Ugh...the slotted item organization of games has always been my biggest pet peev.

I love DFO's way, just the same as UO did it.  I have my main backpack and inside of that I can place other bags that I use for sorting the items.  The only thing I want adjusted is pleae give me the ability to drag and drop an item into an unopened bag.  I don't like having to open a bag to place an item in it...but then again I'm just lazy.

$4.99 a month.   I would definatly give this game a 3 month run at that price.

I've played MMO's for 12 years.  Yep...since UO came out and I like em alot.  Now-a-days however, the wife doesn't like em alot.  She hates that I play them and hates it even more that I "waste" money on them.

So for a free game, this is an exceedingly well done game, with alot of quests that aren't horrible to read.  Fewer bugs than I've seen in alot of other games and an appearance and UI that isn't completely useless.

For a game that is free, I challenge anyone to show me one better or more comprehensive than this.

One of the main reasons I played Everquest 2 for so long over any other game is because of the story it has...the histroy and the lore.  Still, to this day, in that game, can find something that bring back old old memories form Everquest.  That kind of lore lives on in games.  Even with WoW the story comes from a history of games that Blizzard did, so people that played those warcraft games know that history of the places.

Try to play a game with no histrory or story to it and find how quickly killing 10 rats just to kill 10 rats eats away at your soul.

Oh, don't know why, but when you're title said truth, I actually thought you meant truth as in not biases fallacies. When will I learn?

I'm pretty sure they said it will release in Europe on the 22nd of January.  America should see it 2 to 3 weeks later.  Europe is their pay to play open beta.

And to reply to darwa, yes I have an 80 guard that I've used for everything from raid tanking to soloing

Yeah I know a number that betrayed too, but I don't play paladins as the very first toon in the MMO's I play because they are the best.  I play them for what they are.  I like paladins for a number of reason, the least of which would be their uberness.

Well the first thing you should do is go back to the character creation screen and make a paladin.  ;)

But if you're asking specifically about which AA's to get first.  I'd say go this way since you solo, and you'll want to kill stuff faster.

In the Guardian Tree go down the Slaughter Line and get Double Attack.

Then back to the Warrior tree and go down the Int Line (yeah thats right, Intelligence) 4, 4, 8, 6, 1.  That reuse and recover time can't be underestimated.  Along with the increase of attack speed.  Beleive me, as a DPSer you'll want to attack as often as possible, not just spamming CA's

Then look at the Str line.  4, 4, 8.  Melee crit chance will be nice.  From there, hopefully you'll know what you'll want to be doing.

Good luck

I'm on Oasis, and it's seems to be a very populated server.  I know of at least 20 secessful raiding guilds on that server and still tons of other guilds that have dozens of people in them that dont' raid all the time.  I don't know how much more full AB is but Oasis seems to be living quite well.

No, Baham is right.  These dungeons are hard for anyone to try to brainlessly melee their way though.  On the other hand if you actually use some resources available and use your brain, these become very fun and ultimatly more rewarding fights.

You might be shutting down EQ2 wrong everytime if it's taking along time to Scan everytime you start it up.

For me, it does the preload scan thingy in about 4 to 8 seconds.  Then I enter my info and it does the looking for updates section where you select your toon, and that only takes 1 to 2 seconds (unless there is a download) and then I'm in the game 20 seconds later.

www.eqtraders.com   or www.eqtrader.com  with the s or without.  I'm not sure.

And, aside from the multipule chooses they do already have, excatly how many variation of "plate" armor can there be?

Plus, with the ability (once you get over 20) to equip anything in the appearance slots you can look however you want.  I know my tank is wearking mostly leather and chain for appearance.

Best site to get some of the best players in the game to help you out.

By the name of it you'd think it was all about bashing EQ2, and there is some of that one there, but those same people that bash the game, love it and play it more than anyone else...so they know their shit.

Just find the Shadowknight forum and you'll be golden.  This is the site I make all new members to my guild check out, and it diffenatly helps them get to know their class better.

The Houseing might be instance, but get in a medium to large guild, and go into your guild hall and it's anything but an instance.

My guild has 50 members, and their are always people filling the guild hall it seems.

On the other hand, the introduction of guild halls does make the game look more empty in the old "gathering" points than it really is.

Qeynos Harbor, East Freeport, used to be a buzz with dozens of people all hours of the day, now their are only a hand full of people in those zones at any give time.  Thats largly due to guild halls and the fact that these halls have everything and more than those old popular zones had/have.

Edit  - here are the classes and the want/need in raids and their dps'age in soloablity

Brigand, or Swashbucker - wanted in raids, always asked to join pick-up raids, lots of dps in a short amout of time, and can survive vs. quite a few mobs if need be, and there's always evac.

SK - currently way overpowered since TSO changes, not much need in raiding guild, seldom asked to join pick-up raids, but can handle themselves vs a number of mobs and pretty much just kill them and not worry about it.  Not super high dps unless you are really well geared out.

Bezerker - not wanted by anyone, pick-up raids or raiding guilds.  Can't survive well, but can do good outright dps.  Swarmed by mobs, unless you are uber, you won't survive like an SK or Brig/Swashy

Casters - not much need for any of them (other than coercers or Illys) in raiding guild, usually so many of them around that even pick-up raids over fill with casters.  Good dps, but won't survive vs. a gang of mobs.

Again, most raiding guilds already have 2 or 3 people that play the tank classes for their guild, so making a tank of any sort won't get you into many, if any, raids.

Good luck and enjoy EQ2.

Yeah, TSO adds a differant way to do stuff.  You had RoK with avoidance, and now TSO you need mitigation.

Some of the best info for online games come from plat farmers.  You should heed their advice and learn from their knowledge.

If this Station Cash thing is a game canceler for you....whao!!

The only items you can "buy" with station cash are items the increase exp gain.  Who cares!!!  Nothing you can buy gives you any type of edge.

And...well...I bet your also the type that just can't stand people who order a #1 at McDonalds...and then...OMG...order a shake or apple pie.  Fuck those people...that shit doen't come wiht a #1...and why the fuck do they have more money to spend on stuff they want than I do.  Fuck McDonands, Rich people who can spend they money on whatever they want, and SoE for allowing them to spend their money.

Every guild on Oasis that raids is looking for utiltiy.

Illy's, Coercers, Bards.  Also many look for defilers, but all will take an intelligent player that plays their class well.
