HL2 is a FPS that took 6 years to develop with a much bigger team than adv.  DF is a MMO that got revamped 2 years after the start.

Its absolutely idiotic to think that a game like DF is never comming out.  They have nothing to prove it except how long its been in production.  I honestly think you need help if you think a game is never comming out with a high production value website, screenshots, videos, 30 or so recent dev journals, all the lore and work they put into it, people visiting the studio and writing about their visit  ect.

Right now DF is the only game that holds true to the "M M O R P G" title.  It ressurects old UO style gameplay and when it comes out it will blow all other MMO's out of the water. 

If a game is amazing, you dont need hype and advertisement , it will sell itself.  Apparently the people at funcom thought hype makes a game funner

As long as taso is being fairly honest the game will do fine. and be a great mmorpg.

Muffins relax please. Aventurine never annunced the thing about audio visual. I believe taso said thats for another time or something like that. But we do know If everything goes according to plan they will be distributing darkfall in Eu at least.

Listen - with all due respect - I strongly disagree. Why is Mortal Online not on the list yet? Probably because you don't see it is fit yet, right? Because it could be a new Darkfall?

Specifically I feel Darkfall is hurting others. Let me give you two examples:

1. Darkfall is all about useless flames, empty threads. A lot of newcomers to the genre stop by here eventually and get sucked in by Darkfall. Veterans have to sit and write the truth over and over again to let people know.

2. Concerning Age of Conan (a game I am very critical off myself) I feel it is actually unfair to Age of Conan, a real game under development (despite all their own problems and all) that Darkfall use their presence on sites like this one to spread their propaganda. DF gave some really low blows to AoC a couple of months before release. Why should mmorpg.com let DF use their gaming site for a fictive game, that is never going to be released? So I can do a little 3d and photoshopping and make a nice website and get my game added too?

Can you - hand on heart - say you ever believe this game will be released? And if not why does it belong here?

You should rather add a rumour forum for the Bioware game and add DC to the frontpage list. Maybe the Agency and others. How come Darkfall belong on the frontpage but those don't is beyond me.

This is the exact reason is why I believe Darkfall should also be removed from this website.  A person cannot even have doubt that this game exists without being bashed with rocks and attacked here like the game in question is some religion being blindly followed. You'd think Tasos or whoever is a God or something the way the fans here believe his every word and gasp and moan with desire at his every shallow promise.

Maybe Darkfall is becoming a sort of "cult". The followers seem to have a sinister reaction to anyone having doubts about this "too good to be true" game. Why the website wants to continue to support this "cult" and allowing this crap to continue is beyond me.  Yet Biowares new mmo has no forums here. That makes lots of sense. I guess somehow that Adventurine somehow has a better track record in the gaming business then Bioware in the admins of this websites eye.

I support the action of throwing this Darkfall cult forums in the garbage (especially if there is no game play videos released next month and no release date by end of this year)

It isnt that we attack them. Its because they hijack everythread about darkfall repeating the same things over and over. then end up getting banned and making alt accounts. This is why they get attacked Its thier fault not ours.

Nope, not vaporware. They have a European publisher/distributer. And old and well respected company that announced to its stock holders that it would be distributing the game, as law states they must. (gotta keep the investors in on whats going on)

I have read NOTHING on the entire Internet announcing a publisher deal for Darkfall. Come on here. ALL gaming sites I visit have an UP-TO-DATE news section. I read about ALL kinds of things happening in the industry, even law suits and NEW game ideas.

But...

NOWHERE have I read a word about an OFFICIAL publisher for the game of Darkfall.

A reasonable person would ASSUME, that a VALID publishing deal would be at least announced and make the news sections of the various gaming sites, if nothing else.

A reasonable person would ALSO assume that an OFFICIAL publisher, of a game that's to be RELEASED in 5 months, would want some publicity. After all, publishers make a percentage of the sales profits. makes sense huh?

So.. tell me this.

The devs of Dark and Light said the same thing. They said there would be an open beta, so you could try it before you bought it. Then just before release, they said you had to preorder to get into the beta.
