This game is so heavy on the storyline that its going to run on rails even worse then the most hardcore themepark games.

I'm saying it now when this game releases its going to be a smashing success but the people on this forum won't consider it a MMO just like they do for Guildwars.

There's nothing wrong with a Crpg imo, we need a new one to play tbh. Havent had a nice one since GW released what five years ago. If you don't think its going to be a heavily main player focused storyline like a SP rpg just wait. Ill be Necroing this post when the game releases just to tell you how much fun im having and how glad I am that we have a new awesome game to play.

 

From what I have read on the official forums and various articles etc they are not making your conventional MMORPG, it is just going to be KOTOR on a bigger scale and based online (thats my opinion). That's why you shouldn't expect this game to be something it won't be. I admit I am disappointed that they aren't making a full blown sand boxed MMORPG; however that being said the original KOTOR was a fantastic game purely because of the story lines and polish and thats all I expect from SWTOR a game with great stories and polish.  A common mistake people make (I am guilty of this also) is that they compare newer games to previous games which they loved to play for example SWG which had its bad points and also good points but SWG is SWG and SWTOR will be SWTOR weather you can call it a MMORPG is one thing but it will be Massively Multiplayer and Online but may not strictly fall in to the RPG category.

BioWare can make it KOTOR with a online feature but what I don't like is a monthly fee and on top of that micro transactions and you will have to pay for additional content that they add after launch.

It looks like the warrior class even has some sort of rage dynamic and stances.  Looking at this game was sort of like seeing the top half of some playboy picture, I got excited until after looking further I saw that she wasn't really a she.

Anyway, this game may be the best kept secret in MMO's. It has, by far the best graphics (I have played AoC and LoTR is far better). It uses DirectX 10 (only current MMO?)  and is just plain fun. I hope more people will give it a try. Dont expect it to compete membership wise with above un-named game...but would like for it to stay around for a long time. I think espec ially those that think AoC is best graphically should give it a shot. They are in for a surprise.

 

Lineage II looks better, NCsoft truly has the best artists in the business.

I think that it launced in 2004 or something like that and uses the Unreal II game engine.

Flame Magus for me (I think that they are called that) I'm just tired of the weak melee classes in other MMORPG's.

In every darn MMORPG the Necromancer/Warlock/Wizard/Mage is always OP, atleast in the first weeks/months after launch.

So I just want to play one of those OP classes for a change.

Yeah, Atlantis probably were somewhere south of Greece because they were on the brink of sending out war fleets to other nations before disaster struck so the island must have been pretty close to the mainland.

And what comes to alien life in the universe... take a look at a picture of our galaxy and then look at where our sun is, it would be pretty strange if we were the only intelligent form of life out there.

It might also have been an island or it might not.

It was a very advanced civilization but it could have been that they were in the latter stages of the iron age when the rest of the world were still in the early bronze age.

By your own defintion, World of Warcraft is the only MMO in the history of MMOs that hasn't failed. Every game that has ever come out eventually lost subs. I guess when the day FINALLY arrives that World of Warcraft is pulling less than a million subs it will be a failure. But that would be after 5+ years as the number one MMO on the market. So it's safe to say your little standards are unrealistic.

But you guys still haven't answered my question. Just what is the intended purpose of trolling forums and predicting doom for all  games that aren't even in BETA yet? Is it because you lack attention in the real world or is there some method to your madness?

Because on a forum, discussion doesn't equal praiseal?

And maybe because we are greatly disappointed with the devs?

Actually, in this article, the author uses the term "tits" in a satirical way, highlighting the often immature attitudes toward breasts that are taken in video games.

-no dual classes - Why do you need to be more than 1 thing?

-no creature handler - Go buy a dog.

-Jedi will not be rare - They aren't suppose to be rare. This is Knights of the Old Republic time frame.

-no player owned cities - Yeah like we really need 20 miles of silos and empty buildings scarring up the game world.

-player housing? - WHY do you need this? Even in games that have it, it is just a novel idea.

-player owned shops - Noone cares.

-player owned vendors - Noone cares, this particular one isn't even wanted or needed.... Ragnarok anyone? (shivers)

-player bases - Might be ok, this one I will say would be cool, if guilds could own a starbase or something.

-space combat? - Don't really need it, or care.
