Also trying to become Korean in anticipation of AA? This might help.

Next to eating penis fish on a daily basis, this pic I found might help your transformation. Korean doesn't seem so hard at all.

It's unfortunate, but the more I play, the more I think...

Interesting thread. Thanks for the honesty guys. Fence sitting myself here. Ex D1 and D2 addict and played the D3 beta, didn't like it and postponed buying into it so far. Some of you perfectly echo some of the concerns I have and it seems I am not done postponing yet :) Makes me think about Titan Quest and how it added new world bosses at higher difficulty levels with on par or sometimes better drop rates compared to some Act bosses. That helped a bit in keeping the difficulties more distinct. |

Please do not destroy Elder Srolls with crappy [mod edit] graphic and combat system!

Quick. Wrap it around you!
i.e. don't think naming particular games will help this discussion. Let's just hope they won't make it a cookie cutter themepark mmorpg of which so many already bored us to death. But so far it looks like they are on track to do just that, sadly. |

PlanetSide 2: Air Combat on a Massive Scale

Originally posted by ironhelix Yup. Also it was on the Battlefield Vietnam playlist leaning on the same Apocalypse Now reference. My fav. song during areal assaults (along with Edwin Starr's "War, what is it good for?") Originally it is much older though. But I bet that Wagner would be proud that his music still moves people almost 160 years after he composed it.

Originally posted by Zylaxx The rushing argument falls a bit flat in the face of teleporting. Anyone in a hurry would use teleporting instead and only use mounts for short stretches (unless you are discovering the world for the first time so you are still unable to teleport everywhere, but they could always restrict mount use to a certain level range to prevent low level "turbo-discovery"). Personally I would use a mount to "not rush"; physically travel from A to B rather than teleport there whenever I feel like it.

In that sense they didn't rule them out in designing the world. The biggest diminishing factor on the chance to have mounts, in my mind, is fans who are vehemently opposing their addition because they have been up in arms against people complaining about the lack of them. It could work like a self-fulfilling prophecy to not have them when a big chunk of fans desperately cling to the notion that they are not needed, nor wanted and would make the game more wow like or something. I would like to see them personally. Running everywhere already started to annoy me in the beta weekend (not because it took so much time but because it's kind of unimmersive to not have any natural kind of transport).

Player died after playing Diablo III for 72h straight ...

Well, only one in 6+ million so far ... Statistically speaking I'd be tempted to say playing this game is good for your health. |

PlanetSide 2: Air Combat on a Massive Scale

Rockin'. Ride of the Valkyries always tickles my heroic gland. Can't be arsed that Hitler would wholeheartedly agree with that. If I have to nit pick: that cockpit view is AWESOME to have, just do something about those blue floodlights from the dashboard interface. Yuck. Make them glow softly green or something. |

Agreed. Fun game. Managed to pull me in much more than the D3 beta. But between D3, TL2 and PoE my personal preference is leaning towards Path of Exile. It felt more realistic, scary and challenging and the freedom in character development was like a breath of fresh air. |

Yup, getting more and more tempting to resub for me too. They are on the right track with this stuff. Does anyone know what they did with the Concord bribes for war decs? Did they change much? I can see how the ability to easily find mercs is something which will benefit especially fresh player corps when they get lol-decced by high-sec pseudo pirate corporations. Also the new 'splosions and missile effects are very appealing. (As if Caldari wasn't popular enough, *shakes fist*) |

Originally posted by BarCrow Hear, hear. Somehow it's a law of nature that as soon as scores are added to a review, the shit hits "the fan" (and sometimes the hater too). Seems strong reactions to scores and trying to attack a writer's credibility are paramount for proper functioning of the universe or something. Fun fact: It's most often the readers which have way too much vested interest in the hype or dehype of games. For them to accuse the writer for not having integrity is a textbook example of "casting the first stone". @Those who are comparing the score to other games: mmorpg.com does re-reviews to be able to cover a game's long term value and growth or lack thereof. Seems to be a very fair review. And people, ... 7.7 is NOT bad! I hope mmorpg.com will keep up this realistic scoring habbit. All gaming sites that ride the waves of player anticipation and accomodate fans in reafirming their hype with very high scores lost much of their credibility in my eyes. In that sense some of mmorpg.com's scores of the past might have been a tad on the high side compared to what Tera gets now but this a good precedent. We should stop expecting scores only in the 8.5 - 10 bracket. |

Crazy numbers and I didn't even buy it yet. I wonder what Diablo 4 will do when it launches in 2036.

"Death becomes a mere setback" We should probably interpret that as "yet another game without actual excitement enhancing negative consequences to dying". (Not that full loot is the only way to go, though, there's more ways to stimulate players really not wanting to die). Personally I'm really bored of pvp with just a token debuff or durability hit and where you are back in the action in mere seconds like nothing ever happened. It makes fights so insignificant. |
