No Russian female stereotypes here...

I also forgot to mention, stay current as possible with all of your companion quests. Feed them the gifts and get the easy xp that way

Well, what I did was finally try out all of the bonus series missions. Yes they are side quests, but it was story that I hadn't experienced before. It made leveling alts less tedious since the class story along with bonus series stories were all fresh. Keep in mind, its only about every other planet that you are going to have to pick up some side work to stay ahead of it.

Subscribe, join a 10% bonus qualified guild, unlock 30% bonus from legacy for class and exploration, have the 25% bonus from cartel market, play on a double xp weekend. That is pretty much the only way to stick to just class quests. Doing all of the above and a flashpoint/space mission every other planet or so will net the same result without the double xp weekend. Also, kill everything you can on the way to and from quests.

Its posts like this that get me frustrated with the current gaming community. Iam a F2P player that currently plays SWTOR.  I have spent less than $20 and am able to do everythng in the game just fine. I am a casual, few hours a week player, but i am sble to do everything that sub player can do, i am just limited. If i choose to lift the limitations, i just spend some of my credits and the GTN and buy a couple weekly unlocks if i feel the nee fot a pvp, raid, flashpoint marathon. Over the course of earning credits and using the GTN, i have 8 character slots per server, maxed out inventory space on anyo toon, along with 3 cargo bays per toon. Long story short, between esrning cartel coins from achievements and keeping my eye on the GTN, the limitations for a F2P are minimal. My biggist gripe is the max deployable for crew missions and not being able to queue up more tan 1 item to craft at a time. People complaining about the model are just too damn lazy to want to earn anything in any game even if it is a FREE game.

The problem with the game was apparent fro day 1. Mythic went to big in all the wrong directions. If it were me calling the shots, i would have done the following.

1.) 3 factions. If armies and classes were already mirrored, how hard would of been to add some cosmetics and classes of other races, a dogs of war faction if you will.

2.)  shrink the rvr pools. There is no need for 3 different pools per tier. While we are at it, they should have done away with scenarios. Either pick open rvr or set size battlegrounds, but quit splitting your player base up. Its a niche game, so let it be niche. Which brings me to my next point.

3.) too much focus on pve and public quests. Your an rvr game from a company that has success doing rvr stuff. Wile im not saying hay make daoc 2.0, they would of been better off making daoc with a warhammer skin. I know a lot of people that feel this way about it.

4.) 1 capital city was fine, no need to spread out your social hubs either. The fact that got chopped was a god send to the social aspect of the game.

Such a Strong platform wasted on weak developers, who have shown success in the genre!!!  I for one am so glad we have a new direction of game making that has been presented by the likes of SOE. Its apparent this day and age that developers and publishers are so disconnected from their audience that we keep getting served up crap. I honestly feel like picking a modern MMO to play is like picking a flavor of a turd. At the end of the day its still a turd! So looking forward to developers reaching out to us consumers from here on out.

I'm sorry but the OP has failed in his deductive reasoning as to why the servers may be failing. Let me first explain that I'm not a fan boy that praises the game for no reason, but I'm smart enough to know you can't judge s servers populace just by looking at fleet.

The need to even be on fleet has diminished substantially. With FP/OP finder you no longer have to call out endlessly to find groups. also Makeb has a GTN on fleet and with legacy unlocks you can skip most of the convinence items that are located on fleet like the skill mentor.

In the past 2 months I have been so mobile in swtor that I rarely ever see fleet. And when I do get there, is usually just using an authentication fleet pass to drop off some cargo and hit the free ride to one of the daily mission planets from the hanger kiosks.

So, please OP, consider all the parameters as to why players might not be camping on fleet, maybe they are actually playing and enjoying all the content the game has to offer?

I fail to see what the OP is complaining about, or even aiming at... It is an Everquest game. Like most AAA title MMO's it will have servers. Some RP, some Normal, Some PVP... So let SOE make the damn game and pick the server with the playset that  you feel inclined to play on. Quit trying to convince the users or developers that making the game a specific way will make it successful when they have the option of designing different rule sets to each server. Even the original EQ had this with the Zek servers...

So Bill mentioned wanted every class to be able to do every role. I think this would be very easy to accomplish in a wow/swtor manner as long as the majority of role specific abilities where tied to the trees and locked out when not playing that role. I'll give some examples. I will control / cc as I think every class should have a form of it available But limit it usefulness to different targets, like Swtor

Warrior- basic defender tank, basic dpi build, uses inspire abilities to "heal" the party, like a warlord in d&d 4.0

rouge- normal rogue stuff for dps, uses salves and potions to heal, evasion tank with things like dirty tricks, shadow dance, distraction, and the like to maintain agro.

Elements list wizard- uses every element to nuke like normal, for tanking focuses on defense magics ice shields, make copies of himself to intercept party members, stuff like that. For healing, uses Phoenix magic and frost magic to help heal players or freeze condition effects.

monk, Druid, and clerics can follow the wow format, but with more flavor and distractions when in those class roles.

My point is, if thought about hard enough, every class could fill the trinity roles if enou thought was given to their skill set within each role without breaking class emmersion/ aesthetic feel.

Look, if CU is going to have the same sort of combat mechanics, it is going to need a stick/face option. Plain and simple. Unless they revamp the mechanics to give attekers more time for follow up attacks, a zig zag motion is enough lapsed time to mess up a combat chain, making chains uneffective. in DAOC, the stick was there to be close enough to a target to do follow up attacks, if for whatever reason your attack chain was interupted, you start back from the first move in the chain.

Please, if you have not played DAoC, your no /stick is invalid. When zerg meets zerg and there is an assist train of melee slamming into another jumble of melee, you assist the target, strafe to the deiserd position, and start your chain. If people were zig zagging, spinning, jumping with or without endurence restraints, this would make any combat chain of 3+ moves worthless. Might as well play one of the many other MMO's that already has boring PVP with out combat chains/positionals. Position and Facing were CRITICAl in DAOC, You couldnt guard arrows if getting shot from behind, You could not evade attacks from the side. Keep in mind both those things above would allow you to retaliate with a combat chain.

Face/stick are stamples for the mechanics in DAoC, if you never played you don't know, if you did and you never used them, you were doing it wrong. If CU follows DAoC combat train of thought then face/stick need to be in the game. If it goes action orinated or hotkey spamming like the masses of other games already on the market, then count me out. I can already play a bunch of failed pvp mechanic games.

TLDR: Don't be lazy, read the post.

If you want to get rid of the /stick /face macros and instead have bunny hopping straffing artards in combat, at least keep the 0 Dmg for strafing in the game. DAoC RvR along with all of its mechanics are what made a great PVP experience, then along comes WoW with its Heavy hotkey gameplay where the only situational move is a backstab from rogues, and that was easy to pull off since Rogue had soo many on demand CC's. DAoC was a differnt breed of combat, with style chains and multipul positional abilities, with negated dmg if you were busy moving while spamming abilities... While some feel this was stupid and not twitching, Bunny hopping artards broke the emersion just as much in newer MMO's. I had no idea a person in a fantasy realm could bounce like a bunny while doing 720's in mid air, spamming there instant cast fireballs... just saying.

Maybe I am misinformed and someone can educate me on MMO's. Isn't this the first MMO ever to incorporate a moral desicion option with quests that actually affects the outcome of that specific quest. As well as affecting the outcome of a story arc quest way down the line? While were at it, isn't it also the first MMO to allow all of this great story telling in a GROUP setting where more than 1 player can affect the outcome of the quest through dialog options alone.

If that isn't inovative enough for the MMO space than how about a unique companion system. After reviewing the videos I belive a developer let loose that each class would be reciving 5! unique compaions. 8 classes x 5 companions = 40 unique companions all with there own stories for the players to get involved in. As a player I could also choose their AI behavior much like a single player RPG as well as a full customizable inventory for each companion.

Unique crafting/companion system included. I as a player now have the option to send the same aformentioned companions to do all my dirty work for me. If your a player that loves story than send a companion to gather for you. You like to gather, than send a companion to be your diplomat. They will be able to do other things as well. So by far SWTOR's "WoW Cloned" companions trump the very boring/static WOW huntard pets that get their own spec by numbers talent tree. SWTOR companions are superior for the simple fact that they talk back. The fact that they do all the other stuff is a bonus.

I feel like I have to remind people this so here it goes. Bioware is an acclaimed RPG game developer. You can't excuse their RPG features as lackluster or non inovative because they have done this sort of thing before in a single player setting, you have to applaud them for bringing this kind of element to the MMO space. I can't think of another MMO that is bringing this sort of RPG element to the market. It will absolutly change the industry starndard as to what an MMORPG should be. I belive it will have its own tier till other developers follow into its footsteps. We will have sandbox (That thing little kids play in) themepark ( The place were all the teens hang out to escape their nagging parents and look at cool stufff) and integrated. I picked integrated because it is the best way I can describe how i precive SWTOR will be. Like many single player RPG's, the player can feel attached to their character. The player can make the choices, not be force fed a paragraph of text and decide wether or not to collect chicken feed for 5 silver pieces and a cloak.

I also want to touch on the graphic issue. Its stylized. As far as concept and color pallet SWTOR is far far closer to Star Wars Episode 1, a movie that was released in 1999, than it is to WoW which wasn't released until Nov 2004. The animations are also 10 fold better than WoW. I for one am happy that SWTOR chose this path over trying to release a grainy and bland real world graphic that you might expect from some AAA non MMO titles. Seriously go watch Episode 1 and the watch some SWTOR footage, you will see where I am coming from. Know your cannon. SWTOR looks like star wars the video game, not WOW!

My point is this isnt a WoW clone. Are their elements of WoW in it? Sure, you can't escape that. Like another MMO, SWTOR will share qualities from its influences. But you sure as hell can't say it is going to be just like WoW. Only an idiot with a flavor of the month mindset could think that.  I hope all the WoW gaming nay sayers stay away from SWTOR as well. That community just plain sucks.
