"Fixed" is kind of relative to who you are talking to. Personally I do not think that Funcom can make up for their sluggish response to all the bugs and lack of PvP attention. Many people that defend Funcom and AoC usually have not experienced AoC past level 50 and they probably play on a PvE server. I am not going to list all the things that are broken and lacking, since they have been posted so many times already that it would just be overkill. The phrase "Too little, too late" applies perfectly to AoC and its development (or lack of development). |

He was referring to Debit Cards, which are accepted just like a credit card. I am not sure if you have the option where you live. In the U.S. you can get one through your bank/credit union if you have a checking account. You might look into it for everyday use as well. It is much easier to use a debit card then write a check, in most cases. |

It is becoming more and more common in MMORPG's. I remember in Vanguard there were a few different hack programs that were being used right up until they released Ancient Port Warehouse. The program could set your speed extremely high, teleport you a set distance, levitate you, and run at a set axis. It was pretty lame and I was surprised it took SoE as long as it did to finally baffle the coder that was updating the memory address.
*Edit - I am not sure how they can stop the client side hacks, since I am not familiar with programming but I know in Vanguard they could not detect you hacking unless they saw you directly doing it. There is just so many people in the game it would be kind of hard to watch every single person.

I am not trying to start anything but was it your intention to spell prophecies as prophocies? |

I think AoC is fine. Have you seen how marketed AoC is lately? I am quite surprised at how many places I see banners for AoC at. Eidos might have laid off a lot of people but if Funcom already signed a contract with Eidos I am sure they will have some employees staying on to handle AoC. I think they realize how big a game AoC will be. Keeping their name on this game will be good for the future of Eidos, whatever is going on with the company. |

Everyone assumes that this XP ring is so worth it but I would hazard to say there is probably going to be XP rings that drop in-game also. I say this because Anarchy Online (Funcom game) also has XP rings that drop in that game. I also bet one drops before you get to 20 and finish the tutorial. I personally would never pay an extra $30-$40 for a ring that is going to drop in-game, no doubt, and for a drinking cape... Power to anyone that wants to waste the money, to each his/her own. I have not beta tested, other than the PvP weekend, so I cannot verify my suspicions because one did not drop in the game before you got to Tortage. That does not prove anything though. They probably do not have all the items even in closed beta. I bet they also will not have them in open beta so people that were going to buy the CE just for the ring, don't change their mind and cancel it because they discover you can get one to drop in-game. |

20 minutes in I turned off Local Chat

That does not sound realistic. If they really want the game to fail they will do this. From what I understand it will have an item store so I am not sure how you would become a "premium" member. Buy one item and you are a premium member? Does not sound realistic. |

MMOG general chat, for the last few years, has been 70% immature children, regardless of the MMOG. If you know of a MMOG with great gameplay and a mature, and respectful community please e-mail me the name of it. I miss the days when general chat was not full of nit wits spouting stupid things left and right. |

Anyone else quit MMORPGs all together?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 2/25/08 3:32:00 PM
Control and moderation are the key. There are many that play MMOG's and lead a successful life. I know as long as computers exist I will always play MMOG's. I am convinced that there will never be a perfect MMOG for me. I will always be looking for the next game on the horizon. |

The player run economy was not all that great and the open pvp was a nightmare. There were way too many renegades. In FoM there was not a big penalty for just randomly ganking people, which is why 50% of the players were gankers. I am not saying this game will be like FoM I am just stating the obvious, which is that this game is promising a lot of the same things that FoM promised. |

This game looks very interesting. I see it uses the same graphics engine as Assassin's Creed and what StarCraft II will use. The screen shots so far look kind of rough. I assume it is because the pictures are alpha stage screen shots. |

Does anyone else think that this game is a lot like Face of Mankind - www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/setView/overview/gameID/91 |

Originally posted by blackbellamy I do not want to get into an e-peen swinging contest but I have participated in many, many betas. Some things are addressed prior to launch and some are not. I do not see this as a game breaker in the least like you do. As a few others have mentioned, this is not the forums to be talking about a game that is in beta. It violates the eula. Also I am not a fanboi but thanks for assuming that. |

Well considering it is in beta still I am guessing this will be a non-issue because I am sure many have already complained about the chat box. Considering that it is in beta still why are you even talking about it? I am sure you could complain about a slew of things wrong with the game but surely most of them will be fixed before live. |

The original poster just copy and pasted from a post on the VG website so I am guessing it is as accurate as it can be. |
