Stephen Colbert is running for president!
Off-Topic Discussion « General Discussion 10/17/07 7:59:57 PM
This makes me sad. I love Colbert, but he's going to take votes away from the legitimate democratic candidate. |

What do people think of the AH 1 hour gold delay?
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 9/26/07 11:18:54 AM
Something to consider Re: gold farmers - perhaps the 1 hour delay can be used for GMs to "intercept" gold transfers from gold farmers? I don't really mind the 1 hour delay, but I think it needs to be consistent - if the seller has to wait an hour for the gold, shouldn't the buyer have to wait an hour for the item? That would be too inconvenient for the buyer, so to keep it consistent you need to get rid of the delayed payment. I check my mailbox only after the 24hrs has expired, so it doesn't really make a difference to me. Just another hour to spend doing other things instead of hearthstoning home to collect money and relist items. |

If they stop charging a monthly fee, they might as well shut the whole thing down and walk away. It is so hard to turn a profit in the MMO sector, they would have to be crazy to severely cut their revenue just to make a bunch of unemployed teenagers happy. |

I am really looking foward to checking out this game.
General Discussion « Jumpgate Evolution 8/23/07 9:02:48 AM
JG was my first MMO, and still the only one where pvp made my heart race because I knew the only thing that could save my ass was the hand on the joystick. Can't wait for the new iteration. |

WoW is cheaper when compared to same-era MMOs because the system requirements are lower. People didn't have to upgrade their machines to play it as I (and others) did to play EQ2, SWG, E&B, etc. Sure, the subscription may cost the same, but you can play it on virtually any machine. I have a friend who has a 6 year old PC that has never been upgraded, and he plays WoW because that's the only recent big-name MMO that he can run on it. I've also never seen so many people have their social and professional lives ruined by a game as I've seen with WoW. I could name a dozen people I know that have been negatively affected due to their inability to put the game down, from getting fired to losing a mate to losing custody of their children. |

Exciting news. Jumpgate was my first MMO and I can't wait to see what comes of this. It is still the only game to get my adrenaline flowing and heart pumping - unlike most of today's games, when you get killed, you lose all of your items including artifacts that you can't just fly around and rebuy. |

I'm sad POTBS SIGNED WITH SOE NO!
General Discussion « Pirates of the Burning Sea 6/25/07 10:21:35 PM
The changes SOE made to Star Wars: Galaxies have been really controversial. Aren’t you afraid that you’ll be next?
That's all I needed to hear to soothe my nerves. |

What's the most "Automated" MMORPG you've ever played?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/15/07 11:25:40 PM
Voyage Century Online. The game itself isn't that automated, but it's all repetition so you can macro the hell out of it.

Either this game is really laggy or just buggy,
General Discussion « Star Wars Galaxies 4/24/07 8:04:04 AM
With 1.5Gb of RAM, I could run EQ2 MUCH better than SWG. I could run pre- and post- CU just fine, but the NGE killed my system.
Even if it had run smoothly, I wouldn't have spent more than the couple hours I lost trying to like the NGE :-/ |

Looks an awful lot like a Planetside clone to me.

Foxnews: Will Sony ever be Sony again?
General Discussion « Star Wars Galaxies 8/17/06 8:27:12 PM
Sony will always be Sony, regardless of what SOE does or is doing. Even if people stop buying Sony branded items, they'll still keep their head above water with all the parts they manufacture and sell to other companies.

I don't know much about Hero, but I fail to see where 9 Dragons is a Korean game. If you'd take a look at the developer interviews you'd see that they've got some novel ideas that have never been seen in the mmo genre before. |

If by "leet" you mean "worst mmo ever created", then yes, Runescape is leet.

You can't really put an age on it. You're ready when you're ready. I won't be ready until I finish college and have a house and a stable income.

Earth and Beyond or pre-CU SWG would get my vote... if either still existed...
