If AION call your attention, just try it, its the only way to you know if its "your" game or not.

If someone convince you NOT to play the game, you might never know how this game can be great for you.

If someone convince you TO play the game, you might end curse him cause u waste your money.

Im loving this game so far, having fun every single night i play it, but thats me, you need to check for yourself    :)

In wich server you play?

You have other post around where is seams you dont play on a OFFICIAL one, is that true?

If it is, why the hell you are here asking for help???

Your question is about solo PvP? If it is, wrong game, but you can allways have some fun with a ranger, if you know how to handle  it :)

For a game thats all about PvP, ...

Who say that?

- Rifts show in map.

- Rifts to lvls 10 -20 too.

- More PvE instances and they should start at lvl 10.

- Higly increase the bonus/buffs to the FACTION that takes and own a fortress.

- Higly increase the debuffs for the FACTION that lose a fortress, yes im writing FACTION, not legion.

- More Guards / Towers to the faction that owns some fortress in related zone with more quests, etc.

- Fortress siege should open to attack ALL time.

- some new fortress with limit lvls, maybe 25-31, 32-39.

But never ever instance pvp with limit numbers of players, not that plz.

But ofc, its only my opinion  :)

Well, you state in other post that "asmo's sucks" in your server.... what you expect

Now, whithout joke, they need to increase the reward for defending, dont know what comes in next little patch will be enouph, but lets see it.

Aion Pvp and pve
General Discussion « Aion

I like a game with both features, and AION is one of those, and i love those features together.

I dont know what will come in the next big patch, but the last one come with 12 new instances, so maybe it means they dont forget PvE content, i bealive they will still increase the PvE content, as so PvP, but only time will tell.

Atm, a player that comes to AION only for PvP or only for PvE, it might not be very happy with the game.

To OP: If you really like the game, try to have fun in the PvE content and dont stress with ganking actions. Try to make a nice group of ppl that have the same objectives on game, and you might still have fun with only PvE actions, OR, stop playing for now and keep a eye with future patch's, OR just change to a only PvE mmo.   ;)

Just my thoughts  :)

I really cant see how this video show that "asmo's suck" like u state on the title.

1 - 15 elyos come to asmo territory for pvp, means that they organize the alliance with class's balance and they are coordinate on 1 single group.

2 - An previous organized group of 15, is a really pain in the *** even for, lets say, 40 random ppl.

3 - most of the asmo's they probabily not even be on group, they just run to that location after read on chat "elyos raid at X location"

4 - Even considering asmo's were not organized in group, see wich class were the 2 1st elyos killed  (cleric's).

In the end, i thing both were good at, Elyos made a nice organized group of 15 ppl, and asmo's (after they know the location of elyos) just run to there to defeat them.

Great video, btw, just dont agree with ur statment "asmo's suck" acording to this video   :)

You can allways help by report them.

At least after that, NCSoft dont have excuse to do nothing about it.

Didnt check if this info allready around, anyway i just want to share it:

The incoming new patch notes (aionsource.com)

I thing they are in test stage in Korea, just hope they come fast to us  :)

I allways chose to try a game based on official info and some youtube videos.

I never ever chose a game based on personal opinions write on a forum. I like to build my own opinion, and to do that i need to try it (if the game call my attention based on official info and some gameplay movies).

And when i dont like the game i just forget is existence...  ;)

So the op advice makes sense, i come to mmorpg.com to know news about mmorpg's games and check forums of the game im playing or waiting to play to see some new info, some new videos, links, etc. Reviews made by players? nahhh, most of them sux and is full of lies (no matter if it is made by a hater or a fanboy)  :)

Now let's talk about players that enjoy PvP, the problem I see with this game right now is grind just doesn't work for this crowd.

AION is not ONLY PvP, they called PvPvE.

PvPvE term comes from the 3rd faction that is environmental.   It has nothing to do with " PvE ", which is generally used to mean anything not PvP related.

Aion simply forces PvPers to PvE, and PvEers to PvP.....this is not a well thought out scheme to satisfy players. If you want to make a PvP game you're focus needs to stay away from grind as much as possible, and this game doesn't allow you to do it, it forces you not just to PvE but grind...and I don't see any bigger turn off for a PvPer than this!

Yes, again AION is PvPvE, so yes, PvE and PvP are togather on this game.

You want changes on AION or a complete new game?

Again you are not using the term PvPvE correctly.  It doesn't have anything to do with PvE, but the 3rd faction that is supposed to be controlled by AI.

AION was build around a idea:  PvPvE, PvE in a PvP world, PvP in a PvE world

If you only ask more quests, ok, why not, having more quest to do dont arm the game base idea. But you are asking to change almost everthing   :)

OP wasn't asking to change the game completely, but to get rid of the grind since this is a PvP game.  I some what agree, but I still think a little grind would be ok.   If a casual PvPer can't hit max level within his/her first month ( ~60 hours play time ), then I don't think the game will make it in the western market, or the game must be designed more closely towards FPS mechanics.

I know they use the PvPvE term because of Balaur, but i thing it can define the game.

You cant only PvP in AION, you will need to PvE and after lvl 20, most of territorys will have some PvP too because of the rifts.

And even you go to Abyss, theres a lot of PvE too (quests and raids to be done), even Abyss points can come from Balaur's (and they are mobs, so its PvE).

I dont agree when ppl say its a PvP focus game, what im trying to explain that AION is a mix of PvP and PvE and is all together, its not easy for a player who ONLY likes PvP or PvE.

Thats why  i use the term PvPvE to define game.

I just thing ppl missunderstanding AION when say it its a PvP game, no it not, its a mmorpg with PvE and PvP and both features are together.

Just my opinion ofc.

Now maybe this formula is working well in the Asian market considering how much those gamers love to grind....but I'm sorry it's just not going to work here and here's my explanation.

(Oh and I'm not an absolutist so I believe in reasonable arguments that could change my outlook...0o)

If you haven't noticed, Aion is a game without a PvE server so and so called "normal" server, so whether you hate PvP or not you will have to deal with it one shape or form to get anywhere in this game. Right there you're already cutting out a big chunk of gamers here on the west.

If a player hates PvP is not a good idea to come to AION.

Now let's talk about players that enjoy PvP, the problem I see with this game right now is grind just doesn't work for this crowd.

AION is not ONLY PvP, they called PvPvE.

Up until level 20 this game is actually enjoyable, but once that level comes and goes that's when the XP bar just about doubles in size and the quests begin to give just as much as a single mob encounter.

Im 24 and keep leveling just like i have been until now.

If you want to make a game that caters to PvP don't force them to grind much, this is a lesson that was well learned in WAR that is once again showing up here in the different way.

In WAR players found PvE the best means of leveling and gearing up for RvR, and since the RvR system in itself was flawed and badly thought out the game failed to impress PvPers.

Dont know about WAR, AION is a game with PvE and PvP, you need to like both to enjoy the game.

In Aion players have to PvE if they want to compete with other players, there is no choice like what you'd see in WAR, and the grind is so enduring that the game is turning into a gankfest where players try to grind while in fear of being attacked by other players at all times.

WAR here again.... WAR is WAR, AION is AION... just pick the one u like more. They are diferent, why you insist to compare them?

Aion simply forces PvPers to PvE, and PvEers to PvP.....this is not a well thought out scheme to satisfy players. If you want to make a PvP game you're focus needs to stay away from grind as much as possible, and this game doesn't allow you to do it, it forces you not just to PvE but grind...and I don't see any bigger turn off for a PvPer than this!

Yes, again AION is PvPvE, so yes, PvE and PvP are togather on this game.

You want changes on AION or a complete new game?

Either cut the grind or alow players to gain xp from other players...either than this I don't see this game doing so well...0o

AION was build around a idea:  PvPvE, PvE in a PvP world, PvP in a PvE world

If you only ask more quests, ok, why not, having more quest to do dont arm the game base idea. But you are asking to change almost everthing   :)

Clicking on things...

This is really starting to get more frustrating as I play. Clicking on corpses, nodes, monsters, other players, etc. More than half the time, when you click on something, it does not actually do what ever it is your asking it to do on the first click. This causes multiple attempts at clicking on something which could in turn cause you to actually attack a mob that you were only trying to click on to see what it is. Or, when harvesting, multiple clicks just to actually get it to start harvesting. And dont get me started on trying to loot mobs. It can be very frustrating and require multiple clicks to get it to actually open a window. It doesn't matter if your right clicking or left clicking, it does the same crap. This is not lag causing the problem, this is something about the interface and many others in my guild have noticed the exact same issues. heck, this even goes towards you clicking on your spells on the tool bars. Sometimes this even requires multiple clicks for it to actually work. Very very frustrating in my opinion.

This only hapeneds to me when i had played on China, but i had around 900ms... so yes, it was lag.

But not here, in EU, never hapened, 1 click and the action started,  mouse click or buttom click (even if i have 250ms)

So, i dont bealive its game problem.

I only chose mmorpg's with PvE and PvP.

I dought i will ever pick a mmorpg with only PvP or PvE.

If players come to AION only for PvP, will get frustation pretty fast, because you CANT avoid PvE in AION (in matter of leveling ofc)

If players come to AION only for PvE, well, they can TRY avoid PvP, but is not going to be easy.

If someone chose AION to play, its better to like PvE and PvP  (PvEvP).

Just my opinion, ofc.

I thing is a nice review, you organise well your opinions.

I just like to say that about "chat abuse", maybe is to early to build a opinion about it.

Maybe a lot of ppl playing atm will not stay next month, so maybe things changed after that, or not.

Im not saying AION community will get better or worse, just saying that it might be early to build a opinion.

Gameplay:

No Target Select System

Large Battle

Boss Fight

Seams fun, without target selected  :)

Hey all,

I'm thinking about picking up this game for some, what sounds to be, fun pvp.  However, it seems you gotta wait till level 25 to participate in the good stuff.  I don't have a lot of time to play these days, so I'm trying to estimate how long it may take me to reach it?

Also, what are the que times like?  I won't be playing till 8ish pm eastern standard, so.....

Thanks in advance....

P.S.  Also thanks for the answers so far.

AION is not only a pvp game, its pve too.

For those who only like pvp, are allready crying around because cant pvp since lvl 1, but AION have both features, so u better like both to enjoy the game.

U say the good stuff start at lvl 25?

If u dont enjoy a mmo since lvl 1, u get bored pretty fast. 1-20 is 100% pve (quests, farm, group for elites, whatever u want to do).

20-25 the only pvp u can get is based on rifts.

25+ u can get to Abyss (remember that lvl 25 in Abyss is the lower lvl to walk in there).

A lot of ppl say AION is mainly a PvP game. Well, u CANT avoid PvE here, and u can try avoid PvP (there are territorys that dont have rifts and instances after 28, i bealive).

So, if u are a casual player like me, and if u enjoy any lvl of the game like i do, the game is for you (i dont care how long i take to lvl 50, as long im having fun).

If you come to this game waiting only for lvl 25 and start "the good stuff" like u said, save your money  :)

Its just my opinion, hope it as helped  :)

Edit: forgot about queue times. If u start now, there are new servers with low population, so no queue times for you (at least for now)

I thought that was changed after 1.0, but it seams not.

I dont play ranger, so i will speak about 1.0, dont know the changes in 1.5.

All that is related to the ranger class. It seams the gap between the min and mx damage of a skill produce that kind of results.

Ranger is, or was, the class with most diference in skills damage (min and max), so, when u land a critical and the critical is a multiplier of the normal damage, u can see huge diferences.

I repeat, this information is based on 1.0, it can be outdate.
