Aion is awesome. I could care less what people have to say about it. And it totally blows away World of Suckcraft. I swear WoW is made for 12 year olds.

I was thinking about coming back, too. Just for i16. I need a break from Eve Online, anyway...

Hrmm, I'm an Eve Online player so I'm looking for something new and fresh that has to do with outerspace. I'm torn between STO and Jumpgate: Evolution...

This game is Hellgate: London all over again. City building games are single-player games and they always have been. The appeal is to lock yourself in a room and tinker over your empire for months on end. Nobody who likes city builders has *ever* wanted a multiplayer aspect to the genre.

What MC has done, though, is sheer greed. For the moment there is no mass transit in the game...no buses, no rail, nothing but car traffic. There will be mass transit in the game but only for those people willing to pay monthly for the privilege. The whole idea is just insulting.

I just hope when the game tanks the guys at MC realize why it was a failure and don't blame it on piracy or some other crap.

lol I was just about to post a reply saying "This is like Hellgate: London" but you beat me to it!

Both WaR and AoC easely beats Aion imo. We are talking rpg games vs a grind game. War have more depth, you actually feel you build a character and improving by choises with gear and settings and AoC should have been on the list, for no other reason ( and imo there is) then for its combat system. Its the only game where every pull are semi intense and actually feels like a fight. Its what new game needs, inovative combat with player participation, not 2-3 buttons rotations which dosnt vary from mob to mob or from player to player. Hack n slash belongs to last milinium; Diablo does it better then some of the games made today,  decades later.

You're not making any sense. You talk about grinding being a bad thing but yet you enjoy Diablo. If you ask me, grinding is only bad when it's not enjoyable and Aion is an enjoyable grinding MMO. Plus, I doubt you seen all the content in Aion.  It seems to be mainly about PVP. I had a lot of fun in the beta. A LOT more fun than I ever had in WoW! And if you really wanted to, you can RP in Aion...

DDO was a strange one. Turbine themselves gave up on the "original" game so it would be a bit much to include that. The new game is pretty new and while I realize so are FE and Aion, perhaps it is a personal blind spot, but I have less of a read on how the new DDO is doing.

Ya. It's one of those MMO's where you start playing it and have fun but then you realise that there's not enough content so then you either gotta pay money to get it or read the forums on how to get most of it the hard way (in free 2 play) but takes a long time to get. Either way, it's worth a try. Even for just a month or two. If you're one of those guys like me who are getting burnt out on MMO's, DDO is something to hold you over for a little while. While I know this has nothing to do with the topic, the only MMO's I ever got addicted to (in order) was Ultima Online, Planetside, City of Heroes, Guild Wars and Eve Online. For some reason, I just couldn't get into WoW. I think it's because of the graphics? Plus when I tried to get into it, the community was really bad. No help whatsoever and the only thing people seemed to want to do was brag about themselves. It was quite weird... And I played the beta for Aion and had a ton of fun. I can easily see myself playing it in the future. But not right now because of financial problems. I need to concentrate on making money in real life plus going back to school. I did noticed a couple other Korean MMO's that looked interesting but I'm not sure if they will be released in the US. One is Continent of the 9th and the other is Blade and Soul. If they are ever released in the US, I may just forget about Aion lol...

The only MMO that I can think of that should be on the list is Dungeon and Dragons Online. It seems to have become popular since it's now free to play.

The potential is there.

Nothing ground breaking just a solid mmo that might be able to pull off a game with pve & pvp that does not suk.  Time will tell.

NA peeps can play OB, just reg at FP (not paying customer):  www.fileplanet.com/promotions/aion/beta/

None.  Games should not have a healing class as they are an unnecessary class, and detremental to grouping online as a whole.

That would be like saying "The world should not have doctors and nurses. We should just kill all the sick people."

Just because you don't enjoy the role of healing people, doesn't mean it should not be in MMORPG's...

Ya, that's right. There is a big letter 'R' in MMORPG that means "Role" playing. Something you totally forgot about and no longer care about...

*** e-go alert ***

Empathy healer in city of heroes. And let me explain why it's so addicting...

When you choose a class, you get a primary and a secondary power set. To be a healer in CoH, you can be one of two classes. A Defender or a Controller. And here are the differences in a nutshell...

As a Defender, you can choose your  primary power to be a healer. Your secondary is damage dealing. There are many ways to deal damage. Fire, ice, dark, energy, psychic, assault weapons, etc etc. But since your primary is a healer, you'll be able to heal a lot more.

As a controller, your secondary can be a healer and you won't be able to heal as strongly as a defender but that doesn't matter because your primary is something awesome. Like for example, you can create a controller that uses the primary powers of Illusion. You can summon illusions that will take most of the damage from a mob of monsters while your teammates dish out damage and you can then heal your teammates. You can't heal the illusions because that's just how it is lol. But it's so awesome and without going into much detail, you just just gotta try it out for yourself. It's well worth it! Trust me! The game blows away WoW on so many levels. It's a very high action type of game that will get your adrenaline going! And the graphics are high quality if you got a nice rig.

I'm not trying to tell you how to raise your kids but if you notice they are starting to get highly addicted to an MMO and getting worse grades in school, you should put your foot down and make them stop and try to encourage them to just be good in school so they have a brighter future. You gotta teach them that a hobby is a hobby and should never become an addiction to the point of where it starts ruining your life. I know 2 people who played WoW constantly and commited suicide. All they wanted to do was play WoW. They didn't wanna go out looking for jobs. It's quite sad. After seeing those 2 guys do that, I started to realise that this is a serious problem and that a lot of people are probably going through the same thing. Always show your kids love and they will thank you for it later in life.

Have you heard of Runes of Magic? It's like a cross between WoW, LoTRO and Guildwars and free. Last time I played it, I didn't see any cursing in the chat and lots of helpful people. Maybe you should try it out for a few days to see how it is then decide if your kids should play it? Goodluck!

the only people who take risks in Eve is people who are in player owned corps that make a lot of money and travel in groups. what's funny is seeing gate campers run away as soon as they know a group like that is coming to kill them...

they remind me of crack dealers who station people down on each side of a road to call them and let them know when cops are coming lolz

and the only reason I know anything about that is because I used to paint the outside of low income houses and watched these low lifes deal crack... I swear, if cops were smart, they would do what I was doing. just paint houses. they would bust so many people!

I can't believe noone mentioned Planetside being the most fun. It IS an MMO right? Just another one Sony ruined. I was totally addicted to it for a few years until the Big Friggin Robots and caves. The thing that gets me is how much better it was compared to Halo 1 or 2....  thousand times better!

most boring: knight online

most fun: city of heroes - issue 4. back when there wasn't a ton of people playing and you could do all kinds of wild stuff! my friends and I was having a blast with that game. it truly was a dream come true.

2nd most fun was Ultima Online back when it was 2 dimensional (around the year 1999-2000).  I'll never forget how my adrenaline felt playing UO. there were times I felt like I was gonna have a stroke and I was only about 25 years old! when a game gets you that excited, you KNOW it's damn good!

RoM is great. For a game that is in beta and F2P, it's a lot more fun than WoW and better graphics. Not cartoony like WoW. If the devs do things right, it will end up being the best F2P game. I can't stand playing WoW and I can't stop playing RoM... Some of the quests have humor in them, too.

yes, it's worth playing. just keep in mind that it's in beta and buggy...

Oh, and one more thing... I have seen PSU's tested on these kind of testers and they showed that the PSU was fine but as soon as the PSU was put under a load (into a PC with actual devices running), the PSU would fail. So even if you use a cheap tester, it won't mean the PSU is OK. This is why I was saying that you would need an expensive PSU tester that costs about $200. It will actually put a load on the PSU to see what the problem is lol. Good luck!

I take back what I said about not finding a cheap PSU tester. this one is pretty cheap. makes me wanna buy it lol http://www.frozencpu.com/psu-165.html?id=s7uYuWwT#blank

it could be the power supply. it could be anything. drivers cause issues. BIOS settings cause issues. jumpers on the MOBO cause issues. incompatible memory cause issues. if I were you, unplug  everything that uses power from the PSU like fans and drives you don't need to have running. open the case so it stays cool then try to boot it up and play a game. if your vid card has a fan, make sure the heatsink is not full of dust. that will cause the card to lock up. make sure the heatsink for the CPU is not full of dust. if your PSU has more than one 12v rail, try plugging one rail into the card (if the card needs one) then plug the other rail into the drives. , try downloading the latest BIOS for your mobo. that might make it more compatible with the vid card. if you have a restore CD, try that and make sure you install the correct chipset drivers for the mobo. then update all the drivers for all the devices. this sounds like a lot of work and it is but it can help you find out what the problem is. if you got a bad PSU, it will be hard to find out without spending a lot of money on a PSU tester. and I don't mean one of those cheap ones. the real ones cost a lot. it's what manufacturers use!
