Not going to pay, it was ruined when the hackers started coming out in numbers when open beta was announced for APBR.... i had fun while it lasted, but sadly... the maps were never balanced out and hackers just run unchecked doing thier business...

if only they had done shit that the community asked them to do.. FIX NETWORK AND HACKS, but thats never going to happen.. money talks and they want money over spending it...

even the players who owned APB original got stuff out of it... but not much, i wish they would give us old school players permament premium and some access to other weapons for free instead of our generic weapons (and beta testers only got an emote and 1 shotgun that doesnt really do shit...)

They can post up unidentified gear onto the auction house, and identification scrolls along with it... they are trying to say that if a player purchases an UNIDENTIFIED ITEM they will have to pay real money for it for the price that the player sets then identify it, and if its not what they were priced to be or what it was supposed to be... then THATS GAMBLING

Basically what they are saying is this...

Diablo 2 had Unidentified items, Players will post said Unidentified items up (that are high quality types of items) then players will use real money to purchase said item, then use a scroll to identify and then it turns out to be a piece  of shit item... thus it is know Gambling for items

As much as i like the diablo series, i completely hate the fact that we are adding a real money auction system, it really hurts and is just as bad as COD pulling a 15 bucks a month subscription to get little updates for their game... and shitty 17 dollar addons in the game....

eh, they snuck in a lot of sex scenes in the games... i mean come on there were porno scenes in it where women were tied down and some of them had their chests eaten out (you think that didnt bring any sort of flack into the game?) hell its in the beginning when your exploring the beach hotels..

this is just another thing they added and im betting the base model was fully nude and they forgot to add the panties underneath..

its easier to work with a full nude model then to create clothing that may not work correctly overtop when you are placing the bones into thebody and skinning the rig (means to make it bend and move correctly)

ok joke aside, the best place for people to get an understanding of armor is to go back and play UO, armor was really balanced in that when you had heavier armored players they were slower and usually got around via a horse or teleports, the lighter armored players could run away if they wanted or try to fight and get man handled by the heavier armored foes

Vindictus allows anyone to access armor classes which is nice, but they are irrelevant if you want to play the correct path of the characters

Dungeons and dragons online allows anyone to access any type of armor and play, but then again they have the best setup becuase they damn well invented the RPG's out there.

truth is, i dont really understand why most mmo's develop a system where you can only equip and use specific things, but it could possibly be becuase of the sheer amount of coding that would go into the game and they want to make a specific Rock Paper Scissors approach to it instead of giving everyone a blank slate and say chissle your own path out of it.

Whatever happened to good old days of pay once an get everything free after, it feels like all that was for old gamers like myself and many others before me have lost all hope in the industries...

children today want instant gratificiation and so they have to keep up with their demands and create less than par games and throw as many broken items into the game for them to purcahse to get an edge.... TF2, originally Team fortress was an excellent game, TF2 came about and i was happy for it... then items came into play and MONEY started taking over, it turned to shit in my eyes due to the pay to win concept, yes you can earn the items yourself but that is a time of 100 hours game play to get 1 item thats unique... literally i sat down and played for a week straight on friends server and basically once a week if you played constantly you would get an item.. which is bullshit

companies that want to constantly make money... ok i understand its a rough area since you have to look at the point of the designers (i am entering the field so i know more about it) they want to make the game great and awsome for the players, but the suits want to make the most money in the least amount of time possible so they turn the game that was originally a great concept into something once again that is SUB PAR of the original plan and throw in a Pay to WIN scheme for players out there to make the game bring in more money since players HATE LOSING so they WILL SPEND MONEY just to keep up with regular players..

it happens almost all the time now in all games, so whatever... what hope i had for games is dying, and i have a giant bill coming in at the end of my education to pay off, wonder where thats going to go if i decide to say fuck this industry and go back to stacking boxes onto trucks...

Blizzard has killed my hope in games, just because they are the GO TO model for every RTS, MMO, and Adventure game now a days.... much like HALO/GEARS are the games to follow for FPS's that involve HEALING over time instead of the genuine hard modes of not DYING and running for the medkit in the truck at the end of the world past 6 Barons of hell..

I foresee within the next two years, since thats average time for game development unless your going the extra AAA mile (which most places dont anymore) you will see all the games follow the concept of pay for content..

Steams got the bug for it now since Call of Duty has gone Pay to Play everything now, wish that didnt happen because i miss the old days of PC content being free... the days when Being a gamer meant something instead of being the person with the most money who can purchase the best shit and the extended limited edition body armor that gives you 2 more exclusive maps and weapons that no one can get unless they hack into the game files themselves and edit the registry...

but i should stop ranting.. its going to get me yelled and screamed at by all sorts of fans... i should just stay in my corner and sit there wiating for the industries to Revert back to the old days... alas that wil never happen

I loved ultima online for the reason you had to literally think hard and keep trust to a minimum unless you know your friends very very well... that game was all about trust and politics much like eve today... if you died you lost everything including your ears, head, torso, arms, legs, and possibly your soulstone (i think that was added in later updates?)

I really miss the fun times i had with friends in it... and i missed calling GAURDS! in town when someone was threatening to kill me lol

anyways, if the free shards weren't so unpopulated i would go back to playing it again... but for now its just a memory to me... the subscription servers aren't a bad idea but im not about to go back to paying 15$ give or take for the game again... i cant really since College is sapping my money for living expenses

I would play world of tanks but i have to say i am very pissed that they treated their Alpha/Closed Beta testers like crap, we had so much feedback given to them and what do they do in exchange for it all? They rip our throats out and have us pay real money to set up a squad to play with friends and make us pay more to get what we spent nearly 500 hours to earn in the first place without any compensation...

I got aggiated to see that my Maus i had earned was gone and i had no compensation of Gold or EXP to get it back, i had to start from scratch again and what really got me to stop playing the game was the fact that they wanted nearly 90 USD to even get a starting setup going for players who actually liked the game...

90 USD for A TANK!!! and about 4k in GOLD.... mind you 90 USD would get me a year and a half subby in EVE if i wanted to...

The sanctuaries and shuttle system do not exist in PlanetSide 2 since they slow down the gameplay. You will be able to spawn directly on squad mates based on skills, squad spawning can only happen outside since squad spawning actually drops a capsule from the sky. Additionally you will be able to spawn in Galaxies.

not a good thing to hear in my opinion... Bad company two memories are now coming through of this.... i enjoyed having sanctuary becuase it was a social hub for players and gave them a chance to cool off if they were pissed off in the game (where they could move to the simulator and just shoot stationary targets or practice in a vehicle they never used before)

this may change the feel of planetside for a lot of hardcore fans...

ozmodan, i believe its because Xbox requires you to pay per update for videogame releases and since CCP does massive updates almost each week that would lead to substantial costs

PS3 doesnt charge for updates and online subscriptions like xbox so that may be the appealing deal for releaseing this on ps3

personally i would rather see this on PC over the consoles since EVE is PC!

Oh how right you are about the BFR's and the AS expansion, they really killed it for me but i did have a blast when it first came out with my brothers and friends... god i enjoyed the ground combat, kicked Battlefields ass at the time and was way ahead of any other game out there that supported 16v16 battles or less... then comes 64v64... what did everyone miss... fucking 500v500v500!!!! though most battles were 100v100v100 due to server stress but it used to go higher in its day.

most unbalanced issues in my opinion

Medium armor carrying two heavy weapons in a mosquito (screw the squito and just jump out while its a kamakazi, then  hit the ground running with a dual jackhammer/minigun combination)

cloakers armed with charge fire weapons (this kinda killed it for me, when they released that damn 1 shot kills all non heavy skined infantry it was like kissing your ass goodbye and the sniper then became irrelevant)

rockets through the building fired from a reaver, the biggest GLITCH THERE IS!!! most groups took advantage of it and used it to drastic effect against each other, but the buildings were becoming less and less effective when they updated the game and tried to fix it... basically a reaver would be able to ram into the building and fire all missiles and they would clip through the building and detonate inside at close range against the spawn tubes or anything else vital

i pray they make PS2 better, and not as shitty with their expansion choices.... VanuSoverienty and Terran Republic for the WIN!

I'm not a big fan of this, they put Spyware on my computer at one point with their god damn anti Piracy Installing Disc (SECUROM) when i bought Crysis 1, i refused to buy any games from them except through steam (becuase steam didnt have any of the spyware at the time) and now they are screwing me further by not letting me purchase Crysis 2 on steam?
