Obviously my perception of the situation could be misconcieved but I come from a guild with over 1,000 members. We play a vast majority of games. At launch STO had about 400 members if I remember correcyly. Within the first year the number was well below 100, as of right now there are 3 people currently subscribed(not counting the 14 people with lifetime subs). During updates the number jumps up to about 30 or so, but most unsub once they have experienced the content contained within the update. |

Is there a 'leveling guide' anywhere for STO?
General Discussion « Star Trek Online 7/27/11 3:29:01 PM
I'm currently at commander and just floating around in space with no real direction. In my past MMO's there has always been a wealth of resources to help direct a player to where the next best place is to go. I've googled around for a bit but can't really find any information(except those paid guide scams) theres not really any guides/resources on the STO wiki.
I'm looking for something that shows the 'linear direction of content', while this may vary a bit the game does support enough of a linear structure to create one. Such as at Level 10 your optimal mission zone is x, level 20 is y. Also something that points out, you just hit level X now would be a good time to check out this thing here. Like I said I'm about half way though commander and am at a loss on where I should be heading to so any help would be greatly appreciated :) |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Lore Outside the Game

What does this have to do with the novels...? <.<
I read his first SW novel, and I didn't consider it even half as good as his Mass Effect ones. This one may be better, who knows. |

@S00S00 Not trying to troll or flame, but it's kinda funny that the one thing out of all those errors you fixed was dumbest, lol.
That being said, I'm a big guildie and all but I sure would like some other things shown off as well. I've yet to be shown enough to pre-order a copy. There is still so much up in the air regarding gameplay. |

You should look up some of the guides out there that show you the direction to best utilize your money/time in F2P. |
BioWare is a company that has made a very good reputation for itself as a producer of quality, story based RPGs. To expect a major departure from a basic formula that has supported and grown the company into one of the bigger brands in gaming is just silly.
My only contention with this, is that they aren't making a single player RPG - they are making an MMO - there are many similiarties and differences between the two, they can't just take their 'normal bullet point development cycle' and slap together a loose party system, and an AH and force feed it as an MMO to the already existing MMO community; especially when you want a monthly fee from it. |

Final Fantasy XIV: A Message from the Director
News Discussion « General Discussion 10/15/10 4:43:30 PM
I think they noticed how many people were talking about not subbing once the free trial ended, I know 100% that I wasn't going to - and out of the 10 people I play with that bought the game only 1 of them was going to keep playing after the free trial. I'll still log in maybe once or twice this week - but the game needs a lot more 'polish' before I'm willing to put a monthly cost on myself for a half-completed project; regardless of if it was an executive decision or development decision to push it out the door. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Daniel Erickson’s Quest Breakdown

It's too bad that the entire game is based around story and there won't be much in the way of people only playing one character. I enjoy side leveling an alternate here and there when I get bored - but when the response for 'what do you do at 'end game'' is 'roll an alt' I can tell the game isn't for me. I'm all for making leveling alt's more appealing and the like - but I would like to experience as much content on one character as possible, and TOR is going out of it's way to make sure you keep leveling, then level an alt, then level another alt etc etc. There will be no 'player persistence' since everyone is going to have 6 characters -_- |

There are quite a few places where the translations are down right incorrect, I don't understand how someone being paid by a company to translate can make such great errors... |

There is a whole slew of gramatical errors in this article...I thought MMORPG.com had editors? |

My guess is they are adding ina web based version of the lotro store, honestly. It's quite a bit longer then usual though. |

Anyone know how long todays site mait. is supposed to last? It's been down for about 6 hours now and still can't hit any Turbine websites, lol. I don't play all that much so I don't ever see when a mait. is coming and there is no data in my launcher about it. |

My computer runs it at max with little to no issues(outside of the well known issues) and my wfies alienware runs it faily well but you have to turn off quite a few settings(Shes got an MX17 Dual 512 SLI Enabled Cards, Lolcure2duo and only 4Gigs of ram - but it still looks great and runs 'well enough' as long as you mess with the system settings enough. I assume the ful retail version will have better scaling anyways. |

If you don't know the correct answer - stop posting. They have sent out 0 codes since the system went down this morning(around 5am EST), anyone who says they got a code since then is lieing through their teeth - the code generator isn't even linked into the page anymore ; it auto redirects to the 'We are no longer offering keys atm' page - and has since last night. No matter how long you keep refreshing ANY page you aren't going to get a key. Your best bet is to wait until SE gets ahold of a translator and finally issues a statement on what is going to happen, and even then trusting their translations is silly. |
