Looks like there is going to be a plethura of achievements.
Do we get to wear those titles like the titles in the past? Like the old pvp army rank titles? Sergent, Private, Grand-Marshall etc. |

Will the fate of TCoS be the same as Age of Conan?

Gonna give Wurm a try tonight. Social system sounds pretty awesome. Sounds like a lot of the things i've wanted in an MMORPG, but last time i checked Wurmonline, i don't think it was live yet. Its letting me connect now. |

As far as full loot systems go, I thought Mythics Entertainments DFC was the best ruleset i had played with full loot. First, you could not kill your own realm mates. Second, any items in your bank were safe, only stuff you carried was in danger. Third, after you were killed, enemies and allies could loot you, and there was no auto loot function. Reinforced realm pride as your friends could help save your stuff. Fourth, It was not that easy to attack another realm. You couldn't just hop over to another realm and start stealing peoples gear. Once you were on enemy lands, you would have to wait for the next boat before you could leave. So if you were spotted, you were being hunted by the whole realm usually. Plus, people would spend hours chatting with the guild watching the docks, waiting for boats of invaders to arrive. There was no epic gear. Certain creatures droped certain gear. If you lost everything, you could build yourself back up to a decent set of gear in a couple days. But usually you didn't have to worry because the attackers took all the risk coming to your realm with no quick escape. Invaders would not come to an enemies realm in their best gear, they would come in the best gear that was easiest to replace. So, there were boundaries. There were hard set allies you could trust and build loyalties with. There was a high price to invade another realm, and the invaders took all the risk. Defenders had places to secure their best gear (banks). This system worked great. Other games i've played with full loot were FFA PvP. Those places were horribly cutthroat. Logging in was painful. A good night was inching closer to a skill level that could compete with the PKs that would wipe you out nightly. FFA PvP with full loot is horrible usually. People have very little self control, or self imposed boundaries for the betterment of the game. Full Loot works, with the right ruleset and loot tables. |

North Americans are so good at whining. Plenty of buzz about TCoS in Europe. |

Honestly, there is no reason not to try it. Since it will have a Free to Play area to test it. Won't have to put in credit card info or anything, just download and play likes its free.
Also, I agree Coffee. Its the one title I didn't want to see released so close to Lich King, but its also the one title i think has the least to fear from Lich King. Its not another clone of the EQ style gameplay.

Anyone with a basic level of intelligence knows about the ignore command. Someone who does not know how to use /ignore, or doesn't know how to adjust their chat channels to support a fun gaming environment for themselves, is someone I would not want in my groups or guild. People like this beg for things without ever taking the initiative to solve the problem themselves. They are the worst form of MMO gamer, the moocher, the whiner. Often we see our attitudes reflected by those around us. Maybe its not the people in these games, but you who have the issues? |

One of the most eagerly awaited online role-playing games is approaching the final stretch in its development. The German, English and French versions of The Chronicles of Spellborn are scheduled for release on November 27th, 2008 in Europe. In preparation of the release, the innovative fantasy MMORPG has started into the next phase of the closed beta tests along with a large content patch Wednesday, 17th of September.. The update brings along substantial advancements in the class system, the quest architecture, the fame system and the combat gameplay as well as improvements on art and general game mechanics lifting the game onto a new level of gameplay experience. During the upcoming weeks, developer Spellborn NV and publisher Frogster will invite more selected registered community members into the closed beta tests. A detailed beta and release schedule for The Chronicles of Spellborn will be announced shortly. Interested fantasy adventurers can register via the brand new beta registration on www.tcos.com to get the chance to have a look at the game before the actual release. source - tcos.com/news/ Chronicles of Spellborn doing what other developers rushed their products to avoid(AoC, War). May not be releasing on the same day, but its within two weeks of the expansion is extremely close. Developer(s) Blizzard Entertainment Only question in my mind now is, do i wait two weeks and try TCoS before the expansion? Or risk getting hooked into the expansion grind and probably not play TCoS till next year sometime?

@Pbmark50 -
WOOOORTTTHHHYYY is not a correct spelling. Its spelled "worthy". Also, WERE should be We're. For we are, not were. As far as capitalization, please refer to the following rules. Capitalization Rule 1. Capitalize the first word of a quoted sentence. Rule 2. Capitalize a proper noun. Rule 3. Capitalize a person's title when it precedes the name. Do not capitalize when the title is acting as a description following the name. Rule 4. Capitalize the person's title when it follows the name on the address or signature line. Top 10 Things we want in a KOTOR MMO by IGN
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 9/18/08 2:33:21 AM
They lost me at: "Yes, Jedi Knights are cool and all, and they have nifty powers and abilities, but if everyone is a Jedi, it loses all meaning. Star Wars Galaxies is a textbook example of this, as it suffers from an overabundance of Jedi. However, BioWare should give the other classes (whatever they may be) a way to compete with Jedi that still maintains the integrity of the setting. Plus, it should be fun playing a bounty hunter, a scoundrel of a smuggler, or even a laser-rifle wielding princess. It might even be cool to be a droid. HK-47, anyone?" Limited imagination concerning force sensitive races. They were so insightful and creative until this. |

LoL, soo true Obzerver. I agree Malefacus 100%, Blizzard has earned my trust, all they can do now is keep it or lose it.
I'll build a wall down here to defend the truthfulness of this thread.

Going to coin some new terms here first.
Carebear = Pwny (for the show "My Little Pony" as well as what you do to them, own them) PK = Punchkin (Combination of the Grief of watching a Munchkin get punched.)
So, regardless of if your a Pwny or Punchkin, some people will approach the roleplay experience differently. Some will be casual, some will be hardcore regardless of being a pwny or punchkin. |
