Diablo 3: Blizzard Removes RMT to Get South Korean Approval

Aye much like china's way to treat the market. Buy from us but we wont buy from you.
I have yet to see what RMT brings to the table that the AH doesnt already provide. The problem with D2 was that gold was worthless , but that just requires balancing. |

Eastern MMOs are becoming "adult" centric
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 1/16/12 7:19:33 AM
As far as im concerned those graphics wont be what makes me stay or not in a game. Even though those MMO have barely clothed female characters, they actually look good as well but without trying them i couldnt say for sure. I think games get a much harsher treatment than real life advertizing does. Mabey its because people feel they can change the developers mind, which they cant in rl with advertizing. Funny thing though Gore is fine and dandy but nipples are the spawn of satan ... i guess il never understand extremist. |

Diablo 3: Blizzard Removes RMT to Get South Korean Approval

Originally posted by nybrat The gold in game was already worthless in d2, dont fool yourself by thinking people will have a choice. It will be there for people to use but everyone will have the illusion they can make money off playing a game ... Blizzard has simply gave up as they cant seem to control RMT in all of their games ( it would probably hinder their profits to pay someone to maintain a RMT free game ) People seem to think that there are no farmer beside RMT farmers and that its the only way to get said items ... if anyone has played d2 for long enough they would know that after a certain point, a good chunk of your time would be sunked into farming runs from boss. Farmers exist regardless of RMT, AH turns into a 3rd party for sales instead of being an auction house. Oh and i cant wait to see people bit**ing when dupes come out and they paid good money for them , only to see them deleted by blizz. |

Its a shame though the game was a good one , im not sure everyone would have went with it but if they needed more funds im sure CS sales and minor price increase would have been acceptable to teh community, but the same problem is always the investors pushing for something they have no idea on.
Personally i blame Gpot for their forum Nazi censorship, it killed the community even more. When you start banning people on forum and in game, Because they expressed their opignions and concerns you deserve all the trash talk you get in return and bad publicity.
But i agree that they had little their hands and feet tied, from what i remember they did say they would bring the players concern to Gala /mail.ru but they just wouldnt listen :( |

I agree with some of your points Ikeda like the game designs but thats a problem with the game and personally i just dont play or encourage those games. Again about Eve i dont agree with their practice either their on the same level as blizzard , their fine with it as long as they get their cut. Thats why certain games that will come out will change the way the old MMO works and its about time a compagny actually tries to make the games fun instead of a grindfest. I think games like wow got used to the gold sellers and jacked the price accordingly, but then again i never played it and never will. The gold you buy though does effect others. Without buyers there wont be as much sellers ive lived it in FFXI, eventually when there wasnt enough demand and they got pushed too hard by SOE the price of buying new games to get a couple of accnts set up just wasnt worth what they were making selling gold. Its a big issue that will not go away by itself people need to take actions and talk with their money. Unfortunatly too many people think its no big deal.Ive played enough F2p where they were rampant and made it impossible to play normally a good exemple is Silkroad online. Please check a few videos im sure there are some on youtube, It got to the point people couldnt even log into the game. I think the same thing happend in Aion and look how well it did ( certainly didint help that it was infested with boters and farmers ) if nothing is done to keep them out and make sure that kind of buisness is not profitable in p2p games then they will disapear slowly. |

Originally posted by fiontar I wouldnt get my hopes up for ME3 from what i read its a conclusion to the game, i found ME2 very short personally i dont think ME3 will be much different. They clearly showed with DA2 they didint care much about what players want simply because people are sheep and buy them anyway. As far as im concerned im waiting for reviews before i buy it but then again theres so many sellouts nowadays. |

The main reason i think RMT still exist is because of people who rather take a shortcut than actually playing the game. Its obvious that RL takes alot of time and makes it impossible to spend as much time as others to progress in game but thats a given. If you dont work for it ( so to speak ) imo you shouldnt be as well geared as those that do have the time, its just part of the game design thats why FTP trive so much but dont bring that **** into p2p games. If both sellers and buyers would get banned im sure alot of the RMT would dissapear off most games. i dont think a player would want to lose hundreds of dollars if not thousans over getting caught buying gold. If your not ready to play by the rules set out for players , look for something else to play. I love when people say get a job like a grown up yet they act like brats who want instant gratification by buying levels / gold off farmers . |

I also used to play this game since early Cbt until the famous patch , most of my guild ( the biggest on empire side) saw it as an insult when they rigged the game and cash shop to make players 100% dependant on it.Its a shame too i had 4000 gold 3-4 lvl 40 and was enjoying the heck out of pvp and lets not forget future patch that promised guild controlled allods for territorial wars. The censorship on the forum put them on even ground with RL dictators , even well phrased critism were met with ban's on forum and in game.Such a shame Gpot were allowed to manage it and mail.ru astrum naval etc... those 3 will never get my money. |

You should also check out their forum. Mods in mount and blade increase the lifespawn of the game by so much , ive been playing for a year easy.It was usually the game i came back to when i was bored in mmo's. |

FoD - Is it really that bad? And proof if it is please.
General Discussion « Allods Online 2/13/10 9:55:08 PM
For pve i agree there should be more of a consequence than just spending some gold to buy myrth , although 25% stats reduction in a game like this is a bit much still .The problem is that theres no Pve exclusive gameplay or rarely , im not saying it often happens but theres an item that forces your pvp flag up along with some mobs which means if for some reason you just feel like questing that might not be possible if a HL decides to kill lowbies to kill time that day .
All in all its not a bad game but some things do need the attention of the devs , it seems like they repeat the same mistakes some p2p game maker made and give little importance to the community suggestions. |

If you look at the russian forum which has been in obt for over a year i think , it seems clear they will not change it anytime soon . Im also hoping they will understand their poor decisions and work around them to make things decent , the increase time on Dot between damage for exemple leaves the summoner useless in pvp or at least reduce their pvp capability by alot . Its all about balance if they dont get that from the feedbacks of the RU , EU and US community then it will just be another mmo with good potential dying . |

For the problem your having with the client its a known issue on the forum there are solutions including renaming the launcher in the bin folder to LuncherO , then lunch it as soon as theres a box that pops out press enter and it will re download it and will work fine afterward. The game does get faster later it shouldnt be judged pre lvl 10 as its really slow there and laggy , the issue im having is with Fear of death ( death penality that reduce stats by 25% for 51 min at 40 and can stack up to 4 time ) and of course cash shop that seems to be the main focus of the people behind it . The closed beta ended not long ago and it should be back on the 16th il be there to see if things changed , give it a shot at least but dont get your hopes up :) |

Its a shame they had to make the penality so harsh imo -25% stats at each death is too much in a game like allods where stats mean EVERYTHING theres a delicate balance that needs to be maintained each time you level. At 40 the debuff lasted 51 minutes for me and costed around 3 gold each time for one stack of Fod not all 4 , now you may think oh 3 gold is nothing but the problem is the astral ships to get one ( not guild ship ) you have to pay around 1500 gold and get 3 licence for mats. The time to gather that much seems considerable if Fod comes into play you may never get there unless you buy gold from item mall . I have nothing against a game needing money and actualy planned to support them since to me allods was a breath of fresh air in the f2p market. They promised that the cash shop would be balanced and the difference CC players and normal ones would not be significant.Perfume effects reduces the duration of CC spells for a few class by 70% which put them on a normal time of about 20 sec , but it also boosts you hp by up to 50% (in a game where some classes can have easily 100-150 k hp ) imo thats pretty imbalanced,it also pretty much killed the summoner class in pvp increasing the time before damage between their Dot by 20 sec. The game has been out for a while in russian and from what i hear from some of them who moved to other versions hoping the grass would be greener, about 80% of their player base left as the game was almost unplayable. Thats aside from the fact those who manage the game there only cared about the money "milking" them for all they had. Mmos needs cash yeah np with that , the only problem is weither its balanced or for CC players only which to me seems to be the case with allods as it stands they dont seem to care at all what their players think, either on RU EU or US version .
p.s. The daily quest to get perfume only provides one which last for 30 minutes . Good luck pvping and actualy enjoying it in such short amount of time. |

Problem with that is DDO didint start as a f2p it cant even be compared to the rest. Its like comparing most p2p to f2p of course they will look alot better but they didint have the same ressources to work with , although il admit its a shame some f2p who do well dont put up a better product out there. |

Allods is far from being a finished product but then again it still is in beta phase , that being said to my experience only the noob area is laggy since more people gave it a try recently for cbt4 the rest of the game is pretty much lag free. The leveling isnt so bad since its more quests driven than a grind fest like other mmo out there , you can get a level and a half or so each day in the important levels neway , yes leveling pre 10 is long but you shoudlnt judge the game simply on that take it more as a guided tour. As far as pvp fights go theres almost no lag even in intense battles of 20 ,classes need some balancing and adjustment but overall dont judge the game on the earlly levels give it an honest try. Like it or hate it your call , just dont call it a wow clone or pay 2 win because it has some elements from that old fart of a game and before the cash shop even goes live.Graphicly the game is much better than any f2p out there and comes close to some p2p. |

Can anyone name a MMO that is realistically impossible to reach max level?
LFGame « General Discussion 6/11/09 11:05:24 AM
First one that comes to mind is perfect world max level is 120 just to give an idea from level 100-101 the tnl is basicly what it took you to go from 1-100 or so thats what im told , no intention of finding out. |

The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/26/09 3:31:22 AM
Uhm seriously 1 sec delay is enough to turn you off a game ? geez i personaly dont have that problem like i used to on pw MY running HH there was scary solo with 2-5 second delay , i guess it depends on where you play from and on which server . |
