and it will level while you use the 2 hander. Later down the line when you do want to us a resto staff it will be ready to go.
  5. Magma armor is the best ultimate for bad situations and basically gives you godly protection for 12 seconds.

Aside from the story and beautiful aesthetics the game has one of the most underrated build systems and it will just get better with the coming champion system. Not to mention the justice system (coming soon) for getting to either play a thief and get away with stealing/pick pocketing or murder inside city walls and trying to get away with it (think GTA style "Heat").

This leaves all sorts of possibilities like when the assassins and thief guilds launch getting contracts to assassinate or theft missions.

Thanks for the fair warning OP. I'm glad I saw this before I further entertained the idea returning to SW:TOR anytime soon.
Resubbed a week ago and enjoying the game more than ever. I'm stoked for these fighting animation changes and the justice system!

I think Entris38 is referring to this post started on the 19th.

Shame on me for whining.  If you can't provide original content then find someone that can and will allow you to use it.

Dude, use a water-mark in your images if you're that concerned about your little screen-grab images (i.e. wowhead.com).

This is a great turn in the right direction for WvWvW balance for ESO!

Style looks just like Firefall. Game-play looks a bit more creative compared to FF.

The constant updates every 2-4 weeks through season 1 was really cool. I find myself falling behind in season 2 but they have now given you the ability t replay story chapter so long as you had logged in at least once during the chapter.

I guess I am still a bit burned out with the achievement grind from season 1.
