zones are only 20~40........at peak on the english servers they are at least 6 zones out or 33+ i have seen that are full (100), then rest can range anywhere between 75~95, off peak it is about 20 channels with an avg of 60 players each. Also there is lairs, the other zones with each having the same number, the power house and pvp so it is fair to say at peak on the english servers there is at least 10,000 players playing.

the voice overs....i dont like them but that is because they are comic book type voice overs.

some mobs are to close some are not, you just have to learn how to playing using acrobatics

as for the maps, i do think they need to work on that, some of it is "god my eyes let me leave before i fall asleep", but in an interview with bill roper he said that they stop creating new contetnt because when they did internal testing the game sucked, so they focused on getting what they have to be good, and then that went into closed beta then with more improvements,, so basically they all the betas they really did not focused on content that much.

the patcher tries to download 6 diffrent files ta a time at most and sometimes whle downloading blocks of data is stalls and then it tries to download the next set  and the % downloaded does not go up till that piece of data is completely finished.

Why these mmo's are not on mmorpg's game list?

i think the reason they IP block it is because they want to have it localized, like in japan, europe, etc but i always wonder why blade and soul, YS, and ragnaok online 2 are not on mmorpg.com

i will say yes it is the same hype but also new hype from the lessons learned from ffxi, people want to see if they will be more charecter customization, guilds (and not linkshells but actual guids) pvp, how will your blackmage be diffrent from other black mages etc stuff like that, we want answered.

i cant wait for the swordmaster update oh man hope they really fix them

Oh wow did not think this would reach 5 pages, sure some of this is old news in a way but it shows that mythic intends to show a faster response to thier customers, also with the news of an official forums thats a big step and the combat review patch (the careers overhaul) thats nice.

http://herald.warhammeronline.com/warherald/NewsArticle.war?id=599

i wonder how do the doomsayers and haters will reply to this news.

i think this is when they will release the career combat rehaul, that they had talked about on the test forums when 1.1 released.

it is actual 5 trophies and there is alot of trophies you can see

white lions rocks.......my guild leader is one (Nation on skull throne, you guys can look him up) and he is a beast seen him do 200k+ damage in a scenario (winning sce of coruse but i have seen him still do 150k with no healer) but yea they do need a tank friend once they have that forget it.

Warhammer PVP is fine for a relatively non-intensive month or two. After that it fades fast...

I tend to agree, the thing that I think made me stop playing is in WAR there was no end game to speak of. That is what makes WoW so appealling is the loads of stuff to do after max level.

are fucking serious? the problem for me was no tier 3, only real dungeon for tier 3 is gunbad, but in tier 4 you have bastaion stairs, warpblade, lost vale, keep raids (though the main problem for me is in tier 4 keeps change so after go back and forth that it gets tired of the keep swapping). lairs, the endless amount of chap 20~24 pqs which some are hard.

as for the PvE side lacking, you guys need to explore there is so much shit there, i am trying to go through all the zones again and complete everything, what about the hidden dungeon in the orc area, the lair behind the waterfall in empire zone, the 3 diffrent lairs in the highelf/dark elf areas, the secret champ and her mobs that you get unlocks from besides from the lairs, the diffrent easter eggs and quest which are at least 8 in each srating area and all of this is in the tier 1.

you get the from tome unlocks, like looting 100 corspes or kill 1000 dark elfs or orcs or humans.

there are others that come from hidden easter eggs, like this one you hit this rock and it falls over and kill this snotling, or from kill all the heros in all the lairs, there is alot of PvE content to explore.

just stay on the road, keep running along it and it will lead you to the next chapter.

would that not be a case of marketing myphoria?

PS. WoW was a big flop for me, i did not even played it for a full month, hell i played AoC and Matrix online longer than WoW.

anyway i spent enough time on these forums, Right now there is a 4 and a half warband group on skull throne trying to lock the dwave zone in tier4.

Compared to how much they hyped the game, and how much potential the Warhammer name has (had), I'd consider that to be a flop.

how is it a flop? it is only released in US (with ocenaic servers and the EU.

it has the second most pay to play US sub base, only yo be beaten by WoW, even back in 2005 and 2006 WoW did not have the largest population.

will WAR ever beat those numbers HELL NO, even at the very rapid and succesful rate they they been improving WAR, they need to reach out more, raise thier server population cap from the speculated 5000 to 7000 and improve the ORvR spabilty more (mostly refering to tier4) and have a training grounds or something for first time MMO players.

so no the game is not a flop when they have already made at least 30 mil. in 4 months from a game they that cost 40 mil to make and that is US only.

I keep hearing from fans of a certain other game cough WOW cough that WAR is a total flop and financial disaster.  This post is not to start a fanboi flamefest, but only to point out that WAR actually did very well in total box sales - .1.2 million and had 800,000 subscribers in the month after launch.

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6200329.html?tag=latestheadlines;title;1

Now, I recognize that WAR may not have 800K today, I think part of that is they launched at the same time as Blizzard's latest big release. I have nothing against Blizzard, but let's face it - they are the top name in PC Gaming. If you compare WAR sales to other AAA PC titles, it's actually been a major success. And the estimated 600K current subscribers makes it one of the biggest MMOGs behind WOW in North America/Europe. That means WAR is far from an "epic fail" or a "dying game."

Personally, I think if Mythic can keep improving the game as quickly as they are doing, subs will surpass 1 million as people get burned out on WOTLK.

I don't think box sales really determines a flop or not (for mmorpgs).   Developers only get about 20% of the proceeds of box sales.   So Warhammer cost about 40M to make, and they got back about 8M from box sales.   Maintaining subscribers is what makes money.

I'm not sure where Warhammer will come out.  It's clear that they lost over half of that 800k so far.  They have merged well over half their servers and a large portion of the 'destination' servers are still very inactive.  Warhammer has also fallen off the sales charts, so don't expect an influx of new players any time soon.

I think it fits in well with the Eve, Lotro, EQ2 area of the chart.   But I do think Warhammer is in a much more precarious situation from those games because it is almost purely based on endgame pvp that requires a large amount of players to make it fun.  The 'fun-factor' of Warhammer drops off quickly as populations drop.

and where did you get your facts from?

Which facts are you questioning?

It's a pretty much 'industry' norm that retail boxes pass on between 15-20% to the developer.  You can look at Funcoms, Blizzards are a variaty of other gaming companies to see this number come up over and over.   It's usually 15% in EU and 20% in the US... the overall average depends on where the sales come from.

Xfire is down 75%.    60% of servers have been 'abandoned'.     Stating a 50% loss in max populations is a reasonable guess.   Read the Vault forums, just today there was a nice thread of people talking about thier 'destination' servers being very low pop now.

instead of you guessing and pulling pencentages out of your anus and only using a small pool of  players to make these inaccurate guesses post some actual facts like this......

The stats are being pulled from guilded characters only, and players who are not flagged as hidden.

Last Update: Wednesday, September 25, 10 AM

 Order: 69811

Destruction: 102576

Novemerber 2nd, 10 am

Order: 203,916
Destruction: 260,958

now even if it is 90% of the population is guilded and 10% is solo and flagged as hidden that will still have a total of more than 500,000 subs, and that is for US servers only.

it does pretty well for the age of reckoning time period and fits it very well into a mmo setting.
