This game was a decent game when it was first released. I had lots of fun with, but thats when it only cost 9.99 a month to play and before Bordiel left the dev team.

Now the game is garbage. They have it so rigged up that Wizards can tank, Bards can be the groups main healers.

Were-forms are utter garbage, and this year theyve added vampire forms. The raid mobs on the game are all exploitable in some way, items are way over powered

Every tank class now can wield the Shadow Knights level 49 EPIC weapon as a 1hander total garbage.

As for those hunt and gather quest herbs and roots, thats a great idea however a low level character does not benefit from this as level 60 toons camp these low level mobs to farm the herbs and roots to sell in the auction, So unless you have a level 60 or alot of tunar you wont be doing that quest pickclaws is the same way.

Game charges 14.99 now a month also. Just really isnt worth the money. all tanks can now wear robes as theyve added a new robe drop in the game for tanks and it drops like common loot so every tank has it. someone said earlier the game has 20k people . not even close clw at peak times maybe has 200 ppl online at most, and you cant ever get a real exp group as everyone expects a power level or they wont group.

So ya waste your money.

Yeah, you're right about everything you posted. However, around the time that the expansion was released, this was a very good game. All of the new implements that you talk about were added because EQOA's plunged dramatically, and the devs just didn't care about the game enough.

Only EQOA diehards play now. Those same EQOA diehards would disagree that EQOA is "a waste of money", simply because they've enjoyed the game up intil now.

I think most people on this thread would agree with you everything you say, but then again, most people on this thread have moved on and just reminisce about the great game that was EQOA.

This is one of the best MMORPG i've ever played (maybe because it was my first MMORPG). The community is incredible, and even though I never got to 60, I still had a lot of fun.

I had no idea that people still played EQOA. They increased the monthly fee, so I'm not sure if I can come back and level up to 60 lol.

I can certainly say that I am looking forward to the release of this game!  SWG was my first MMO and I loved it dearly until THAT THING happened to it.  Since then no game has come as close to it as FE.  We need more skill based MMOs, there are so few on the market right now.

What I hope is that they will eventually have a housing system similar to SWG.  It was sooo much fun going to player towns back when they were full of people.  It made you feel like you had an impact on the game world, and player shops were great fun as well.

If this is similar to SWG I will buy it and play it. Hopefully it is, so I can has fun!

Seriously, why do we need innovation when the devs haven't even polished mmo v1 technology?

They've all been shying away from the UO way of thinking and using the EQ 1 model of MMO gaming. UO is the way to go, you wanna know what your wow killer will be? It will be a game with the right funding leaning towards an open world with no levels. We don't level up in real life, you only level up on a piece of paper if you're playing D&D because that was the only way to track it. Levels are lame, in real life we learn through practical use and gain strength in whatever it is by doing it more, this is how skill evolution should work, this is how your character should advance.

So until UO 2 comes out, everyone is just EQ 1 with different gimicks.

You're right. The only game I played that was similar to UO (from what I have heard)  in the sense of  "no levels" was SWG, which is possibly the best MMORPG I have ever played. I was too young for UO, but I heard that it was great.

EQ is good,  but the same thing over and over again is lame.  I just think that the consumers are afraid of change and that the businesses are afraid to change their style for the reason that they might lose money.

I was wrong in saying that "one cannot argue that". The graphics are a matter of opinion, like you said. However, I personally dislike the graphics ( I am basing this on one of the newest DF videos - the one you have to download). The lighting is decent, the shadows are decent, but I think the animations are elementary. The blood effects, for example, do not look very good to me.

But then again, you have to remember that Adventurine took the project over from another company and that they are relatively new to the "gaming scene". They are not experienced (again, relative to other companies) in programming, etc.  But hey, maybe the dumbed down graphics are for a reason (large scale battles would lag with better graphics, for instance).

I don't think the graphics will compare to whatever comes out in early '09. Again, this is my opinion that I am just voicing -- I am sure that the gameplay outweighs the graphics.

Yeah, DF graphics are bad -- can't argue with that. But the gameplay is supposedly good.

In respect to console vs PC, I own a PS3 and am very happy with the quality of gameplay and graphics. I have played many PC MMORPGS as well as two PS2 MMORPGS (Everquest online and FFXI) and found that the differences are slim -- At time I have enjoyed the ps2 MMORPGs (EQOA) more than the PC MMORPGS, and vice versa (SWG). I  have been hoping for a good PS3 MMORPG since I bought my PS3, but I don't think that The Agency nor Home can fulfill my expections. Unfortunately for us PS3 MMORPG'ers, it may still be some time before we will get a good MMORPG from SOE.

On the issue of PC Gaming vs Console gaming, keep in mind that the PS3 has USB which can be used to connect a keyboard and a mouse (however I don't think that this will be required) so there should not be that much of a difference.  Also, I personally feel more secure with the prospect of playing a MMORPG on my PS3 than on my PC, simply because I use my PS3 for gaming purposes only and my PC is more likely to become "infected" or crash. Anyways, thats just my 2 cents.
