Are there any good MMOs with a FPS combat style out right now?

Are there any good MMOs with a FPS combat style out right now? I've tried TOR and realize I really hate that style of combat. I'm looking for an MMO with a more FPS style of combat to play. Any suggestions? |

In EVE can you get your character out of the ship yet or is the game still solely based on your ship? I never played but the fact that I couldn't get out of my ship was a big turn-off and one of the reasons I didn't start playing. |

I just started planetside again after about, 6 years away. Had to start from scratch. Since returning I've noticed something. I can practially unload my weapons into some enemy airships and it does almost nothing to them, but my airframe seems to only be able to take a few hits and I'm done. Is there something I'm missing? When I originally played there was a problem with hackers cheating, but I'm not sure if that is still the case. I'm lower leve so perhaps higher level allows people to have ships with more armor despite being the same airframe? Does that sound right? |

I looked into Tera but since its not FPS and is Fantasy its teh exact oposite of what I am looking for. I looked into STALKER Online too and maybe I'll give that a try once it comes out in English. Anyone else have an idea? I'm considering going back to Planetside, but I'mnot sure what the state of that game is anymore. |

Does anyone have any MMO game suggestions for someone who leans more towards sci-fi than fantasy and prefers a more FPS style of combat gameplay rather than the traditional target and cast style of game.
I have tried my hardest to like SWTOR, but the combat gameplay is too slow for me. I need something that moves a bit faster than that. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Thanks Suzie. I completely agree! |

Ok, thanks.
SO the most important things to do in the multi-player demo to assist with the mail game is to level up my characters.
Thanks. |

I'm necro-ing my own thread for the purpose of asking another question.
So I did go give the multi-player demo a try and truth be told, the only realy spoiler was who the bad guys are, because they were good guys at the end of my ME2.... but we all knew that that alliance was bound to fail. Anyway, so its been a blast playing and I am earning the expereince and credits. With the credits I can purchase the booster packs in various types for various ammounts of credits. Are these the things that will aid me in my single-player fight in ME3 and should I be saving my credits and purchasing them when I am in that game as Shepard, or can I buy them now and transfer them to my character in-game when I play? Does anyone know? Also, thanks for recommending I try the demo, its been awesome! |
|
|
Well, maybe I'll give it a try then. Thanks. I appreciate you guys taking the time to fill me in on this. Thanks! |

So I haven't tried the demos (single player or multi-player) for ME3 because I don't want to spoil the story for MY Commander Shepard.
I understand there is a multi-player component of the game and I'll describe how I THINK it works and want to know if that is the case. So, in multi-player you don't play Shepard, but rather a un-named soldier (type dependent on species) working WITH other players online to take out Husks or some other bad-guys. Your accomplishments in multi-player somehow benefit your offline story with Commander Shepard. Is that correct? If so, what kind of benefit does the multi-player have to the offline story? I appreciate the help. |

With the game F2P how are they going to avoid Pay2Win?

Well, I generally associate cosmetic items with RPG games and not FPS games. Maybe there will be a bit enough demand for it in Planetside2 that they will be able to maintain the game. I just think it would be harder than selling "socerers hats" or "unicorm mounts" to RPers in a MMORPG game. |

since the game is a FPS and not really an RPG at heart, there isn't much in social gear or things for visual looks. So I am thinking of what types of things they will have at their item store. Everything that comes to mind is Pay2Win type gear and stuff, which isn't appealing to me. How do you make a game F2P and not Pay2Win in this type of MMO? |

Does anyone know if retailers still sell gamecards for Planetside or is the only way to pay through a monthly subscription via credit-card? |

I use to play on wicanna and although it was the center for the PvE RP community there wasn't much of a place to coordinate or meet other RPers outside of the game. Anyone know if there is currently such a series of forums or message boards where the RP community of AoC communicate? Thanks. |

Thanks! I'll definitely look into that then! |

I guess I would expect most of the population to be at max level by now. What is the major endgame content that most max players are participating in, then? |

Wow, so I can sign up for teh game F2P and Funcom may give me some free premium time, or I can find game cards in stores and get 2 months for around $13.... thats less than $7 a month! Thanks for the info guys! I hope the servers are populated when I get back! |
