I mean seriously look at the time you spend attacking this game and the people.  Go outside.  Find a game to play.  Do something but good lord look what you are doing with your life.

In DF, 2 brand new characters with noob weapons, some arrows, and good teamwork and skill could kill a fully geared up character with all his skills maxed and crappy player skills regarding how to fight.

In pvp in warhammer, wow, etc that just isnt possible.  Hell the new characters wouldnt even be able to take the guy below 95% if he stood afk all day with other systems.

People bitch about how the game still matters in terms of gear etc, and that its not skill based like promised....yea thats wrong.

They know they are new and have problems, but they are honest and upfront about it.

Would you prefer them not tell us?  Every mmo in the past has had patches that have had to been instantly fixed becuase something unexpected got through.

AV has made a lot of mistakes on the business end of running their game, but they still have one of the most intense and enjoyable pvp MMOs on the market right now, and it is not even close.

As oppose to letting the naked orgy around clanstones continue to raise weapon skill....

And this also allows people to have to go out with at least some kind of minimal risk.

Yes it sucks that some people are ahead of others, but eventually we will all be there, and this is a change that needed to happen.

Definitely much better than allowing it to continue.

So i haven't bothered to come here since release.  I'm sure the same crowd is still coming up with reasons why the game sucks, and some are probably still coming up with reasons why this game is vaporware =)

Don't get me wrong, Aventurine has the business know-how of a newborn retarded child, but I am not investing in stock here, I am playing a video game for entertainment at the end of the day.

With this recent patch, just like in beta, the Devs have showed they are really listening and know what they are doing in terms of gameplay...probably moreso than any development team I have seen in terms of listening to their players.

This patch is such a godsend and will make the game incredibly better....and basically just shook the groundwork of what pvp was like for the better.

So for those of you lucky enough to actually be playing a MMO that you enjoy, and not being a bitter forum troll bashing everything....I will....

It is the spell that everyone learns as a new player, and uses no reagant.

It is still very early in the game, and very few people have unlocked the higher end spells.  The elemental magic, which I and a few friends have unlocked the early stages of, are much more efficient.

There is.  Different items weigh different ammounts.  The other day I was killing ogres that drop stone, which weighs a lot.  I had never reached the limit before, and really didnt have much on me, but all of a sudden i could barely move.  My sprint was 1/2 as slow as my normal run speed =)

Unattended macro'ing I frown upon.

But when im gathering, I macro.  Only the insane find pleasure in clicking the mouse to chop a tree every 10 seconds.  I am at my computer, probably talking on vent or typing to the clan/alliance, and paying attention to the game, just not dealing with the harvesting.  If someone attacks me, im ready to go, there is nothing wrong with this.

As dorky as it sounds...you do get excited in these kind of pvp games at times when there are consequences with failure.  My first EVE kill when i learned how to scan a system for a player and was able to kill someone was heartpounding.

I know what you're saying, and yeah games have had my heartpounding, especially back in the day on EQ when Tallon Zek server had 1loot item loss.

But heavy breathing?   The image just makes me laugh

lol i know you are being sarcastic but this is one of the things that makes me shake my head at people....to think that someone is more trustworthy or has more of a right to speak because they happened to find a game or forum later than someone else.

we are talking about online video games people...sure some people are mature and carry themselves well but you have a lot of young kids + the safety of being behind a computer screen which leads to nasty forums.

Anyways I made a similar thread like this where i shared 2 experiences and multiple people called me a paid employee, so hardly trolling, just stating what happened to me.

That part about people getting scared is very true. I know many WAR/WoW players and they really "show thier teeth" when i talk about sandbox gameplay. They get in a real defensive mode.

And they close thier eyes and ears and wont listen to anything that could rock thier perfect world.
