Why isn't there more people playing this game???
The Tavern (General) « Everquest II 7/08/09 12:27:17 PM
I believe Sony's plan was to capitalize on the popularity of EQ and to let its fanbase be the advertising for EQ II. Apparently they were wrong. |

I did. Unless there's been an update I missed, there were only two servers that you could even use the funds on. |

Another thing about the Station Store is that only characters on certain Station Store servers can even buy and use the items within the store. It never affected me. I just play on the servers that aren't like that. |

As for the WoW soloing. Yes, you can solo to 80. But once you get there, it gets boring fast unless you are a hardcore raider.
The item shop argument is sound. After all, you do pay to play a game, not pay to see other people pay more and get more. However, people buy accounts for MMOs all the time, so isn't it true that ALL MMOs have item shops, ethical or not? |

But is that because of SWG that you won't even try Everquest II? I've seen a lot of anti-Sony bias due to their OTHER games, and somehow that hate spreads into this game. Why? Sony is a multi-billion dollar corporation. Do you really think that hating all their games will somehow hurt them? Have you even TRIED Everquest II? |

What do you think of the Shadow Odyssey?
The Tavern (General) « Everquest II 6/26/09 12:07:26 PM
I have to confess that I am at best, a casual EQ II player. I lack the time necessary to become a hardcore raider at ANY MMO, much less EQ. I think I can safely avoid this expansion, at least until I either get a divorce(not bloody likely), or somehow throw the family out the door for a month. Which isn't too likely either.

Yes, but I own all the other expansions already. To rebuy would be a waste, I would think.

I can't get the Shadow Odyssey at the moment due to fundage. But I'm considering it as soon as possible.
Is it worth the price? Should I wait and see if Sony will make it free? And if you haven't picked it up, why haven't you?
Thanks for your input! |

Thank you for your suggestion!
Interesting review, too. |

/emote points to his title beneath his forum name.
Would this handle your remarks?
I've started on my first title, and I do like the suggestion. It appears I'll be writing about each game separately, then. |

Kind of. This actually will be more of a "which one will give you the most bang for the least amount" type of thing, as well.
This may expand beyond RPGs too. |

You realize that isn't helping.

Howdy, folks!
After a little sabbatical, I've decided to get to work on an article detailing MMORPGs for the new economy - free ones.
What I need is some research. How does a gamer do his research?
By playing the games, of course!
So, what I need from you is to PM or E-Mail me with your favorite free-to-play games, along with why you think your game should make it into the article. I'll download your game, play it to level 20, and based upon my experience, you might just see your name in it! I'm looking forward to your submissions!
Thanks! |

If you want to play WoW, play WoW.
If you want to play Everquest 2, play Everquest 2. |

I like the idea. I'll see if I can make that work with the format given to us. |

I do intend on looking up some further information, but it's pretty sparse out there. |

I never copy and pasted anything. That's called plagiarism, and I am completely against it. Yes, I did reference a guide, which I cited in the article itself. All my information came from this guide. And, before you say anything, it was from EQ2traders.
I will be releasing a second part to this article, to which I will add in all your suggestions and correct any legitimate errata. |

I, too, migrated from WoW because I was looking for something new. I found it here in EQ2.
I don't have any experience with EQ, so I really can't answer your questions, but I can say that so far, I've enjoyed my experience in the new Norrath. |

All I did was ask two questions. There wasn't anything rude to it.
You don't know everything in the new expansion, seeing as it hasn't been released yet.
And I have one person in my mind that agrees with me. |
