Yeah, one step above EA. Actually I believe that AV is about to buy EA soon.
Anyway, 2008 has 4 more months, 3 if we disregard August, since the guys in Aventurine are on vacations. You think they will make it this year? For the last three months, we have seen absolutely no action from Aventurine, apart from some more of the same promises that have been going on for 5 years now. Look at WAR for example, you can tell that they are on a launch fever.
Ow, I forgot. Aventurine is doing it "their" way and are about to change the gaming industry for ever.
WAR will be going broke if they don't release soon and are cutting content for fun, AV sure are doing it their own way, no doubt they are developing and doing so on a tight budget. They aren't pandering and it's all hands to the pumps as they have stated, the signs are good and they are busy. Showing ignorance with respect to their partners who are listed companies gains you nothing builds no credibility and make you a laughing stock. AV are dlivering like games would have been in the past, it is fanboi/hater speculation that is generating a large ammount of misdirection from a very small number of people. |

And does prove a number of things , with respect to hardcore PvP and the nature of some of the guys now owning and developing DF. In a lot of ways the fact someone thinks DT was full of degenerates is fine but you have to remember that a lot of people did not have a lot of choice PvP wise. This also proves the relationships between Tasos and Yellowbeard and even moreso the reson he was allowed to visit interesting. |

Shame you mentioned SWG, an immediate turn off. Associating with SWG drop outs is like permenent pshycological grilling over and over about the good old days. Too much of a chore ... Shame you guys can't let go could have been a fun guild not. |

So they are two different companies. When in another thread the people following this game published this new info, I asked if they were the same company or part of a holding or somethign because I thought they were different companies. The answers were Ikona Hxos mean Audiovisual in greek... I wasnt sure of that but they repeat it like a holy text. So, I didnt keep asking. It's good that someone actually research it. Thanks for the info. I was curious about that.
I sometimes think that these guys are being stalked when all they are doing is developing a MMO... Scary |

I was just thinking with the debacle of AOC and other recent MMOs , would it not be better to delay the release and add the promised content. This is an MMO suposedly an endless world offering longevity / community and fun, so why are they cutting content. This just appears to be another money spinner with no heart .... am i wrong ? |

No need to flame you at all but some of your comparissons are very poor and i'll informed. Most people have played the above games and guess what they held their attention for very little time so thats why we want something else. Difficult to reply in a constructive way as your post has a lot of elements that border on trolling in this forumn and trying to get a reaction, no need for you to be here. Sadly I agree with you though just realised i'm in the wrong forumn - come over have a look at fallen earth. |

Uhm well as per your assumptions: 1) not relevant if they aren't getting the option. 2) bad one here if the game will make money they will take the game for the sole reason that if it is going to take market share regardless. And the joint revenue may be greater than the one anyway. 3) Irrelevant 4) This is what they have done , I don't see the risk of going with an established distributor wierd. It is interesting sometimes what companies capabilities are it isn't always obvious to the naked eye. I think most people coming here want the game to release. it will only be a matter of time |

Originally posted by Jasz No Darkfall will not be too good to be true, it will be just the same as EvE was. Developed by a small dedicated number of very skilled individuals. Amazing what you can do with efficient coding, something most games don't get close to acheiving these days. Darkfall is just re-addressing the poor state MMOs have gotten themselves into. No longer games of note just empty boring worlds with no community , lacking purpose and full of features that reduce gameplay options. If it isn't DarkFall it could be one of a number of MMO releases to come that will get the genre on the right track. These guys have money their own and are investing it in their dreams. The old days are not gone they just don't live here anymore... so so sad.
